Rules and Regulations

Hastilude:

1. Objective: The goal of Hastilude is for a team to maneuver their robot, known as a marionette, through the opponent’s goal, incapacitate all the players of the opposing team, or destroy the opponent’s marionette. Each of these can end a round with a victory.

2. Teams: Each team consists of seven players, with five players active in each round. Teams can have one Controller and multiple players in the other roles: Security, Engineer, Guard, Infiltrator, Rifleman, and Goalie.

3. Roles:

• Controller: Pilots the marionette. A controller can be replaced during gameplay, but only one can operate at a time.

• Security: Protects the Controller.

• Engineer: The only player allowed to repair the marionette during a game.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

• Guard: Protects the marionette.

• Infiltrator: Uses advanced stealth and tracking technology to neutralize opponents.

• Rifleman: Provides long-range support or assaults the enemy marionette.

• Goalie: Defends the goal from the opposing team’s marionette.

4. Marionettes: Marionettes are robots, roughly car-sized but can be as large as a tank. They are highly customizable and usually contain unique technologies/features that make them distinct.

5. Gameplay: Matches are played over three rounds, each lasting up to 30 minutes or until one team achieves one of the objectives. After each round, there’s a 10-minute break where teams can strategize, swap roles, and reconfigure their marionettes.

6. Scoring:

• Getting the marionette through the goal: 10 points.

• Incapacitating a non-controller player: 1 point.

• Incapacitating a controller: 5 points.

• Destroying/incapacitating the enemy’s marionette: 7 points.

7. Arena: Matches take place in specially constructed, randomized modular stadiums that offer a variety of challenges and benefits.

8. Incapacitation: Any violence after an opponent has been incapacitated is grounds for immediate termination of the game, with victory awarded to the non-offending team. Incapacitated players are removed from the arena via automated drones or teleportation technology.
