Prologue - Newborn Soul

Prologue - Newborn Soul

Prologue

In the 20th Upper Realm of the Universe~

Two Golden Dragons produced an egg after Eons of attempts. The egg itself is gold in color and was as brittle as mortal bones. This is the first immortal progeny produced between the two Golden Dragons and may also be the last. The two massive bodies that are larger than any galaxy stared at the egg that is the size of a house.

The two dragons are True Gods, where they are not dependent on beliefs, this means that they have trained Essence, Body, Spirit and Mental disciplines, along with having Souls that are nearly as old as the universe. However, they have not made the progress required to become creators and have reached a bottleneck.

The mother and father peeked at the egg’s soul only to find out that it was a Newborn soul, meaning that the soul was the first new soul in the past 100 millenia in the universe.

Newborn souls are tiny dots, smaller than an atom and cannot do much.

Think of the soul as a planet, and the memories are the air particles surrounding it stored in the cloud known as the spirit. Larger souls can store more memories that will carry over from past lives, albeit remembered only by dreams.

They are also are only found in Plants, as that is the only being which does not require a powerful soul to operate and reincarnates multiple times at a quick pace. The first realm is essentially an incredibly large forest with no other beings besides autonomous bugs to spread around pollen.

Only the creator can create souls or destroy them, meaning that their child has been born for some purpose.

“What do we do?” the mother asked, looking at the egg with a questioning look.

“Its soul is too young,” the father said with a frown.

“Well, there are ways to make the soul progress faster, but for a newborn soul, it would most likely die before it could control the body. It may be ageless, but it still requires food to grow and blood to move the nutrients. We spent years to make this egg and I will not let it go!”

“Should we use life magic and beat its heart for it?” he asked.

Think of the egg’s soul as an infant suddenly being given control of a fighter jet. The arms cannot even reach the controls to prevent it from crashing. The biggest problem here is that the control for the heart to pump is not within reach.

Normally, souls grow through interactions with the universe. However, new souls can only grow through reincarnation or through Holy Power.

“I think the only way to get around this problem is to ask the creator to come up with a solution. I will not let my newborn be equivalent to a stillborn!” she said.

[Creator! Wake up sleepy head!] she yelled through the mental channel that is only used for primal gods.

[What is it Eli?] he responded [I know of your conundrum, but it will cost you. Every being is supposedly equal, even your kind.]

[Wh... what is required?] she asked, suddenly afraid of a ridiculous price.

[I did not originally intend for a new soul to be born and proceed to your progeny, but I wanted to see where it would end up. I am not displeased as this supprise is quite interesting.]

Lazy creator…

[I heard that!]

[eek!] Eli lamented.

[Anyways, there is an easy but temporary fix for it to survive, but it is also a dangerous fix, which means that it will be exposed to the others. Unless you want me to kill her and bring in an older soul in place.]

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

[n… no, what is the fix?]

[The egg will need to be placed in the lower realms, preferably near locations that have no religions with actual gods. At this point in time, it would have to be placed in the 3rd realm, as it is now a magical creature and Belief can flow starting from people there.]

[I can see why this would be a problem] the egg’s father said, his eyebrows scrunched together. Everybody kept quiet for a minute, while they processed centillions of different possible scenarios, effectively predicting the future of the egg.

[I can see a high chance of survival if we keep it here, but by sending it off, the soul would actually grow to be able to control the body] he said, looking over at the female dragon, “It is your call.”

Eli stood there thinking a bit more but started crying.

[I didn’t know that True Gods could still cry. Not after developing their Divine Minds,] the creator joked at her.

[Hmph!] she snorted. [You just want our child to be ambushed by the others, don’t you? Although we have not had a God war in the past billion years, I’m sure that they would not want to see another True God Beast grow up if they know about it. They may even treat it as their pet!]

[Either it lives as a stillborn with a soul that cannot mature here or it grows up in where others can see it and possibly hurt it, growing its will at the same time becoming stronger then any of the Beasts here with due time,] the creator replied.

Eli and her mate sighed. This was a disaster, as their progeny is probably going to become the focus of the entire universe soon. The tallest tree in a forest is always the first to be cut down, especially if that tree is defenseless. They cannot directly protect the egg because they are not allowed to move into the Mortal Realms. They could create Avatars, but those would not last long.

Beasts are not known for gathering together in this higher realm and they are normally asleep. However, others, such as human mortal heroes and villains that have ascended into these upper realms are fairly active in controlling ‘Main Gods’ from the shadows to keep the realms 'alive' by plotting against each other in a game-like fashion to spend their time.

Gods are lesser beings who are only strong due to having beliefs. If they run out of believers, they will die and be reincarnated as a mortal again. Whereas a True God has grown with their own personal power, cultivating into Omniscient and Omnipotent beings.

This means that Gods eventually align with a True God for benefits, while Eli and her partner do not normally take part in lesser affairs.

They looked at each other, then sighed again. [We concede, but please allow us to at least give it some protection. It may have an immortal body, but it is not like it can survive in the void or being treated as a specialty meal for humans.]

[Agreed] the created spoke, then alerted the assembly, leaving the two dragons alone to stare at the egg.

“It’s his mistake, yet we cannot raise our son or daughter directly,” she said, “he could have at least halted time for the egg and put its soul in a tree for a million years. It is not like we are going to grow old anyway.”

“Just take it as him being impartial to all of the others,” he said, scrunching his dragon-brows “but still, putting our child in a lower realm is not a good thing. It may make the child grow up faster, but it has to hatch first and the others can calculate general locations just by intuition.”

The two parents performed several spirit, mind and body protections so that it could withstand the test of time and be protected from any enemies. These may not really stand up to a True God, but those beings cannot appear in a mortal realm without angering the creator. These protections could easily be destroyed by an armada of Gods working through Popes though since gods are still an army of ants that can take down an elephant.

– – – – – Another Domain of a Human True God – – – – –

“What?! A True God-Beast has been born?” a humanoid cultivator exclaimed with the news from the creator. Greed instantly appeared in his eyes. “The creator didn’t tell us what species it is, but he also didn’t tell us to not take advantage of it!”

The man was sitting on a golden throne surrounded by white angels who catered to his every whim, Beasts used as footrests, and God avatars scattered everywhere that were bowing.

“Atreyas!” he yelled at a main god, “locate this beast for me.”

True God Beasts are normally too strong to take down for a True God, but their bodies are invaluable as they have perfect Dao Law runes and formations carved into their bones, spirit, and soul. They also have enough talent to be able to sleep to increase in stages. They are also protected by their parents upon birth as they do not normally leave their domains.

“Y-Yes sir!” the man yelled, then bowed.

The creator did not tell them of what it is and where it is. However, this uproar went out of the creator’s control (as usual) and angels, demons or other beasts could be seen flying to the nearest neighbor True God Beast domains.
