Chapter 1

It's a warm sunny spring morning when Dean slowly and sluggishly walked down the stairs of the house he shares with his long time girlfriend Myra. He wore a light grey pajama bottom that is just a little small for him. They went from his hips down to just above his ankles. This was due to the fact that it's hard to find pajamas that fit a man that stands six foot four inches tall. The shirt he is wearing is a simple fitted white t-shirt that was starting to wear out in places, and his strawberry blonde hair a mess from where he was sleeping. He yawned and rubbed his light blue eyes as he walked from the stairs through the small family room and into the dinning room, that held a dark wood dinning table and eight chairs that surround it. The dinning room is half the length of the house, it's a room that is not very big, just barely big enough to fit the table, but that doesn't matter. The whole house is an open concept, that is what attracted the two to begin with. The family room was smaller than the dinning room because of the staircase that is against the front wall of the room and curves up to the second floor.

He stopped just inside of the kitchen and leaned back against the counter that separated the kitchen from the dinning room. The kitchen looked like any other kitchen or at least Dean always said that when describing it to other people. It has a counter which is grey granite with black flecks in it and that wraps around the wall in a L shape starting where Dean stood and ended next to the stove. There's a window in the middle of the counter that looks out into the back yard, and on both sides of the widow are cabinets made of wood with a light wood stain on them. Between the window and the stove is an old white coffee pot and two cups. The stove is a black gas stove, and above the stove is an exhaust fan to carry the steam and some of the heat away from the person cooking. On the right of the stove was a small counter that also took a L shape with the longer counter following the wall and ending next to the refrigerator that is the same color as the stove. Across from the stove is another counter that runs the whole length of the kitchen with a two sided sink in the middle. Just to the right of the sink is a dish washer and above the sink is a bar that is the same length as the counter. The floor is a light grey tile that matches the counter tops, and all of the lower cabinets and drawers match the ones on the wall. Myra stood in front of the stove, the smell of bacon and coffee filling the air. She wore a light pink pajama top and bottom and had her long black hair tied back into a pony tail. She turned to look at Dean as he leaned against the counter and couldn't help but feel concern at the sight of him. This was the tenth time he looked like he didn't sleep in the last two weeks.

"Good morning, is the coffee fresh?" Dean asked rubbing his face.

"Yes, I just made it. Are you hungry? I'm making eggs and bacon." She said thinking of whether or not to ask if he had slept.

"No not right now I just need to get some coffee." Walking over to the coffee pot and grabbing a glass. He starts to pour himself a cup when Myra just couldn't take not saying anything anymore about his state.

"Did you have that dream again?"

"Don't worry about it." He said trying to avoid the subject.

Myra stood staring at him with a glare that seemed to cut daggers through him. She crossed her arms and waited for him to take his first sip of coffee before she brought up the subject again. As he began to sip his coffee of mostly cream and sugar, she began to start talking about how he should talk about this dream that has been keeping him from getting a good nights sleep. When she was done he looked at her then down at his now empty cup and then poured himself another cup. As he began stirring in the cream and sugar he stopped and then looked at Myra. He knows by the look of agitation that was now replacing the look of concern on her face, that if he didn't talk to her about it then she wouldn't let it go.

"I keep dreaming of when I was just a small child..." He starts to tell her everything he dreamt.

"This time it was different though." He says after he finished his story.

"What do you mean different?" She asked now more concerned then ever.

"I normally don't remember faces but this time I could see my parents faces and I remember the color of my birth mother's eyes. They were the same color as mine." He said with a small smile forming.

"That's good isn't it?" She asked.

"I think so but that's not all. I also remember something about the man who helped kill her, he had brown hair. I also remember watching as one man exploded and another burst into flames. I didn't think that was possible, not with how limited magic is. I don't know if that last part was just me wishing for them to pay or if it really happened. It probably didn't happen like that." He said shaking his head, trying to rid himself of that impossible scene.

"The only way to find out is to just ask your parents and see what they say."

"I've already called them. It was about a week ago and my father told me that it was just a nightmare and to just try and forget it."

"Try talking to him again and tell him about the new details."

"He won't talk to me about that time. He just says it's better to forget that part of the past and to just focus on the future."

"Then try talking to your mother and see what she says. It seems like your subconscious is trying to remember something important and you can't keep losing sleep over this."

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"Maybe your right, but why now? Why after thirty years is this now coming to the surface?"

"I don't know honey, but we will figure it out. I'm here for you no matter what." She says as she stretches up to kiss Dean.

He leans down so she can kiss him, after all it is hard for her when she's only tall enough to reach his shoulders. After eating breakfast Myra goes to take a shower after Dean tells her he'll do the dishes. As he's washing the last of the dishes he began thinking of what Myra said earlier was right, and decided to call his mother and ask her about what he remembered. He thought to himself that he had to be wrong and that his dream was just that, a dream. He grabbed a towel out of the bottom cabinet next to the sink and dried his hands. He then headed up stairs to the bathroom to see if Myra had finished her shower.

Dean walks through their bedroom to the bathroom and opens the door. The bathroom has black marble like tile on the floor that also acts as a border on the bottom of the reddish brown walls. Next to the door on the right is a black toilet and a wall that separates the toilet from the shower. The shower has a dark brown marble floor and walls, with a silver shower head that hangs from the ceiling. It is one of Myra's favorite things about this house. She says that it fells like she is standing under a waterfall when she showers. Across from the shower is the dual sink and mirrors. As Dean walks into the bathroom he stops at the sight of Myra as she steps out of the shower. Her caramel colored skin glistening from the water as is rolls down her ample breasts and drips to the floor. Her hazel eyes sparkling as the steam of the shower surrounds her, making her seam like a goddess sent from heaven. Dean's mind starts to go blank at the sight before him. All of his worries and doubts about the dream beginning to disappear, and replaced by the lust that was building up as he gazed upon Myra's toned and shapely body. He shook his head trying to rid his self of the dirty thoughts that where now tempting him.

"Could you hand me a towel or are you going to keep staring?" She asked pointing to the shelf to the left of Dean.

"Sorry sweetheart, I just can't help but stare whenever I see such a beautiful sight." He says grinning as he reaches for a towel to hand her.

"I bet you say that to all the girls." She says smiling as she takes the towel and begins to dry off.

"I'm thinking of calling off work today and spending it with you. How do you fell about spending the whole day with me in bed?" He asks, grabbing her from behind. Then holding her in his arms he begins to lightly kiss her neck. She turns around and lightly pushes him away.

"You can't call off. If you do then you'll lose your job and we can't afford that. Besides, I promised Jen that I would cover for her in the E.R. today."

"Fine, but your mine tonight." He said as he undressed and opened the shower door. As he began to shower Myra couldn't help but stare at him. She watched as the water ran down his muscular frame and well proportioned manhood. Now she was the one have dirty thoughts as she watched him shower.

"Damn, why couldn't it be a weekend?" She thought to herself as she left the bathroom to go get dressed.

Dean walks into the bedroom and then over to the closet that's right next to the door that leads to the stairs. He removes a white uniform and puts it on. After getting dressed he goes downstairs to the living room. The living room is an open room that connects to the family room giving the illusion of one big room. The floors are a dark hard wood that continues into the dinning room. A dark grey sectional sofa lined the wall and curved out to the middle of the room. On the far wall a big screen television hangs at just the right height to see perfectly from any angle on the couch. Dean remembers how Myra argued with him when he bought this oversized tv. She didn't see the point to having a tv that took up most of the wall when both of them hardly ever watched tv to begin with. He began smiling when he remembered how she changed her mind when they watched her favorite movie on it, and it made her feel like they had a whole movie theater to themselves.

He sits down and turns on the news like he always does before work. Myra walks in and sits next to Dean. She was wearing light blue nursing scrubs and white sneakers. As they waited for the weather report, the news anchor announces a breaking news report.

"Breaking news out of the kingdom of Belmundo. Troops have mobilized and are expected to invade our nation of Agram in the next couple of days. In response to this, King Mofit has ordered the army to intercept and repel the enemy troops by any means necessary. Officials are not sure what prompted King La'Taro to break the non aggression pact with our kingdom, but they did release a statement that says that they will stop at nothing to ensure the safety and well being of the citizens of this great kingdom. If not stopped, Then our kingdom will be the fifth kingdom attacked by Belmundo. Their first invasion being that of Delroy, a small city kingdom, thirty years ago. That city was completely destroyed leaving nothing left but ashes. Still to this day no one knows why that city was attacked or what King La'Taro was looking to gain."

"Oh my god!" Myra says cupping her hands over her mouth. She looks at Dean and sees the look of terror as he heard the name Delroy. She grabs his arm which causes him to look at her.

"Are you ok?" She asked concerned.

"Yeah it's just that Delroy is the city from my dreams, I'm sure of it."

"You don't think they will come here do you?" She asks hoping he would say no. Dean could see that she wanted to be reassured that they were safe even if it were a lie.

"Don't worry, you heard what they said. The king is sending the army there to stop them before they can hurt anyone." He said as he put his arm around her and hugged her.

"Let's go to work and put all of this war stuff out of our minds for now." He says as he kisses her forehead then stands up.

"You're right, lets not think about that right now. It's about time I get going. I love you and I'll see you tonight when I get home." She says as she stands and then heads for the front door.

After Myra left, Dean goes back to the news hoping to see the weather report which was the whole point he turned on the tv to begin with. Once he heard the report he began to think, what if they did invade? How can he keep the love of his life and his parents safe? So many questions began to swirl around in his head that he thought he would get dizzy. He took a deep breath to clear his mind and ease the anxiety that was beginning to wash over him. When that didn't calm him down, he then went to the kitchen and pulled a bottle of anxiety pills out of one of the draws. Dean could feel himself beginning to hyperventilate as he took the pill. After a few minutes he started to calm down and his mind began to clear. He was glad that Myra made him go see that doctor when his panic attacks first started. He put the glass in the sink and left for work. As got into is car, he suddenly remembered seeing Myra watch him as he showered. He smiled and thought to himself that this is a much better memory to have, and with that he started up his vintage muscle car and headed for work.
