It was at that night, that I realised we were not alone.
“Now you have met God, what is your wish?” The ethereal voice appeared in my cloudy mind.
As my eyes closed, my true thoughts echoed across to the being.
Its sharp unassuming eyes glinted in the angelic light, but for a brief second, as a red translucent film began to cover them.
“ It is like that, I see… Strange for your kind…” Whispered the almighty voice, as the words became lost in a sudden gust of wind.
“Very well…” Each sound came towards me in a forced contortion, as the strong wind shaped them.
An individual leaf gracefully glided on the strong gusts, as if it knew how to safely navigate them, as if it had known and seen them before, as if they were long friends that were simply reuniting… As if it… ruled them.
My presence unable to move, the small green leaf flew up towards my face, my eyes narrowing upon it.
Then it went dark. My mind finally blank.

“Drak, wake up, wake up!” The panicked voice felt like an alarm attached to my brain.
As much as I willed, my stinging eyes would not open. That was almost true, it was as if they could not open. An array of perplexing colours entered what I thought to be my vision, forming elegant shapes and patterns with every twist and turn, like a ballet routine privy only to my closed eyes. Each intricate move of the routine became increasingly sophisticated, it was like staring into a carefully controlled and planned kaleidoscope. That is of course if each individual piece was being moved around with some kind of telekinesis.
In one delicate wave, the individual pieces of colour rotated with coordinated precision, each blob violently shuck, leaving their former shapes behind and forming an assortment of rectangles, interwoven like a puzzle, each piece designed to fit into the next- the bigger picture unknown to me.
For many minutes, the perfect rectangles began to move, sliding into any empty space. Until finally, it stopped. A large gently swirl began to form at the center of the now complete shape. Rippling outwards, like a raindrop falling upon a lake, the ripples intensified. Mini tsunamis, flung up to the boundaries of the shapes. They held, not allowing a single drop to break free. ‘You shall not pass!’ echoed in my mind, as the lines that formed the perimeter fought back. One at a time, they marched forward, boxing the vast waves inside an ever smaller space.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Stiller and stiller the waves became, as the waters freedom was halted- a ring sized box now held a tiny pool of water, suspended in my vision. Slowly, it began to rotate. Quicker and quicker, it spun. The water somehow unaffected, stared at me.
“ Drak...” As the sound entered my mind, the box began to violent shake.
“You need to wake up!” With that, the once still water erupted, shattering the surface of the box, water leaked into the surrounding dark abyss, forming small spears that pierced into me.
I could feel thoughts being pulled from my mind, being taken from me.
The day I graduated and gained my degree. A time that is supposed to be filled with joy and happiness. I hated it. I mean, what did I learn? That going to University, wasn’t for me. I wanted to learn, I wanted to study, but the thing is, University isn’t for only that. They expected me to join their little groups, to go out and drink, and make stupid decisions, and if you didn’t well… It is almost as if you were the odd one out, and as we all know, being the odd one out sucks. So, I stayed in my room, I read, I learnt. But my gosh, I did not conform. What was the point of making friends there anyway? All they do is leave after the 3 years is up.
Another spear pierced me.
Cinnabun. Yes. Cinnabun. Happy thoughts. Memories of the rather large bunny flooded my mind, as they were ripped away. The princess of all bunnies, she had been called, she wouldn’t even move to collect her food, you had to move the bowl to her. I had no choice, I had to rescue her- I found her stuck in some fence wiring by the side of a road, an escaped house rabbit. That cute little face. I had no choice, she needed a home. So I took her in, made her a little wooden hutch, intending for her to live outside, but I somehow knew that wouldn’t be good enough for her, she wouldn’t even step inside it.
So, inside the house it was.
Tens of spears now pierced me. I was a pincushion, left to their mercy.
As my consciousness faded, I couldn’t even see the spears or how many dug into me.
Before my mind shut down, I heard a rusty distorted voice.
“Extraction complete.”
“Wake up!”
