I realized that all the numbers matched I had won the lottery. I and his family could survive he was one of six billion people who had two draw lots to see who would be able to get on the last transport shuttles to get off from this dying wreck of a planet. I and my family quickly got to the spaceport to leave as they arrived they noticed one of the luxury cruisers taking off. That Annoyed me somewhat. The rich don't have to participate in the lottery of life they just had to pay 1,000,000 Credits to leave if they didn't just go on their personal ships. As I walked up to the gate with my family my three son’s two daughters and wife Elly, I hand the guard the ticket that would allow us to leave this plaint before it implodes due to unchecked mining operations. The guard looked at the ticket and then sadly said “this only good for three people.” he collapsed to knees sobbing “how do I choose.”
The guard looked at me with a sad look then stated: “I also feel obligated to mention you as the tick holder must be one of the three.”
In my mind I was staring into the face of despair we had existed all of our other options. We weren’t rich I barely even able to get my hands on one of the last light lottery tickets and the only other way was escape other then having you own ship was to be in the top 1% of the intelligence tested give to the plaint citizens at which point you could go to work at an off-world research station run by republic. My daughter Anainble was the only one to come close managing to get in the top three presents but that wasn't enough. I looked back at my family still sobbing they weren’t doing much better than me. Elly my loving wife collapsed into unconsciousness for the shock.
As I sat there trying to comprehend what I was two do a limousine poled up to the gate and out of it pope a richly dressed man who more whale then man as he casually walked up to walked over to the gate As flopped by my family his eyes lingered on my daughters. In a voice like a vacuum turned to reverse he asked the guard. “Now what's the matter with these rubes” the guard explained the situation. As he did I recognized the man the fat prick was one of the richest and most deprived men on the plant Fateenit Dickson. After the guard explode the situation the rich baster had the audacity to laugh to himself a bit then he looked back at us with an expression that would send a shiver down a dead man's spine he said “Well dere man, I think I might be able to help.” with that expression I probably should have been warier of him but I would have made a deal with Satan himself so in desperation I asked “How” the man smiled with evil smirk “I am the proud owner of my own MTY-138 luxury cruiser, I’m feeling that my staff might be a little.... understaffed and your daughters there look……. Like they fit the qualifications.”
With the way, the man said it wall looking at the girls it was very clear what would happen if my little girls went with him but on the other hand, if they stayed on plaint they would die. At most, the plaint had 2 weeks and that's if everything goes perfectly but it fairly over what would happen if they went with him. All I could do in this situation was to leave it up to them.
Anainble my oldest and as fair as the tests went the smartest daughter had a dark look on her face. she looks the fat bastard in his milky eyes "I am honored by your request sir, and will happily accept your offer." she said in a tone bereft of all emotion.
Fateenit Dickson smiled "good and you YOUNG lady," he said as he pointed with his sausage finger at my youngest daughter Sophia, she was nine.
she stared at me with a look horrific in his eyes. she began to cry she ran into me and sobbed out "I am sorry I can't do it"
I looked down at her with a Mischer of relief and sadness. Dickon gave made a mock sigh the sneered and stated in a matter a fact tone "Oh well not everyone has scents, come with me you" he pointed is flabby finger at Anainble " we need to be off."

And just like that he and my elder daughter were gone at least she would get away from this dying world and as such wouldn't die. Still, she would have different concerns on that ship.
Then my mind went back to my most major problem, I hide to choose two people from my remaining family of six to come with me and survive. I looked at my oldest son íobairt he was a well-built boy tough he had turned 18 last week so I guess he's a man now; He was well built and had a good 5 inches on me in height.
he was looking down at his hands a contemplative look on his face his well-built hands were shaking violently. then suddenly they stopped and then he looked me in the eyes, His expression at that moment seemed like a breeze could shatter it. Then he quietly whispered " I will stay behind"
I stared at him "what!" I asked totally stunned.
He continued to look me in the eyes as he did this his expression hardened, "I'm sorry dad but I don't think I could live with myself if I live at the expense of any of the rest of our family." he stated in a voice that was hard enough to bend steel around it.
"You think it's any easier for me" I stated, a little bit irked.
At this, his face split into the most sarcastic grin I had ever seen in my life and in a voice that was equal parts aggravation and dejection "well that's not really an option for you is it. your family's ticket holder."
the shock me more the everything else today, after that below I need a moment to compose my self after which I was finally " íobairt I'm sorry your right I didn't have any right to complain even if I was unaware the ticket holder would have to go. even so surely there is a wa.."
"no there is not!!" he interpreted "look at those guards" as he pointed at the guards stationed at the ticket station "their are incredibly well-armed and will kill anyone who tries to pass into the station without hesitation"
I look at the guards they seemed like they would do just that. I look back at my son "OK, I will go along with this if you're certain."
he looked back at me "I am"
I looked down dejected "All right then that's one less person."
my wife then cleared her throat nervously "My dear, am sorry but think we both know I have to stay as well."
I looked at her and in a dejected voice asked: "And why is that?"
she looked at me sadly "Hony the kids only need one parent and you are being forced to be that parent, don't make this more difficult than it has to be. we had 20 good years, that's good enuff for me" she said in a firm voice that brokered no argument.
I had just resided myself to the fact that my wife got the last word in any argument a long time ago. that how we stayed happily married for 20 years.
but this was still very hard for me "this is still not easy for me." I stated
she kissed me on the cheek "I know deer but you now am right."
smailed bitterly taking a moment get better control over myself "yes I do."
that left me with only three people chose from my two sons Erin and Melvin and my youngest daughter Sophia. This was still very unbillable difficult for me because I had to diseased to leave one of my remain children to die. for better or worse I already know who I had to choose.
With tears again beginning to make me cry I leaned down to hug my daughter who was hugging my nee from earlier. I hugged her back and squeezed out "I sorry."
She was the only logical choice, she however horrible the second option had hade one. She had chosen to stay behind unfair to her two brothers Erin and Melvin Who had not had the same chance to escape. this was not easy, especially considering why she turned down the offer but it was the only digestion I could mack in the circumstances.
My wife picked her up Into her arms; I gathered our luggage and me and my two youngest sons went past the gate and boarded the shit that would take us off this Doomed world. it was incredibly cramped the wasn't even Enough space For us to lay down in. after a couple more minutes the ship took off. As the ship was leaving the plant's outer orbit I was able to see the Mining plaint I had grown up on and raised my family on for so long. Ever-Increasing crakes spreading across its surface. it wouldn't be long now.
I took in a deep breath looked at my two sons and let out an unhappy sigh then in a whisper said: "well at least it's over."
