James Miller’s POV
I make my way to her casket. Sasha died the night I brought her to the hospital. I know exactly who did this. It’s time I face the ghost who murdered my parents. With Sasha gone I’m it’s new target. I’m heading to the house. I’ve called an exorcist to meet me there. Hopefully he can banish the ghost. I pull up to the house.
I haven’t been here since I was a kid. The night we showed up here to save Sasha I couldn’t even step through the door. I have to do this for Sasha. I walk up to the door. The exorcist is sitting on the porch.
“I’m Carl,” he says.
“I’m James,” I say. We walk inside. The ghost is standing in the corner. She looks up at us and smiles. The exorcist begins praying.

“In the name of God, we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks—” the ghost runs up to him and hits him in the head with her hammer.
“You thought that would work?” the ghost says. She shifts into…the exorcist.
“I’m not a ghost. I’m a shapeshifter,” she says. I pull out my gun. I shoot her in the head. She just stands there. I run into the kitchen. I grab a knife. I slash her face.
She hits me in the head with the hammer. I fall over. She grabs my ankle and pulls me down to the basement. She raises the hammer over her head. I grab her hands. I push her into the wall. I knock the hammer from her hands. I drive the knife through her heart. She gasps. Her hands shake. She shrieks. She slumps down to the ground.
“Why did you kill my parents?” I ask. She closes her eyes before dissolving into ash.
“Thank you, James,” I hear behind me. It’s Sasha’s ghost.
“Thank you so much. I knew you could help me from the moment we met,” she says.
