“Father do I really have to go” Whined a blond-haired blue-eyed boy to his father. “I want to stay and work on archery some more.”
“You’re heir to the Throne and these are our duties to the Kingdom. The more you learn now the better you will be in the future.” The king said as he entered in to the carriage. “now stop your incessant whining and get in your carriage we are leaving NOW”
Upon hearing of a Leviathan sighting, it was the thrones responsibility to access the situation. Usually not in person but being this was a newer territory and the king wanting to give his son some life experience with this trip he figures it was a trip worth taking. Plus, Daton was there. “BRAULT” Immediately a soldier in black leather armor snapped to. He walked over and knelt in front of the king.
“Sire?”
“you have my permission to beat him if he tries to run and if he continues to complain you are to stop the fighting lessons he holds most dear.”
“NOOO THAT’S NOT FAIR.”
Standing up Brault reach out before the young prince could even think of moving. He grabbed him by the back of his trousers and his collar and lifted him up. “if you wish, your majesty I could carry him like this the entire way.”

“BRAULT OW THAT HURTS. PUT ME DOWN THAT’S AN ORDER.”
“I’m ever so sorry young master but I only receive orders from the King and no other may order me save for his majesty unless otherwise ordered by him.” This was something that had been drilled in to every black clad soldier around.
The King was doing his best not to laugh at the situation and keep a dignified face. “I.. I think you carrying him a marvelous idea, but only if he continues to refuse to enter the carriage. Do you wish to be carried son or enter the carriage?”
“FINE I’ll go but I won’t like it at all.”
Brault set Jacob down and quickly stepped back and to the side. If he hadn’t the kick that followed putting the prince down would have connected. The prince had fully expected to hit the soldier. When he didnt he lost his balance and landed on his royal bottom.
“Young master if you are done playing in the dirt, would you be so kind as to enter into the carriage his majesty does really need to be going.” The Gaurds did their best to be formal in open settings like this.
The soldier knew the king wouldn’t tolerate his son’s behavior and neither would he. These soldiers were special to the kingdom. Their numbers were few and they were specially trained. Their formal name was ‘Guardians’ but most referred to them as the ‘king’s claws’. Mostly they served as the kings and the immediate royal families guards but would carry out any special mission needed doing.
Looking up into the soldiers face the prince knew this fight was futile. Without uttering a word, he entered into the carriage.
They had already delayed this trip 3 times on account of the other matters one being the prince. It was only one day away but matters seemed to arrive one after another only to spring up more and more. By the time the king was ready to go a month and a half had passed since news of the Leviathan.
“I hope Daton is alright.”
