So, I have received a lot of backslash for the Obscurial plot, and I feel like I should explain.
First, in my opinion, although this story is very fun to write, the main character, Edward, is very shallow with little to no character development.
My plan in writing that plot was for him to eventually regret his decision and carry the weight of said regret for the rest of his life. That his pursuit of knowledge can lead him astray, that he was a hypocrite for criticizing others while doing this terrible thing. In general, it was to give him some character development.
Second, I would have written later in the story that the Obscurus was probably the only magic that could hurt Death, and Edward was planning to use it as a contingency plan against it: it was supposed to have the power to even destroy law.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Finally, these kids were not supposed to die. As mentioned before, he learned how to separate Obscurus from a child's body from Newt in 1926. Additionally, my plan was for him to erase the knowledge of the abuse from their minds after the experiment, find them a proper family and support them to live lavish lives: this was a way to relieve all his guilt. Later on, his team that would travel across dimension with him would discover this secret, thus creating tension and drama with the clash of different morality.
Now, many people have pointed out to me that I have gone too far, and after reading these comments, I agree with them. So, I'm retconing the last chapter.
P.S: There will be no chapter release today.
