Chapter 11

“My lord, you are intelligent and most wise.” Alvarez had complimented Francisco in Spanish.

“Si, I am shocked that these uncivilized monkeys had gave up their golden crocodile for us. Once we conquer the whole of Barunah, I shall built a statue of Christ and convert their palace into a grand cathedral! These mohammedans have no where to run, but to dwell in the slums and beg for money. Soon, they will learn the real preaching of the trinity.”

“Such dreams that I appraise you for. King Phillip II will honor you with best of titles and fame once we reach Madrid.”

“There are people who dream of success Fernandez, but there are people who wake up and work hard for it.”

“Indeed my lord.” Vocalized Alvarez with deepest respect.

“Now, report to the other men to pick up their arms because at night tomorrow shall be the moment of history where we have spread the gospel!”

Stolen story; please report.

Anchoring by a conquered port, Francisco insisted on visiting Lopez, an expert blacksmith. Handing the golden crocodile, Lopez contemplated it and asked for his preference. Francisco claimed that he would like the golden crocodile to be smelted and be shaped into a cross. Lopez agreed and he began heating the coal and smelted the golden crocodile. The gold liquid was ebullient, it flowed down a funnel and into a cross-shaped container. When it was cooled, it became solid and Lopez clipped small chains for Francisco to wear around his neck.

Outside the blacksmith shack, Francisco appointed Seri Lela.

“You told me that this item could control water…” said Francisco.

“Yes,” replied Seri Lela anxiously as he pointed at the bay.

With much effort, Francisco held his arms out and the water began to morph tall and with one sway, the water darted at one of the caravels and sunk it. From the extreme pleasure, Francisco felt sharp nail in his brain.

“The golden crocodile cannot be used excessively. It may drain all your energy and you might eventually die.” Ratna suddenly intervened. “Impossible!” Francisco hollered back. “With this, even those brave would lose their will!”

“Careful. Remember our treaty Francisco, I shall be sultan and I will grant you all the gold and treasury for you. Do not break the agreement.” Warned Seri Lela.

“I won’t for sure your majesty.” Said Francisco deviously.
