Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy at Hogwarts!
Chapter 14: First Flying Lesson

Chapter 14: First Flying Lesson

During the first week at Hogwarts, the focus of attention for students new and old was undoubtedly the first confrontation between Gryffindor and Slytherin, Potter and Malfoy. The confrontation ended with Potter losing 15 points and Draco adding 15 points for Slytherin.

What worried Draco was Hermione Granger's performance. The Gryffindor genius scored ten points for Gryffindor in Transfiguration, Charms, and Herbology. Her outstanding performance suddenly made the school's public opinion take notice of this girl from an unpopular Muggle family.

The second week of classes went on as usual. Draco and Hermione continued to score points for Slytherin and Gryffindor respectively. Harry Potter, on the other hand, became a byword for high reputation and mediocre performance.

It wasn't until Thursday of the second week that the boys' much-anticipated flying lesson finally arrived.

"Why don't we ask if anyone wants to play Quidditch first?

"Just let those who want to play come to class.

Early in the morning, Pansy, who had already finished getting ready, barged into Draco and Daphne's dormitory, who were still in bed and complained.

'Hey, we actually have an extra bed here. Do you want to move in?' Draco, half asleep, buried his face in the pillow, completely ignoring Pansy's complaints.

Before she could react, Daphne in the next bed let out a scream in her sleep. Pansy had obviously jumped into bed and joined her under the covers. The three of them chatted idly, and when they finally got up and finished getting ready, they went to the Great Hall, where they encountered a situation that always made Draco unhappy.

Although everyone was beginning to realize that Harry Potter's performance in the first week had been unsatisfactory, his reputation remained, and there were always a lot of students around him. Harry Potter was always the most brilliant student in the first year.

On the morning of the flying lesson, the backgrounds of the new students revealed significant differences. The children who had grown up in wizarding families were all excited or too nervous to sleep, finally able to legally ride a broomstick. The children from Muggle families, on the other hand, were all full of anxiety, imagining with anticipation and fear what it would be like to fly.

Have you noticed? It seems that Potter has only received one letter in the last two weeks.

At the breakfast table, Draco looked curiously at the Gryffindor table, ignoring the new students who were restless for various reasons, and turned to Pansy and Daphne and asked.

The owl had brought another letter and parcel, and Draco, as usual, opened the snacks their father had sent and handed them to the Slytherin students.

Amidst the grateful flattery, she turned to the boys who acted as her best friends and bodyguards. Crabbe and Goyle, sitting opposite her, shook their heads first, while Daphne looked confused and then Pansy giggled knowingly.

"So you've been paying attention, Miss Malfoy?

"Shut up, Parkinson." Draco decisively cut off Pansy's potential giggles and, after confirming that they were almost finished with breakfast, she stood up with Daphne and Pansy. Crabbe and Goyle were still buried in their honey muffins.

Just as they were about to walk to the center of the four long tables, they heard the boys boasting from the Gryffindor table opposite.

This is a Remembrall! My grandmother knows I always forget things.

Draco glanced over her shoulder and recognized the Longbottom boy. Although she felt sorry for Longbottom's mediocrity, she was a descendant of one of the 28 noble families and couldn't help but pay attention to the performance of each family's children, especially those of the same age.

But no matter how much attention she paid, she was still embarrassed to hear him boast about such a worthless prop. Unable to suppress her contempt, she raised her eyebrows and winked at Pansy and Daphne. When had the descendants of the Twenty-Eight Families become so proud of a worthless Remembrall?

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Feeling unhappy, she despised Longbottom even more and silently erased his existence from her heart. Unconsciously, she smiled and started to walk past, but as she did, she accidentally heard Harry exclaim, 'Wow!

'When this ball turns red, it means... it means...'

'You're forgetting something.' Before she knew it, she'd heard her own sarcastic tone.

'Frankly, Longbottom,'

'As a member of a family of wizards, I really don't understand how someone could be so bored as to get excited about a completely useless magical object.'Her tone was cold. For some reason, hearing Harry Potter's admiration for the Remembrance made her feel an indescribable disgust.

'D... Draco!' Daphne said in a tone of surprise, and Pansy's eyes widened as well. Neither of them was used to hearing her speak so bluntly. Longbottom's face went pale and Harry Potter and Weasley abruptly stood up. Crabbe was still eating at the Slytherin table, but Goyle had run over in three quick strides. Before the conflict had even begun, Professor McGonagall had already come down from the platform and shouted, 'What's going on? What are you doing?

Malfoy insulted my family. Professor Longbottom stammered, and he made up a false accusation. What kind of false accusation is that? Draco thought, narrowing his eyes. But she noticed Severus' eyes on the high table.

I'm just reminding him that the Remembrall won't tell him what he's forgotten,' she explained quietly, watching Professor McGonagall's deep frown. Seeing Potter's displeased expression, Draco raised his eyebrows, shook his hair, and left the Great Hall without looking back, heading for the Quidditch pitch.

-

Unexpectedly, the flying lessons were not held on the Quidditch pitch, but on the open grassland at the far end of the campus, divided by the Forbidden Forest. After Draco left the Great Hall, the Slytherin students hurried to catch up, so that by the time the lesson began, the Gryffindor students had just arrived and the Slytherins were already waiting neatly beside their broomsticks.

Madam Hooch, a Professor of Flying and Quidditch referee, was waiting in front of the broomsticks.

What are you waiting for?

"Everyone stand by a broomstick. Hurry up and get into position.

As soon as the Gryffindor students had arrived, Mrs Hooch shouted at them to get to their broomsticks and introduced herself and the course.

Draco couldn't help but look down at the standard broomstick beside her, which had a slightly dry handle. She recognized it as a Comet series broomstick, often used in amateur competitions, from the streamlined end of the handle, which had been deliberately sharpened.

She looked at the grain of the wood and didn't bother to read the model number on the engraving, just sighed to herself.

Although she was not particularly interested in Quidditch, she was like any other child of a wizard family, and her leisure sport was riding a broom.

The difference was that, unlike simulated Quidditch, her sport consisted of chasing woodland birds and migrating geese in the fields and woods of North Yorkshire, as if hunting, in the air between the manor and the south at sunset.

It was said that this was a tradition left by Armand, the ancestor of the Malfoy family. There is also a magnificent woolen tapestry in the drawing room of the manor house. The theme of the tapestry is William the Conqueror and his courtiers riding into the forest on horseback to hunt, while Armand, the ancestor, rides on a broomstick in the air with the wizards, chasing the prey.

Of course, there is also a collection of rare broomsticks on display in the hunting lodge at Malfoy Manor. Looking at the Comet 120, Draco never imagined that one day he would be riding on an ordinary broomstick.
