The notice state [ Warchief Command: Ghostlands!] just reading the name alone gave Aethas a horrible feeling inside his stomach, he steeled his nerve and continued reading.
[Warchief Command: Ghostlands!]
All bodied members of the Horde are hereby ordered to report to Arcanist Vandril at Tranquillien in the Ghostlands.
Your help is needed to turn back the numberless Scourge invaders and secure the help of the Forsaken in fighting our common enemy.
To reach Tranquillien, follow the road south from Fairbreeze Square and into the Ghostlands
Destiny Calls!
The notice was written boldly in red, Aethas could see why his father seem to be in a hurry now, he’s going on a deployment and he’s going to take us along with him! Plus the fact that there’s a big reward posted below and bonus included.
“So, you’re telling me that you want me and mom- out of all people, to move into the Ghostlands and settle there! A complete Dead zone filled with undead?! Are you out of your mind old man?!” Aethas couldn’t take it anymore with his father eccentricity, it’s one thing if it’s just him coming with this Orc of an elf, but asking him to brother his mother along?
“Don’t worry too much about it! Safety is guaranteed at the Tranquillien, it’s the most fortified place in the entire region!” his father pointed out, that was somewhat true- based on the game, Tranquillien was formerly an Elven Village, but after the Scourge invaded and turned the zone into a deserted wasteland full of Amani trolls and Scourge, it was abandoned- that was until the Forsaken came over and take up resident and allied themselves with the Blood Elves against their common enemy.
“But why do you want us to come with you to that place though…” Aethas frowned.
“What else my son?! You be training with your daddy here to inherit the family business!” the brute of an elf proclaimed loudly.
So that was your goal! Bullshit!- although, once Aethas thought about it, it could be a great way to gain more fighting experience and power level himself up a little with the numberless Scourge, along with a side dish that was formerly the “Great Amani Empire”, since all the pest in Eversong Woods is barely enough to fill the gap in his teeth anymore with the amount of mana they had, thinking about the possible pros and cons, Aethas nodded.
“Alright, I’ll bite the bait- my guess is you want me to convince mom to move into the Ghostlands, right?” knowing his own mother, there is absolutely no way in hell she would agree to his dad crazy idea of moving with him- thus it all came down to him.
“No, surprisingly your mother actually agree without a second thought when I propose the plans to her… she was saying something about possibly expanding her company to other areas instead of staying local, along with the fact that the real estates in Ghostlands should be dirt cheap since no one is stupid enough to buy it.” father Aethas repeat the words of Aethas mother without missing a single detail.
Damn! She’s right! Who in their right mind would buy pieces of land that is currently infested with undead?! So it should be dirt cheap and with their current capital income, it will be enough to carve a huge chunk of Ghostlands for themselves! All they need to do is clean up the undead infestation a little bit overtime if not completely destroy Deatholme and end the Scourge presence in the Quel’Thalas once and for all!
“Alright! What do you want me to do?” Aethas asked his father with excitement clearly shown on his face, there’s money to be made after all- even the possibility of people a noble too, there’s a saying “with wealth comes great power!”.

“ I want you to give up on going to the Sunstrider Isle-” before his father could finish the sentence “deal! When can we move?” Aethas had already agreed.
Hold it! Wasn’t that a bit too rash?! I thought you would throw a tantrum when I told you to give up on going to a good college to become a mage! How can you agree so quickly! Although father Aethas had already made some backup plans, such as letting the Mage advisor in his unit tutoring his son instead.
“Of course! I’m not going to the Sunstrider Isle, professor Sunreach cancel that plan and took me as his apprentice instead and tutoring me into I’m qualified enough to be sent to Dalaran.” Aethas dropped a bombshell on his father which such news, dear god! Dalaran?! Isn’t my son too talented?! The city of magic! The place where the Bloodline of the Sunstrider Dynasty once study?! Wait hold on, professor Sunreach? That old bastard actually took in my son as his apprentice?! Hahaha! This is great!
Part 2
Convincing professor Sunreach was surprisingly, an easy task- the moment Aethas brought up the idea, the old elf was already packing up ready to leave at a moment's notice, it was even before he could brought up the offer that his father told him to give to this mage here.
Without much else to do, the family of 3 along with an old mage set off on the road that same day, their destination? It’s Tranquillien of course! Where else would they headed to? Definitely not the Eastern Plagueland, that’s just suicide, getting to Tranquillien itself is already a harsh ordeal that must be overcome- luckily, they had a group of escorts, mainly his father Farstrider unit, consist of roughly a dozen of Farstriders.
The phrase “Farstrider” might be a bit much, as his father informed him about the hierarchy of the group, starting from the bottom up- which consist of a regular ranger or hunter who enlisted into the group, followed by “Farstrider” or member who had proven themselves, followed by Lieutenant, who co-op command the unit with the captain, which was the rank of his father, above that they have the Ranger captain who sole purpose is to command the leadership below him or her.
Above that are the Ranger Lord, who are mainly distinguished and revered members of the organization, the future Regent Lord, Lor’themar Theron was at this rank before he took the mantle of leader for the Blood Elves people- and finally, the most exalted member, the Ranger General, this rank held control of the Farstriders organization, as well as the military power of the nation.
The moment Aethas laid his eyes on his father subordinate, he was shocked to find that there is a sorcerer in the group! It was shocking for the fact that the Farstrider only mainly consist of the ranger class, or the rogue assassin class! Where the hell did this sorcerer come from?! Of course his father noticed the shocked expression that is all over his son face.
“Oh so you noticed? I guess you really do pay attention to my story huh?” father Aethas rolled his eyes seeing the boy shocked expression. “He is an exception, this is our group advisor, I was suppose to let him tutor you if you decide to not go to the Sunstrider Isle.” he then focus his gaze toward the easy going old elf that was professor Sunreach.
“But since we have this old bastard here, I guess we put off-set some stress our sorcerer had to deal with on a daily basis.” father Aethas leered at professor Sunreach, whom is currently messing with the surrounding wildlife with his magic. Judging by his father tone, there must be something fishy going on between the both of them, to cause his father of all people, to look at the old man as if he were his arch-nemesis.
With that said and done, all the necessary personnel had been gathered and ready for departure- they quickly went on their way toward the Ghostlands region and straight to Tranquillien, they need to get there as soon as possible, less they want to be ambush by the Wretches, Scourge, or in any case the common untamed wildlife in the woodland.
The thing that Aethas notice not long after he arrived on this “new” Azeroth, is that the world is huge, beyond the normal comparison, unlike that game which make traveling look like a joke due to the distances between locations, from Eversong Wood directly crossing over into the Ghostlands would take them at least a minimum of 2 days constantly traveling, stopping and rest at night would drag it out even further, it would take at least 3 days before they arrive at Tranquillien, a special note, their village was already near the border to begin with- and during those times, they will constantly be on their guard against their surroundings.
Luckily, Aethas and his mother, along with professor Sunreach doesn’t have to worry about standing up for nightwatch, as they were technically civilians, thus they leave the duty to the more capable rangers and farstriders of his father unit.
When they arrived at the border that separates Eversong Woods and the Ghostlands, his father stopped the convoy and look back at the carriage pulled by the Hawkstrider and smirked. “Girl, why don’t you just get out of that box, I’m sure it must be really uncomfortable squeezing yourself in there, and the last thing I want is to have such a young lady put herself in that situation for our bonehead of a son.” he chuckled as patted Aethas head, much to Aethas confusion of course, like what is he talking about? Who’s hiding?
“Ah!” oh an all too familiar voice, Aethas doesn’t really need any explanation now, he knew that voice all too well. “Valeera...why?” he facepalmed himself.
One of his minions, the capable secretary one, had managed to sneak herself into the convoy by hiding in an emptied out dry ration box.
