The next day began just like any other. I hopped onto my magic-powered bicycle and sped toward Meldo’s Academy, not particularly excited about the classes ahead. School was still just school, even in a world of magic. And all I wanted to do was get home, sit in front of my PC, and work on my next video.
When I arrived, everything seemed normal—until it wasn’t. The air felt tense, and a strange quietness hung over the building. I shrugged it off, thinking it was just another dull day.
As the first class started, I lazily leaned back in my seat at the back of the room, half-listening to the teacher. That’s when it happened.
A loud explosion rocked the entire school. The windows shattered, and everyone in the room screamed in panic. The lights flickered as the emergency alarms blared through the halls.
"Emergency lockdown! All students and staff must report to the nearest shelter immediately!"
Panic swept through the classroom. Everyone bolted for the door, shoving and yelling. The teachers hurried to get us organized, but we were already being ushered toward the underground security shelters. My heart pounded in my chest. What was going on?
We barely made it to the shelter when the real terror began.
A group of masked villains appeared out of nowhere, tearing through the school's magical defenses as if they were paper. The teachers tried to hold them off, casting their strongest spells, but it wasn’t enough. In moments, every teacher lay defeated on the ground.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
The villains turned their attention to us.
"Take the princes and princesses first," one of them ordered, grinning wickedly. "We’ll drain their mana. As for the commoners..." He sneered at us with disgust. "Kill them."
Before I could react, a heavy blow struck my head, and everything went black.
When I woke up, I was lying on the cold, hard floor of the shelter. My head throbbed, and my vision was blurry. Slowly, I pulled myself up, glancing around.
Everyone was unconscious—the teachers, the princes, the princesses... everyone. And the villains? They were gone. No sign of them, no traces of their presence remained. The shelter was eerily quiet.
I looked around, trying to piece together what had happened, but my memory was blank. All I remembered was being knocked out, and then... nothing. How had the villains disappeared?
I stood up shakily, still dazed. Other students were starting to wake up, but no one seemed to know what had occurred. The teachers, too, were groggily coming to, clearly as confused as the rest of us.
But there was one person who seemed different—Amle.
She was standing near the entrance, her eyes locked on me. There was something in her gaze—something sharp and questioning. She had seen something, I could tell. But whatever it was, she wasn’t saying anything.
The next day, the school was buzzing with rumors. News of the attack had spread, and top-ranked heroes from all over the country arrived at Meldo’s Academy to investigate. They wanted answers.
how had the villains been defeated so quickly, and without a trace? But no one had any answers to give. Everyone who had been there remembered the same thing: getting knocked unconscious. After that, it was all blank.
It was as if the villains had simply vanished.
Later that afternoon, as I sat in my usual spot in the back of the classroom, I noticed Amle walking toward me. My heart skipped a beat. She had never spoken to me before, and her expression was serious.
She stopped right in front of my desk, her brown eyes focused intently on mine.
In a soft but serious voice, she asked, "What do you remember from yesterday?
