Ancestral Vampire

In a sacred temple on Blood Island.

Complex runes were etched onto the temple grounds, filled with a kind of red liquid.

"Elven blood sure is rich in mana, especially the High Elves," Roland Vampfer, a Royal Vampire, bloodline of the Royal breed, cackled to his minions, or that's what he liked to call them.

"Yes boss!" Two vampires of noble breed exclaimed in unison. They had done this a thousand times, agreeing with their boss was always the best option.

Despite of noble breed, the vampires adhered to a strict hierarchy system, starting from the lowest, common vampire, to pure breed, followed by noble and finally, the royal breed.

Satisfied with the response, Roland dramatically raised his arms in the air as he commanded, " Activate the spell matrix!"

Immediately, the two pure-breeds channeled their mana into the spell matrix. The elven blood burst into a ghostly green flame, consuming the mana as fuel.

Roland stared at the green flames in awe as his preached with reverence, "Oh the ancient one, thee tread the path not known to life nor known to death. Once again, the vampire race is near extinction. This servant humbly beseech the ancient one to grace us with thy presence and deliver us from this calamity!"

Just when he finished his preach, the temple started to vibrate as the mana around the runes fluctuate intensely.

Amidst the mana spike, a distortion appeared in the middle of the rune as it radiated black light. Slowly, a figure began to take shape and bringing along with it was an aura of immense bloodthirst.

However, before the figure could even utter a single world or take shape, a distortion appeared once again, instantly annihilating the figure.

The vampires did not notice this anomaly as they had their heads bowed.

Eventually, the distortion turned into a portal and a muscular figure stepped out.

Once the mana spike was gone, the three vampires fearfully raised their lowered heads and uttered, "Your humble servant welcomes the Ancient One!"

The figure in front of them was Oh, so majestic. His overbearing defined muscle coupled with his pale skin radiated a tyrannical aura, befitting that of an alpha.

His pitch black eyes stared at the three vampires, as if demanding his unspoken questions to be answered.

As if he has gotten the cue, Roland bowed as he answered, “In reply to the Ancient One, this lowly one is Roland Vampfer, and it was I who has awoken your greatness from the eternal slumber in hopes of saving your descendents.”

The Alpha parted his lips and slowly uttered, “What eternal slumber? I was in a slumber. But, not an eternal one.”

“Oh, your mightiness! I knew it! Those darn elves could not even restrain your brilliance! I kept telling them that your Majesty was only tired! None of them believed me! NONE!” Roland screamed agitatedly.

The Alpha pay no heed to the lunatic’s ramblings and continued, “But...who is this Ancient One? For I know I am not that.”

‘W-what…’ Roland’s brain lagged a little.

“By Ancient One, it is used as an honorary title to address our one and only Ancestral Vampire! The Supreme Leader, The Magnificent, The Emperor of Evernight, The Undying, Th-” Roland went into a trance as he became more and more emotional.

“I am indeed an Ancestral Vampire,” The Alpha, also known as our dear Klith, rubbed his chin in contemplation. ‘But it’s only 10%, so am I or am I not?’

Roland and the two noble breed glanced at each other in delight for they knew that there was hope for their race to fight against the intruders.

“The Ancient One, please allow this servant to bring our King to your magnificence,” Roland immediately get down to the subject at hand as solving the vampire crisis was of utmost importance. But before that, the vampire king had to pay his respect to the Ancestral Vampire.

‘Meeting the Vampire King? I guess it’s a common custom to greet their king first. After all, I was not given permission to enter their country.’ Misunderstanding Roland’s intentions, Klith insisted, “It’s alright. I will go meet with this Vampire King of yours.”

“A-ah, as expected of Your Benevolence, we shall be forever indebted to your graciousness,” Roland’s admiration for Klith has reached new heights.

From what Klith could recall, after running into the portal, he tripped and tumbled over in the void. This caused him to veer off course and collided into the walls of the void. Normally, one would be obliterated into smithereens but this was Klith Z’Garak, Son to the Lord of the Abyss, the Invincible Abyssal Archfiend. His body was stronger than the void walls.

His indestructible body opened up a hole in the void wall, creating a forced portal, which goes against the Laws of Dimensional Travel.

The next thing he knew, Klith found himself standing in the middle of an altar, facing three kneeling vampires.

---

The eerie moonlight lit up the throne hall, cascading everything in a deep blue color. Five massive pillars were erected on each side, each of them decorated with intricate designs. Hanged at the top of the throne hall was an expensive chandelier decorated with rubies and crystals with no apparent use.

Five noble breeds stood on each side of the throne hall, with the left side belonging to the external affairs and the right to the internal ones. At the end of the throne hall sat the vampire king, two black vampiric wings were erected on each side of the throne.

The vampire king was extremely old, his long white hair covered most of his wrinkles and his body appeared weak and fragile. Although the vampire king was almost as weak as a common vampire, his deep insight in magic, especially the [Scared Blood Art], has prevented his subjects from taking over his throne.

“All shall bow before the presence of theeee ANCIENT ONE!” Roland disregarded the formalities before the vampire king. None of that mattered in front of the Ancestral Vampire.

Chaos ensued as the ten noble breeds immediately readied their attack, blasting those who disrespect their king into ashes. However, they were a tad bit slower than Roland, who rushed to the nearest vampire and crushed his head with his vice-like grip.

Immediately after, Roland leaped into the air, narrowly avoiding an ice lance. Not giving vampire mage a second to adjust, Roland transformed into a swarm of bats and completely devoured the mage.

“ENOUGH!” The vampire king’s voice echoed throughout the throne hall, his voice commanded obedience and respect. He had just used [Authoritative Control], those that were weaker than him have no choice but to submit.

Roland and the rest of the vampires immediately knelt onto the floor as a suffocating pressure bore onto them. Even Klith found it hard to breathe, albeit he appeared indifferent. Klith felt slightly threatened for the first time.

“Oh? You can still remain standing after I used [Authoritative Control]? Interesting,” The vampire king smiled as he looked at klith with newfound interest.

“M-my king, that, that is no way to talk to the, the, Ancient One!” Roland protested while enduring the pressure.

“[Silence]” Roland found instantly mute. He could not even make a single sound.

The vampire king cast another spell without taking his eyes off Klith.

“Now let's see if you are the real deal, ‘Ancient One’, [1st Stage Blood Mist]” The vampire king mocked in disbelief as he casually surrounded Klith in a mist of blood.
