Prologue Awakening

When the sky opened, humanity, as a collective, sided together, for the first time since its beginning. The first to attack the strange portal in the sky was Russia, focusing its collective nuclear strength on attacking it. Those bombs disappeared into the portal, but nothing happened.

For hours, the world waited to see what happened to those nukes. Something did happen, but nothing in the world would have thought.

A being of light, bigger than anything yet seen in our world, left the portal. Its mere presence causes all electrical signals to halt. Humanity called it an angel, for it was the only thing that came to mind for many of them. “Be not afraid mortals, for I have come by the order of the heavenly father God. He has proclaimed this world shall be absorbed into the heavens. To fight the monsters of the elders and the demons."

The world seemed to stop for much of the world. "Why has God come now, yet he has left us for so long?" this question was in many minds, but only a moment later it was answered. "The war on demons has raged for thousands of years. God wished to spare you from the suffering of this war, but now there is no way to spare you any longer. As God has commanded, I shall induct you into the heavens, and give you the power to fight."

At this moment, time seemed to freeze. The holy light enveloped each man and woman, slowly sinking into them.

And then, the world awoke. A strange screen floated before each of them. The screen glowed, inscribed on it, and said, "Welcome humanity to the army of heaven.”

The screen then disappeared, and another appeared in its place, a screen that is now known as a character sheet.

It held the attributes of each man, woman, and child. "This screen is known as the Heavenly System, which will allow you to grow in power and survive the coming war," the angel said. “May the Father protect you.” The angel finally said as he exited the hole in the sky.

The world moved forward finally, and the leaders of each country came together to speak. The world had been flipped on its head in their minds. They now knew of the grander universe outside their tiny world. But still, they did not yet truly believe it. How could it be true? There had been no sign of such things.

They only knew one thing: war was on the horizon, and they would need to unite in this time at least. The allegiances of country, family, and friendships were broken on that day. All that truly mattered was humanity. The heavens had opened, and the world was swallowed into a never-ending war. Humanity was truly united for the first time since the beginning of time.
