The screen flickered and matching that flickering came the sounds of what onlookers could only assume wasn't something broken or demonic as the antennas were muddled and fiddled with. Each minor change in its position would result in another flicker of the screen which would be followed by either a groan of annoyance or a squeal of excitement from its sole watcher.
"Mom!" Seth yelled out in frustration, "You're not doing it right! If you don't do it right we won't be able to see them!"
"C'mon love give me a break." Seth's mother Ester replied with exasperation, "This is harder than it looks. You're lucky this darned thing even- ah! There we go." Satisfied, Ester took a step back as the antennas fell perfectly into place and the rounded glass screen lit up with a black-and-white image of men and women in sleek black clothing speaking to a massive crowd. From the side of the old tv, a piercing crackling sound came out before stabilizing and turning into an actual voice.
"- and we can say for certainty while this latest Dungeon was difficult and we lost many trusted and loved comrades in arms, the country gained just as much from those we lost. Ultimately, the Silverline Beast Dungeon Brigade was an absolute success, as we invite all of you watching from your homes to celebrate with us for these coming hours." The one who spoke was a short brown-haired woman who stood before the hunters, however, unlike the hunters behind her, she didn't wear combat gear and instead wore a business suit. And after she finished talking the crowd of reporters and bystanders began to clap softly. "We now stand open to any questions," she said, finishing her statement.
Several reporters of the crowd quickly rushed forward almost swamping the stage, each one waving their hands and microphones to grab her attention. The woman scanned the reporters before pointing at one of them to give him the chance to speak.
"Ms. Moore," the reporter began as the other reporters quieted down, "What do you have to say to your viewers, supporters, and critics who disagree with the policies put in place by your organization that discriminate against Unattuned Individuals?"

As the reporter spoke the suited woman seemed to suck in her teeth. However before she could retort, a silver-haired man pushed past his fellow hunters until he reached the front and grabbed the Microphone from her.
"You have a problem with hard work? Huh?" The old man said while glaring down at the reporter. "All you lazy fucks can go on and die for all I care." A gasp was heard throughout the crowd as he spoke, and young Seth couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the ghastly appearance of the woman in the suit as the silver-haired man continued despite her subtle nudges at him.
"You want to world to give you everything without doing any work, in turn, to actually earn what you want. Even if you have no talent, no skill, even if the world is against you, you have to grab life by the reigns and make it work for you! If you can't make it then you simply didn't try hard enough! If you don't like the way we do things then how about you get strong enough to change something yourself instead of sending others to do it for you." At this point he began looking directly at the camera, his eyes glowing with a passion that drove Seth to listen to his words almost as truth.
"So if you're tired of the world spitting on you, get stronger and spit right back at it! If you have the balls to work for it, become a Hunter and join us so you can actually do something with your life. And if not... Well, we don't need your lazy ass anyway."
The silver-haired man finally gave the microphone back to the younger woman, but at that point, Seth had practically tuned the interview out. With eyes full of wonder and passion Seth turned towards Ester. "Mommy, do you think I could become a Hunter too? Just like him?"
Ester was silent, horrified, and enraged by what she had witnessed. And yet when she looked into her son's eyes, she couldn't bear the thought of breaking his heart. With a solemn smile, Ester stepped forward and embraced her son, "Of course my love. I'm sure you'll grow big and strong... Stronger than anyone else."
At the time Ester smiled, but even at his young age, Seth was able to recognize the sadness in her eyes. It was a sadness that he wasn't able to understand at the time. But eventually he would come to understand that sadness and all the pain that came with it.
