Reincarnation

Reincarnation

Within the vast expanse of darkness is a figure floating about while laid "down". No one knows from where it came and to where it goes. A strong smell of age radiates from within its body, signifying the passage of seemingly endless time.

Had there been light, one could then see the dense wrinkles streaking across the body, and the beard of color white lining along his jaw.

With his eyes and mouth shut, the body was suspended in space, pushed by an unknown force that kept it moving.

The atmosphere was quiet and deadly still, in this void, only the body is moving about.

Yet all things must come to an end.

Was it a decade? A century? Nobody knows. Perhaps aeons had went by, and finally there is a shade of something else amidst the darkness.

It could be perceived, but couldn't be seen. The color it has is just the same as its surroundings, but the differing factor here is that a force was being emitted outwards from within itself. The science behind this is a mystery, but it seemed to be exerting a pull on its surroundings. From far away it could be felt as a faint tug, but the closer you get, the stronger the force is. Although the color is all the same here, but once up close then spots of color distortion could be seen here and there. It looked somewhat like space being pulled apart, with different tones of black spreading throughout.

Common sense dictates that the thing was of great danger, but it was a case of misfortune for the body. It was being dragged towards it...

The speed of the body gets quicker and quicker, and just after a few split seconds, it disappeared into the unknown...

Yun He Continent, Feng Shui City, Lan Ling Clan Residence.

A doctor by the mid 50's had his index and middle finger held together, he reached out his arm and stuck his fingers onto the veins of a wrist belonging to a young man who is lying down on a large bed.

While feeling the latter's pulse, the doctor inspected the young man himself.

He then shook his head with his eyes closed.

From top to bottom, the young man's skin was light green with a shade of pale purple, adding on to his weak pulse, even a child could tell that he was already half a step past the doors of death.

Wang Muhai eyes were solemn. After acquiring the teachings from his master, he had been working in his field for 30 years already, countless lives were saved by the rough yet rigorous hands of his, from young to old, from mortal to cultivators. His experience couldn't be denied, it was abundant, enough so to be titled master.

Right when he stepped into the room, he was already almost certain that the young master couldn't be saved anymore. Judging by his looks, it seemed like the young master was poisoned, and it wasn't a light one indeed.

His actions of now doesn't mean that he is trying to save the young lad, rather, it was a courtesy shown towards the illustrious Lan Ling Clan, making sure that a cure is truly beyond his reach, despite the obvious symptoms shown by the young master.

Besides, he would still have to determine what exactly is the source of such harm, it was part of his responsibility.

Wang Muhai turned his body and bowed towards to a man and a woman standing a couple meters away by his side. With his fists cupped, he lightly apologized.

"Pardon my offense." He said as he turned back to the young master, and pulled up the young man's clothes carefully until the whole belly is exposed.

Afterwards, he placed his palm on the belly, closing his eyes and focusing on the Spiritual Qi flow.

Wang Muhai's vision of the outside world faded away, but slowly he was able to see many faint, white outlines. As they became clear, branches would be the best word to describe them. They were of varying sizes, with the smaller ones extending out from the larger ones. The surrounding was pitch black, and at the center of it all exists a trunk. In this case, the trunk is a spherical, ball-like structure, it is where the white light is the brightest, and is the part referred to as dantian.

30 years of engaging in the field of healing did cause Wang Muhai to have less time to cultivate. But that was offset by the compensation and gifts he had received from his patients, especially those cultivators who are pulled back from the verge of death. Whether it is gold, silver, or perhaps rare medicinal material, they certainly do play a huge role in speeding up his cultivation pace.

Wang Muhai observed his dantian, close to ninety percent of it is filled Spiritual Qi, and above the Spiritual Qi lays a thick, almost transparent, horizontal barrier of light. Having his dantian filled up to eighty percent meant that he is at 8th Cycle of Spiritual Qi Realm, and the appearance of a barrier in the dantian meant that he is close to a breakthrough. By adding them up, Wang Muhai is a peak 8th Cycle Spiritual Qi Realm! Someone of this strength would be a top-notch expert in Feng Shui City, but still falls well below the local powerhouse, Lan Ling Clan.

The doctor regained his focus, and he drove some of his Spiritual Qi towards his palm. This is Spiritual Qi sense, using Spiritual Qi to perceive.

As his Spiritual Qi gets closer to his palm, he starts to see a faint spherical outline, this is the young master's dantian. It was cracked and corroded, with strings of Spiritual Qi flowing out constantly.

To get more information, Wang Muhai directed his Spiritual Qi towards the other side.

But suddenly-

Wang Muhai staggered a few steps back, his arms flailed before he came to a halt.

*Puuh* He spat out a mouthful of blood, and his head became dizzy. Putting an abrupt stop to his Spiritual Sense too quickly caused this.

"Doctor Wang!" The man and woman beside cried out in shock, they quickly went forward to help out the doctor.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Wang Muhai wiped off his sweat, his breathing was unstable.

Before anyone has the time to continue, the young man who was previously laying down on the bed suddenly sat up. His back hunched; his eyes wide open, the pupils were of no norm, they were tired and aged to distilled, they don't look like living material, nor do they resemble something a young lad would have.

"Who disturbed this grandpa's sleep?" The young man spoke in an plain tone, while his pinky finger went digging in one of his ear.

*Tak* A flicking noise resounded, and a mass of earwax drew an arc before hitting the ground.
