Afterword
Thank you for reading!
If you've enjoyed the story, please take a moment to give me rating. This will help secure my position on the rising stars list and allow more readers to discover the story, which in turn helps me to expand my audience.
I started writing Guild Punk after watching an anime called "Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash." What stood out to me about this anime was the realism of the danger that the characters experienced. The Isekai genre often features overpowered main characters, or a world that doesn't feel truly threatening. Grimgar, however, successfully portrayed characters who seemed completely out of their depth, having been thrust into a life of combat with no memories or real fighting ability. They grow to became stronger and more capable at a realistic pace, which made their struggles all the more immersive. This concept captivated me, planting the seed for my own writing and the desire to write something similar. The name "Guild Punk" entered my mind, and I began building the world, and thinking on a reason why they would have lost their memories, and why they were in the game in the first place.
Then, the idea of Mr. God came to me early one morning while I was having a coffee and I got so excited about it I started writing right away. I started with Zelik and Leah on the ship, then built the characters as they were introduced and I quickly became passionate about Guild Punk and felt I had something special. I’ll leave it to the readers to decide if that is true or not, but I personally am having a great time.
As for the real world which Mr. God inhabits, in this first volume, the real world has little consequence, but that may change because of... Well, I'll keep the vague clues and hints to myself for now. I have a lot of great stuff planned in building out both the game world and the real world.
Once again, thank you so much for reading! I've loved reading your comments and interacting with you as readers. This is my first time posting on Royal Road, and I've greatly enjoyed opening myself up to such a large audience over the last month. I have much more planned for the future, so stay tuned!
