Zen took a step forward as Dali accelerated to come right behind him, not wanting to die as soon as he got another chance at life.
The girls on the back also got close as the group made a human train with Zen as the lead.
The current corridor was long, and it had 5 turns as far as Zen could see and a dead end at its furthest.
"I don't know what path is the right one, so I will be turning the first chance I get." Zen announced as he moved.
Throughout the whole way, he and the group zigzagged through the narrow passageway as Zen sometimes moved slightly to the right or left, careful not to step on any trap.
Sabrina on the back, like the others, followed his every move, but she was looking directly at him with a glare that made Zen feel as if she wanted to make a hole in his head.
Fortunately, that didn't happen, and they successfully made it to the first turn.
When the group turned, the first thing they saw was a glorious treasure chest waiting for them at the end of the path.
"It's fine here." Zen sighed in relief as he looked back at the group.
The human train was separated, and Zen cautiously approached the chest, carefully seizing it up.
Once he was close to it, he squatted down with Sabrina and Melissa still gazing at him while Dali was looking at the walls.
Zen put his hand on the wooden chest and slowly opened it for the boons in it to show themselves to them.
"What's there?" Sabrina asked when Zen was looking at the inside of his chest for a little too long while moving closer to him.
"Come see, we got one of our problems out of the way." Zen, still holding the chest, looked back at her and said.
Sabrina, hearing Zen's words, crossed her arms together and approached while the curious Melissa followed behind her.
"Oh! jerky, a water jug, and... a letter?" Melissa looked from above Sabrina's chest and shouted in excitement.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Zen took hold of the letter first and then turned to look at Dali, who was behind, but his expression quickly changed.
"Dali, stop!" he shouted with all his might.
Dali, who was sliding his hand through the wall, heard Zen's shout and turned to look at him, but it was too late.
*Click*
A part of the wall slid inside as the floor opened up to swallow the entire group.
"FUCK!" Zen cursed with every fiber of his being, as he only managed to catch hold of the letter.
*PA x4*
The group fell down on their asses, right on the hard floor, as they winced collectively.
"Why did you do that!" Melissa turned to look at Dali, who was scared out of wits, making the poor lad's expression turn into complete heartbreak as his 10 minute crush screamed at him.
"I'm sorry." he said.
"Sorry is not enough; what if we died?" Sabrina, who was already on her wits end, shouted at him back, not accepting his apology.
"Calm down; we have no room for quarrels. Look around; we're in some real fuckery right here." Zen spoke as the group heard him and looked in front of them.
The group were thrown into a much larger room than the one above, but if it was safer or not, Zen would say the latter.
"What's this? Where are we right now?" Melissa got up and cleaned her behind while looking at the room, which looked straight out of a death game.
The room had a small area where the group fell, and if they wanted to move all the way to the door that got them out of here, they had to pass through a challenge where they had to step on just the right block or something they didn't know but was likely dangerous would happen.
"Hey you, do you know which path is the right one?" Looking at the blocks that were enough to fit 6 people comfortably, Sabrina turned her attention back to Zen and asked with a condescending tone.
"Yeah, I can feel them." Zen replied, not so pleased with her tone that started going so far when he saved her ass from so many traps.
Sabrina, hearing his answer, didn't say a single word, knowing that she went too far but refusing to forgive someone who had a big role in her beloved's death that easily.
"Thank God, we have you, Zen." Melissa, getting closer to Zen, hugged him and spoke, full of enthusiasm.
Dali looked at this and looked down in sadness until Zen approached him and tapped his shoulder.
"It's fine, man; don't think about it too much. I think you accidentally chose the true path for us." Zen said as he turned to look at the room once again.
"But damn, this room is really huge!" he exclaimed.
"Thank you, Zen." Dali, hearing Zen's reassuring words, smiled even though he didn't know if what Zen said was true or not.
"Anytime man. Bros gotta have each other's backs." Zen looked back at Dali and gave him a wide smile that warm the young man's heart.
The youth, who were of approximately the same age, forgot all their differences and wrongdoings and took a step forward in their relationship.
Melissa looked at this and smiled, while Sabrina gazed at Zen for a long time and sighed.
"Let's move. We didn't have the chance to grab the chest's rewards; otherwise, we wouldn't be so worried." Zen announced as he moved closer to the blocks.
"I wonder what that letter had, though." Melissa spoke after him as she moved closer to him.
"Who knows." Sabrina shook her head and moved, too.
Dali looked at all of this and smiled once again as he joined the group.
"Once again, follow my every move." Zen said as he looked back at the group.
"One wrong move... and we're all dead."
