---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Far above the ground of Erde in the realm of the god. The gods held a conference about the recent problems in the mortal world, but the conference still bore no fruits.

One short man with well defined muscles an bruises all over his body had two fiery red battleaxes on his back and shouted: “Oh shut up Klar, just because I am the god of war doesn’t mean that I should kill everything, why the heck did I even have to fight against the Dragon Emperor and his shitty minions. Shouldn’t Nel take this job? He is the god of death!”

“Why the hell we do have such stupid rules, if we were allowed to freely interfere with mortals we could stop this silly problem in seconds…” A god with a big belly and a bald head murmured to himself.

Suddenly a gate appeared in the conference room and a skinny man with a pale face and a skeletal staff entered into the room. The atmosphere changes drastically, everyone got silent and the nearby angel servants looked as if they suffocated on their own air. Many gods send a glance of despite towards the skinny man.

“I am ashamed to be late but as you all should know hell just overflows with new arrivals. Oh and Kairos, you are as hot blooded like ever, could you turn your brain on. Dragons have an endless lifespan, I can turn their clock of life forward but that would not affect them in the slightest and shouldn’t you be able to handle a mere mortal? You really got weak, maybe it is time for you to retire and let someone else take your position. Someone who is more skilled at killing, like my son.”

A furious war cry could be heard and in an instant two axes appeared in front of the skinny man ready to cut his head off. The skinny man did not even try to dodge the attack and had a slight grin on his face which showed how unaffected he was of the show of his brother. “Do you really think YOU can bring death to death?”

The skinny man started to laugh loud.

Stop it, both of you! The soft but loud shout came by a young looking, blond women with a snow white skin and a beauty which can be said to be unparalleled in the whole world.

“We have more urgent matters to attend to then your little dispute.”

Kairos frowned silently and Nel’s grin widened. Nel hated Kairos since long ago. While he himself had to live in hell, Kairos was allowed to live in heaven even though both handled death. Furthermore Kairos was just a stupid brute. Nel couldn’t understand how both of them can be the sons of the same father. This uncivilized outburst before all gods was just good enough to brighten his mood from the recently on storm of souls in hell.

The young looking, blond women seated herself in a throne of clouds in the middle of the room and started speaking.

Now that we are all here we need to find a solution on how we can get the monster under control, if this continues the monster will overrun our followers and we will lose more of our power. We can’t let this happen if we fail this world we will never be allowed to rule another world.

“But that isn’t our fault! Klar said that we would handle a magic world even though these worlds have the strongest life forms on a planet!”  Said a god out of the mass of gods.

A fiery discussion kindled between the gods and many approved of what the god said. They searched for a sacrificial lamb where they could dump their responsibilities on. Even though they may be gods many gods, mostly lower gods, were filled with the same despising traits like humanoids.

All gods had much pride, some were even greedy or gluttony and most of them were lazy. They lived for such a long time that they just waited for the time to pass on and wanted everything to stay the same. For this reason they wanted to end this conference as fast as possible and go back to their temple or their holy ground, but this clouded their judgment and they didn’t even try to sincerely look for a solution.

An angry woman stood up from her cloud chair and shouted:” Even if you dumb all your responsibilities on me it will not change the fact that we ALL will lose this world if we let the monster roam further around! And just so you know you dumb fucks! We voted which kind of a world we would take. YOU ALL choose this world and I just reassured father that we could handle such a world, but you lazy bumps just didn’t care what happened in the world until the balance was destroyed!”

All gods were shocked. The shouting god was Klar, Klar was the god of Nature and was said to be a calm and peaceful god. They didn’t expect the friendly, shy girl to get so furious, but what shocked them the most was her appearance.

Her normal white skin turned obsidian colored and her silk like brown hair turned to hundreds of wooden snake which made her head look like that of a medusa. Furthermore her normal soft and friendly voice turned furious like the voice of the devil himself. No god knew that she could turn to such an evil looking creature.

There were many reasons for Klar’s sudden outburst.

First of all her beloved forest was ravaged by wild monster and even though she ordered her apostles to defend against the wave of monsters they either lost their life or deflected to other gods when they saw what happened to their comrades. This left her to be almost completely follower less.

Secondly she did tried to warn the gods of the growing population of monsters for over 2000years, but no one was willing to listen to her.

Finally the gods even claimed that she, who tried to warn them for over 2000years, was the reason for this misfortunate.

While the anger for her fellow gods took over something in her awoke, something she did not even knew existed in her and as such she let her true feelings explode like a raging storm.

Some gods cowered in fear of the obsidian women and felt like they women could in every moment rage through the gods and begin to slaughter them.

Normally they wouldn’t fear other gods but Klar was a higher god and could easily kill over 100 lower gods and even 40 medium gods. Together with her furious aura she appeared like a vicious demon.

The young looking, blond women noticed that the conference suddenly took a turn for the worst and had a serious and troubled look on her face. She didn’t expect that the conference would be so fruitless and did in secret hope that they did not have to use plan B.

The young looking, blond women sighed:” Klar I know that you are furious and I know that you would happily kill all of these thrash gods but that still wouldn’t help to stop the monsters, so could you please calm down.”

Klar seemingly angry still had her skin obsidian colored and frowned loud but sank back into her cloud chair.

“But what shall we do? We surely didn’t meet today if this conflict could be easily solved”. The bald god said.

“Yeah even if we knew the danger what could we possible do? If we fight we may lose too many apostles to rule over this world.” Said another god with protest.

“I already discussed this topic with some gods and we hoped that we would not need to go to such drastic measures.” Said the young looking, blond women.

‘Sigh ’”We will combine our world with another world and enable souls to travel between both worlds. Then we will create puppet bodies which are like normal humanoids bodies and let the souls of the otherworlder fight for us through these puppets. These bodies will have the essence of gods and will, like us gods, be able to resurrect in a temple.”

“Ar…Are you crazy? You want to let foreigner souls with immortal bodies roam in our world? This is madness!” Shouted a god furiously.

“Madness? I don’t think so. Through cheer luck humans in another world developed a device named virtual reality capsule which lets the soul animate beings in a virtual world without leaving the real body. If we use this device to let souls animate our puppets we will have an undying force who still remains mortal in his own world.” The young looking, blond women took a deep breath.

“Furthermore will we program restrictions into our puppets which prevents them to harm our humanoid followers as long as we don’t want them to and finally we will give the humanoids the ability to create quests. Through our information most foreigners should follow these quest and do the tasks of our people as long as they get some reward. This ability is just a visual effect and they will not even notice that they have this ability, but it will help them greatly in controlling the otherworlders. BUT we have one slightly problem…”

The woman started to tremble and was barely able to get the final words out of her mouth “‘fffaaather rules this world”.

‘….’ Even if the gods didn’t like the solution most of them knew that there wasn’t an alternative and approved the plan but after the last words of the blond, young looking women were spoken the room went silent and fell in a deep depression. Only the wind could be heard as it moved through the room.

Finally Kairos let a silent growl out:”I think I have to go. We have a slight monster problem and the dragon emperor still is alive and beating. I think I haven’t tried hard enough to defeat the dragon, I will only return once I have succeeded.”

“You are right brother I am responsible for death and I can’t let my dear brother fight alone, we will somehow stop this monster invasion, I will join you and I too swear to only return once the dragon emperor is dead.”

The room was still filled with silence. Only the footsteps of Kairos and the ‘clack, clack’ sound of Nel’s staff could be heard until even those sounds vanished and the room was left with complete silence. Even the wind couldn’t be heard anymore. Every sane person would turn insane of the strange mood in the room.

Not one god dared to make a sound again and they all left the room with a hopeless grim expression on their face. Even the upcoming monster waves didn’t turn the gods in such a state and shortly later only two gods were left.

“Klar could, could you please ask father if we are allowed to combine our world with his? He spoiled you so often and maybe he would at least hear you out.” The young looking, blond women nervously played with her hair.

“But I, we …”

“Let me think about it.” Klar already returned to her normal appearance and no signs of her devilish transform could be seen on her beautiful body. Klar stood for a long time in the cloud room and even the young looking, blond women already left.  A day later Klar went to the exit and showed a terrified face as she left the room.

This day should be later on known as the day of the great bewitching. Every follower had to celebrate this day or each god would send their wraith to the ungrateful being and send it to his eternal rest.

-- -- --

In a white room lies a person on a bed. The room has much space but only little space is truly used. Here and there are some chairs. A small TV hangs on the wall opposite to the bed and strange devices are seated next to the bed.

The person on the bed looks to be a man around his 30-40 and has many blue dots on his body. Blood can be seen on his clothes and he coughs heavy, sometimes he even spits a bit of blood. Many devices are connected to him and seem to check his health condition.

The man takes a remote control next to his bed in his hands. “Let’s see how the doom of many good man is doing.”  and turns the TV on.

‘The heads of over 10 states retired. The official statement was that they judged that they could not stop the increasing crime rate. Carla what do you think about th…’

‘Boring this happens now a days every two weeks, can’t they show some more important stuff? The man starts to change the channels on the TV; his face shows a slightly annoyed expression as he wanders through the channels until he abruptly stops.

‘Some years prior a highly revolutionary device in the gaming industry was published. The device is now a days known under the name virtual reality capsule or short only capsule and was created by Mark Johnson.

Many developers broke their teeth on this device and most of the old generation developers didn’t understand the concept behind < connection through mind> and as such many unsatisfied games were produced, but finally after 8 years since the capsule has been founded one games was created which puts every other game into the shadows. This pioneering game was recently published and is also the first game which could cope with the new technology of the capsule. The game seems like a second world with endless possibilities and is named . Grenzenlos is a fantasy based game, but more after the commercial break.’

“Well finally we have some people who think the world will go one. ‘Sigh’ it is a shame as a kid I dreamed of such games but now I can’t even try the good ones before I die.”

The man always felt that death was so far from him, as if every problem of the world somehow avoided him. A crisis there, a ‘DEADLY ALL HUMAN KILLING ILLNESS’ here and another war here and there, but it was still so far away from him and his life. He was no foul. He knew that he could die as easy as every other person. He even felt a slight shudder when his mind crossed the idea that a sudden drunken driver could just end his life.

While animals expected that the cars could just drive off the streets and try to run them over, most humans walked like no care in the world as if no random crazy action could just kill them suddenly off. It was not like he was different, he knew it could happen but what could one do other then to say bad luck.

Well maybe he was a bit different, he would not believe the deadly apocalypse which were on the news and could kill EVERYONE. He more believed that the deadly apocalypse was the random bad luck that was all time present and that as sudden as he was born he could die as sudden as well.

A man in a coverall enters into the room of the man and turns the TV manually off.

“Hello Dr. Jakobs I am ashamed to bother you, but since time is not on your side and we still have a contract going, I hoped that you would be willing to help us with new ideas for ‘your’ project.”

“Phil you can call me John, only jerks want to be called with their title and I don’t know which contract you mean? I already finished all my responsibilities.” John played dumb, he was already as good as dead; he just wants to growl in his failure and wait until his end comes.

“John you tried so much to get your little project started and when you were finally allowed to play around you just had to get yourself infected with Oodinium, well at least 3 million suffer with you.” Phil stared at John seemingly thinking he hit a sore spot.

“John come on, what had you planned. We know that you already researched how to reset the aging process but what did you find? You might be able to leave traces in history!” Phil got more and more impatient.

“Sorry Phil I don’t have anything for you.  I wanted to start the research but well the illness came first, so please just piss off.” John dreamed since long ago to achieve immortality. He had no noble goal like helping others he just was afraid of death. But since his doom is already decided he had no interest to corrupt humanity further.

He knew what Phil searched. John planned to alter bacteria which would repair ones lifespan through leaving a needed enzyme in the cells. It was a low risk, high gain method, but it was still his method.

“John you know what… We don’t need you. You had your chance but the only thing for what you will be remembered is the doom of humanity.” Phil wanted to leave the room shaking his head in disbelieve of John’s stubbornness.

“Oh shut up. I did not want to create Oodinium and I believe in 4 weeks the virus will vanish by itself maybe even earlier.” John said with certainty in his words.

Phil looked for the last time to John before leaving the room.

John’s last sentence brought Phil to the conclusion that the illness already turned John’s brain into mush. How could such a deadly illness just vanish like that furthermore in just 4 weeks? Many experts even came to the conclusion that the illness will turn humanity itself to dust but he was so bold to state such a lie with proud.

“Why did he have to visit… Who the hell piss ill people off?" Shouted John.

"… I hope I will still be able to see my girl, but oh hell, with my rotten luck who knows what will happen.” John turns the TV back on and stares blankly at the screen. He lost his previously interest completely.

5 hours later

“Doctor the condition of the patient in room 13 seems to get worse. He is the special patient shall we give him blood transfusions?” A nurse rushes to the next nearby doctor.

“Room 13? The one with Oodinium? Even if he is a special patient the best we can do is expand his life for one more day. We will need all the blood we can get. He should already be full with painkillers; there is nothing we can do for him.” The doctor spoke harsh words but the nurse did not dare to go against his orders.

                  ----          -----

With this John stood on death doors and even as he had no pain he knew that he will be finished.

‘Karma is such a bitch, I spent years with learning, building up a repetition and then try to get immortality started but destiny comes and says nope.’

John felt into depression, a tear could be seen leaving his left eye and he closed his eye shut. He was in a foul mood. He wanted his shit life to finally end, waiting for what comes next or what not.

He lied on the bed, his eyes closed with coughs which came more and more recently until he abruptly stopped to cough. The cough seizures were replaced by a ‘beeeeeepppppp’ sound from a device next to the bed and with this leaving a colder growing body behind.
