Chapter-11 Darkness

Chapter-11 Darkness

As the sun shined brightly across the sunglass valley, a cockerel began to crow

An old walked down the path leading to the cave entrance on his back was an enormous basket containing

Greenish sand as he walked down the mountain path, he felt the sun rays hitting his face

In the distance, a flying ship appeared.

The old man looked at the ship and sighed

“Looks like New blood has arrived”

The old man was the only old person in this dig site, he had been here a long time

Digging the death sand, the people around here called him ‘Bo’ he had seen all kinds of people over his

Years at this horrible place but he still felt excitement every time he saw new people coming

His eyes flashed with white Brilliance,

“A man with giant bloodline”

“No other special 7 cultivators and 60 mortals “

Then his eyebrow furrowed

“A child” he murmured

“Why would they send a child to this place?”

The old man started to wave his hands and white symbols and many circles with anagrams and hexagrams

“Finally, my time has come,” he said

The old man smiled and erased the symbols

“I hope the calculation isn’t wrong”

The old took out a scroll and charcoal pen out of thin air and then started to draw a portrayed

The portrayed was of a man, if David was here, he would recognize himself from this life

“Yes, I can finally die” he smiled and said to himself

The old man started to walk away humming a tune

......................................................................................................................................

When I woke, my head was spinning I had no idea where I was or how I got here

I opened my eyes to search around the place looking for a clue as to where I was

But it was pitch black, I couldn't see anything at all

Why was it so dark, did they take me back to that dark room again

Did they put me in the bubble again?

As that thought came to my mind it germinated into a nightmare

I felt as if someone was choking me, it was getting hard to breathe I could feel my

Heart beating so fast that it could jump out of my lungs and into my throat at any second

I tried to get up so that I could run away but my body wouldn't move

I felt like a small baby all over, the old feeling of fear I had buried resurfaced with a vengeance

The horror in my heart grew to such extent that I had lost my ability to think

But because of the horror, I tried my hardest to move, to escape this bubble

This brought me to my senses because when I tried to move, I moved my hands

And through my hands I felt soft warm dirt, there was no dirt in the bubble

this realization calmed me down, wherever I was it was not in the bubble

It took me a long time to completely calm down, when I did, I tried to move my hands and feet around

My hands and feet moved according to my wishes then I started to check myself

Except for the sharp pain in my ribs, there was no other obvious injury

Ignoring the sharp growing pain on my ribs I got up and started to feel around in the dark

According I was in some sort of room made of stone and it was very hot, there was a door of sorts but there were cool iron bars which stung when I touched them blocking the exit

So, I did the obvious thing to do I sat in the middle of the room and waited for eyes to adjust to the darkness

As I did so, I tried to remember how I got here

I remembered going to the pagoda to test my spiritual roots with granny, in a flying carriage

AS I began to piece together the events my head started to hurt

But I didn’t stop, I remembered meeting my father and then I remembered the fight

Like a movie it played right Infront of me,

There I was happily running into the pagoda, entering into a circular bright room filled with blue light

With a stone stele right in middle, that must be the testing monument I thought

I was giddy with excitement when red lines began to appear on the floor joining and interwinding together covering the entire room

These red lines were so mesmerizing that I was staring intensely at them hoping this proved I was special

As I was staring at these lines a dozen men came down and surrounded us, in blink granny Yu was next to me

“What do you mean by this” Granny shouted

An old man dressed in black and red robes with white long hair and wrinkly skin floated to the ground ahead of us

“Get behind me Young Master” I heard granny speak in my mind

Then all I could see was purple fire everywhere and granny flew up and started to fight

All I could see was bright lights and then there was an explosion which knocked me back in the air

I became dizzy and confused as I tried to get up suddenly granny Yu was in front me

She had tears in her eyes

“I'm so sorry Young Master I failed you,” I heard granny Yu’s voice

Then she punched me hard on me knocking the air out of my lungs

As I struggled to breathe granny Yu picked up by helm of my nick and flew in the air

I saw water forming a snake-like body wrapping around us then a beast made of fire attacked the water snake

As I regained my breathing the water fell on me made me soaking wet, I looked toward granny Yu who had put on her stern face

I looked strangely at granny Yu who stood still but then we started to fall

I landed on top of granny as we fell to the ground, A sharp pain rang throughout my body

I looked toward granny Yu concerned about what the fall and my weight did to her

AS I turned, I saw granny lying on the ground with her hands and legs spread apart, her face was deathly pale and there was a huge hole on the left side of her chest

No, No, No, No, No, No, No

I shouted and began to run towards her, in my mind I was screaming

“don’t be dead please god don’t be dead, please granny Yu don’t be dead”

I reached her and touched her neck to take her pulse, there was none to be taken

Her body was growing colder by the second

No granny Yu, I felt, weak useless and sad very very sad

I could feel hot tears streaming down my face irritating me

And gather granny Yu in my embrace and hugged her as I cried and wailed

I sat there holding the cold body of granny Yu the only person who was kind to me who took care of me

The only person who wanted me to live and now she was dead

Suddenly I was picked by an invisible force and I came face to face with the old man who mocked granny Yu

In horror I saw him slowly use his hands to put pressure on my eyes soon I saw my vision become red and then it became dark

I screamed on top of my voice, I back in the centre of the stone room

I could feel cold sweat all over my body and hot salty tears streaming down my face

I sat there with the cold body of granny Yu stuck in my vision, it was all I could think about

She was gone the sweet old woman was gone,

As I lay on the hot floor crying like anything

I heard voices all around me I sat up and tried to listen but they were speaking in a strange language one I hadn’t heard before

“Hey new guy stop screaming, we’re trying to get some rest” I heard an old voice call out in the language i knew

I moved toward the voice

“Hey old man where I'm?”

“Don’t you know?”

“No, I don’t “

The man began to laugh

“Purgatory, you are in purgatory”

I was stunned by that answer as I tried to find my way to the voice my hands touched the cold bars

I ignored the pain that came from the sting

“Really old man where are we?” I shouted back I know where I am

then I can think about the future, then

maybe I can and figure out what to do next

“Roten eggs” I heard the man exclaim

“What in the world happened to your face boy?” he asked

“What do you mean?” I asked knowing the answer well enough

“don’t mess around kid, what’s wrong with you why don’t you have eyes”

Even though deep down I knew I had lost my eyes I still denied the t=cold truth

But this sentence broke my spirit

This was my new reality my life without eyes

my fucking that is plunged into darkness

I fell back on my butt feeling the stinging pain in my hands

I felt helpless, I had dreamed of becoming superman, of becoming a hero, I had seen myself as a pioneer

AND NOW ALL I SAW WAS DARKNESS
