Chapter 01

Chapter 01

March 15th 1944

Near the end of World War II. Very few students in Japan were learning at school. Many were dead or never returned. They took jobs from many different sorts. Even less teachers were there to teach, so all of the seniors were able to be placed in three classes; 3-A, 3-B, and 3-C. One young girl who decided to continue her education was a short lass even for a high school senior named Hanako Narumori.

For many years of Hanko's school, everyone was fine with each other. They were friends and very few bullies were around. However that changed when their school project arrived. They were told to do a small family tree about their distant relatives.

All students need to talk about; if they could, tell everyone about the family jobs. Two weeks in, Hanako felt very scared and quiet. She found out something about her family she didn't want to learn. She had to bring everything with her during her project, but didn't wan anyone to know about her findings.

One of Hanako's classmates, Tahara Mizuki bumped into her table. *Oops. Sorry. Hanako. Here is your...paper.* She said reading the document. Hanako tried to swipe it away, but the class president moved quickly. *Hey everyone, listen to this! Apparently Hanako's family is a traitor!*

Everyone looked at the class president dumbfounded. They were all murmuring until someone stood up in front. *What does that mean? How can her family be a traitor?*

*Read it here!* Mizuki gave the boy the paper.

*Yojiro Narumori is wanted for being accused of discussing Japan's secrets with the American government.* The boy read.

*You're no good girl. You're the offspring of a liar, a thief, and a traitor. Why hasn't he been arrested yet? Where is your dad, Hanako?*

Everyone looked at her and Hanako grabbed the paper from Mizuki. *Don't talk about my family. This is a lie. My dad is off in the war trying to save me.*

*Then why is the paper making him out to be a villain?* Mizuki poured someone's water bottle on Hanako's head. The she pushed Hanako and she slipped and fell. The teacher walked in and told everyone to get back to their seats.

*Hanako. What are you doing? Get cleaned up and hurry back to your seat.*

Hanako entered the bathroom to clean up.

Starting the next morning, going for two weeks, throughout normal school hours, she started getting attacked. By being tripped, people spat in her hair, clothes stolen, hair cut, water splashed on her, you name it, it happened.

This new morning was gonna be the same as all the others. Or so she thought. When Hanako was getting ready, she found a letter in her shoe locker. It said to meet her in the third year girl's bathroom after school by 5 in the evening, but was unsigned.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

After she got to class, she was putting up her defenses as people started to walk past her. She started to notice no one was striking her. '*What's going on?*' she thought. People always started her day with a trip to meet the hardwood floor, but no one ever laid a hand on her. She was more scared than ever. First a letter to meet someone and now no one touching her.

Throughout the school, people started to talk normally. Treat her with respect, talk to her a bit. Notice her as if she was a human being. Hanako found this very odd. After school near the suggested time, a few young lassies were sitting on their desks whispering and giggling. No one else was around. As she was about to leave, Hanako heard something.

*Hi, Hanako.* Three seniors were checking their figures in their mirrors smiling. *Whatcha doing?* The tallest girl asked. *I'm meeting someone. Please don't bother me.* Hanako replied walking out the room. The tall girl closed her paper fan pointed at her with it and then all three slowly followed her.

*We know you and your family is a betrayer.* One said as she slapped Hanako's cheek leaving a dark red mark. *Your daddy is a traitor to his own country working for the enemy. You will never be welcomed here if you were found out.*

*Stop it!* Hanako shouted as her short hair was being pulled.

*Thirsty?* A second lass asked. She took Hanako into the stall and opened the toilet. She flushed it. As the water started to rise up, Hanako saw her reflection in it. *Time for a drink.* The third girl said as she grabbed the flusher. The second girl shoved Hanako's face into the toilet and the third girl flushed it. The tall leader stood watch.

Hanako was chocking and gurgling water. Her head was raised and she was completely drenched. *One more time!* The leader said. *This time, she will learn she should never return to this school again.*

The two girls did the same actions; dunk, flush and release. After they were finished, they allowed her to lay in the stall coughing up. The whole floor was completely flooded. As the two girls were washing up, the leader saw she was stepping in red water.

Hanako was coughing up blood. *What is this?* She shouted. *Why are you bleeding?* The leader picked up Hanako with blood coming from her mouth. *All we did was give you a few toilet swirlys. We didn't hurt you. Tell us we didn't make you bleed.* She shouted more.

*Let's get out of here, before something else happens!* Girl three suggested. As the started to leave, the heard a loud noise all three girls jumped. Hanako was still weak and she couldn't control her body. She slipped on the water covered floor and hit her head on the toilet. As all three saw her body laying there, they all ran out the bathroom running down stair going home.

That night, a school teacher was walking the hallways at night. As she got to the top floor, she started to hear a repetitive rhythmic sound of something dropping. She was trembling a bit. She never heard any sound before. She slowly walked checking each room to see if anyone was there, but also if the classrooms were locked. Each step she took, she thought she was hearing the sound get a bit louder. After she locked all the doors, the sound got even a bit louder, but the same rhythmic beat.

The last door was the girls bathroom. Once she got to the bathroom, she heard it loud. She turned the light on, and saw a faucet dripping still on. *Ah, girls. Have you ever heard of wasting water?* The teacher turned off the faucet. However, as she looked up into the mirror, she saw a refection of a girl face down in the toilet. Blood was everywhere, but water drained down the sewers. Lying there soaked from her own blood and water, with her head in the toilet. Hanako was dead.

The teacher screamed and called emergencies.

Sadly after many months, there was no answer, just like many others. They ruled it an accident from slipping and falling banging her head. Every other evidence wasn't prevalent, they coroner suggested. So for many years, the real murder of Hanako was never solved and some people in Japan still believe until someone solves the true murder, she will be haunting the women's bathroom from that building forever.
