Redux: Update (And Some Recommended Writing)

THIS IS A REUPLOAD. It occurs to me in my sick addled state that I completely flubbed the links to these stories and their patreons so I'm reuploading it for better visibility so these stories get their due. Apologies to everyone getting hit by updates.

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately I've come down with a bad cold this week and its giving me a fierce brain fog and I'm just not seeing myself being able to produce anything above subpar this week. I'll be returning to normal capacity next week but this week I decided I should rest to get better faster rather than try forcing anything out. In the meantime, however, I do have some stories you can check out this week instead:

STORY HERE

"When a storm awakens, a sea of trouble stirs."

Aodhán Ashoka is an orphan from a backwater city in Laos, with very little memory of his life before the age of six. When he stumbles upon the legacy of an Ascendant and awakens the element of storm within himself, he unwittingly invites a storm of trouble.

Now thrust into a perilous world of war, magic and runic enchantments, Aodhán's destiny unfolds amidst thunderous clashes and rippling fury. With the power of lightning and thunder at his fingertips, he must confront his grey-morality in a world that threatens his very existence. If he survives, he may yet find himself on the precipice of immortality!

What to expect:

•War

•Elemental powers

•Conceptual powers

•Blood and gore

The Ascender's Legacy is a story that shows a lot of ambition and scope just within its first few chapters. It seeks to combine elements of high fantasy with LitRPG like progression into something that has a unique sense of style. On a personal bias the main character uses lightning powers, and I'm a sucker for that kind of thing. The main character is very experimental with his powers and nothing ever lingers for too long on events to make them feel like they're dragging. If you want a LitRPG experience with a unique flair and style, I'd check this out and there is plenty of backlog to catch up on as well.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

STORY HERE

Sucked into the void without warning, a handful of people from around the globe suddenly find themselves in the foreign world of Scyria, a place filled with people who can jump three times their height, conjure fire from thin air, and perform any number of other inhuman feats. Scattered across the realm and armed with newfound powers far greater than those of the native Scyrians, they each struggle to find their path in this unfamiliar reality. Their unforeseen arrival sends tremors throughout the world, toppling a centuries-long age of relative peace, prosperity, and progress as they each leave their mark on the world in their own ways.

But Scyria has its own share of intrigue, even without these unwelcome guests. A major metropolis is wiped from existence out of nowhere, triggering a manhunt across the continent for those deemed responsible. Two feuding nations decide to bring their hostilities to a new level. Blades clash, nations fall, and plots years in the making begin to reveal themselves.

This is the story of some unwilling trespassers, taken from their lives against their will and thrown into situations they barely understand. This is the story of some unfortunate Scyrians, their lives blown apart by the newcomers’ sudden and destabilizing existence. This is the story of Scyria, a world with a lost past buried beneath millenia. But as both the Earthlings and Scyrians are about to find out, sometimes the past doesn’t stay buried forever...

I marked the story as having Gore, Sexual Content, and Traumatising content because it does contain a bit of all three, though not what I believe is a significant amount. Just wanted to be safe. It does contain a whole lot of profanity, though. That one is very much deserved.

Displaced is an especially ambitious project that seeks to explore a world through the lens of multiple characters. They all have very different personalities and motivations and the story really does a lot to make these perspectives consistent even if it can make some characters "unlikeable" at first, which is worthy of respect since its telling the story that it wants to tell. The prose is very easy to read and detail as well lending to a very satisfying reading experience and once again, it has a large backlog to catch up on. I suggest you give this a read ASAP.

And with that I will be focusing on recovering and getting back to you fine folks as soon as I can. Sorry about the delay but I hope these stories keep you're reading muscles flexed in the meantime. As always, of course, feel free to drop a comment about anything that you'd like cleared up or that has been confusing you within the story as well as any feedback you may have. I do read all comments and try to keep them in mind when doing rewrites and when pushing further ahead in the story, so doing this only helps me create a better quality product in the long run.

Till next time everyone! Have a wonderful time ^_^
