chap 2

He hadn’t noticed it before, but his home was rather big. It was clean. The furniture looked expensive. It felt like it too. Especially Papa’s favorite chair. He had his own room and a large bed. The strange letters in the kitchen and bathrooms were magic arrays. He wasn’t the smartest, but he knew that it had to be expensive. Whatever his papa did at work had to pay handsomely.... or maybe mama’s job?

Now that he could crawl, mama and Papa hired a nanny. She looked older than Mama, but she was just as pretty. She made Mama look like her daughter. It made Yir afraid that Papa might be attracted to Lyn. He’d seen his eyes wander around her body a few times, but if Lyn noticed it, she didn't show it. Yir couldn’t blame his papa. Ms. Lyn stirred something in him too and he was only a toddler. She was blonde with blue eyes and flawless beauty.

Mama was beautiful. Miss Lyn was the word stronger than that. It may have something to do with her

large, pointed ears. The word that came to Yir’s mind was ‘elf ‘. He didn't know how he knew, but she was something similar. Her beauty wasn’t just her face, the rest of her body looked like mamas. Like she’d just given birth and all the weight went to her thighs and breast.

The first time Yir saw Ms. Lyn he wanted to drink her milk and she let him! It was even better than Mama and it did something inside him. It was like his stomach had the sun in it. It didn’t burn, but it was hot. Was this the weird flame Papa used?

He held on to the feeling of that heat in his stomach. He closed his eyes to concentrate. Suddenly he could see inside himself. There was a large red circle with veins coming out of it. It was like a heart, except the blood from it was faint. Was this the flame?

“What are you doing, young man? Ms. Lyn’s voice took him out of space. She had a stern look on her face like the time she caught him trying to lie on her chest.

Yir pointed toward his stomach and uttered. “Circle. Fire like Papa.” Yir made slicing motions. “Fight like papa! Magic!”

Ms. Lyn's brow went up. “You saw a core in your stomach?” she asked.

“Yes! Magic!” She ignored Yir’s shadow fighting and fighting noises. “Do they know their son is a third-generation magician?”

Lyn Nived was an ex-adventurer. In her younger days, she was one of the wives of the king of the Willowood empire. That was until she fled after her husband’s death. More like an assassination. After King Willwood's death, his brother, Lye Willwood took over. She knew he had eyes for her even when her husband was alive. Lyn decided to flee. Only to be caught before she could leave the compound. She was captured and broken by Lye.

Though showered with the wealth of royalty, her heart was not with King Lye. He lacked what made King Willwood her life partner. He was brave, daring, caring, and a warrior. He cared nothing for caste or wealth class. He treated all equally from whore to priest. His ways of governing rubbed other royals the wrong way naturally. In the end, his own family turned on him. From siblings to his wives. All except Lyn.

She bore Lye’s seed and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She hated herself for it. Did she have a choice? Of course. Life or death. She may not have been forced physically but her choices were slim. She hated her son who grew to be like his father. She refused to raise that man’s cursed spawn. Lye didn’t kill her for it nor did his treatment stop to her surprise.

She almost cracked and let him in like the others, but she looked at the locket given to her by King Willwood and steeled her resolve. She would escape her prison by fate or her own hands. Her prayers were answered when an A -A-ranked monster outbreak turned her home into rubble. She escaped by the skin of her teeth only to get enslaved in a neighboring town. Luckily, a tall man with wild hair and a mean face came to her rescue.

On the road, her enslavers laughed and drank. They didn’t ‘ruin’ the merchandise, but they did other vile things. She did what she had to survive, and she lucked out again. On the way to the enslaver's hideout, the caravan was attacked, and a clash happened. It is a one-sided clash against one man. He was a first-generation magician, and his martial arts were fierce. His blade was light and sharp.

There were no wasted movements. Every swing removed a limb. The battle had to last a mere two minutes before it was done. She watched her savior take a deep breath to calm himself before his eyes landed on hers. That's when she first met Alexander. It was the first time in a while that her womanly parts tingled.

She didn’t know they would meet years later. She looked for work across the Kingdom of Ani and couldn’t find anything suitable for her talents... which weren’t much besides her body. A noble family picked her up for a nanny job. She knew the man only wanted her around for her goods. She met Alexander at the nobles' home with his pregnant wife. The noble was his brother. She didn't want to be used again and her savior was in front of her. Fate aligned this for her. She pleaded with Alexander and Nyx to take her.

Surprisingly, Nyx agreed. Lyn thought that his wife would be intimidated by her looks. Though Nyx was beautiful, few human women could match the average elf. Turns out, Nyx had a thing for women and Alexander didn’t mind at all. They agreed that she could be the nanny after she gave birth and Lyn was more than grateful for it.

She had never cared for a child as intelligent as Yir. It wasn’t his words or even his actions. No, it was his eyes. Those eyes told her the boy who was barely seven months old hid secrets. She’d seen those eyes in the most ancient of elves. Yir was a curious boy who crawled away whenever her eyes left him. It was always to Alexander’s study. At first, she thought it was funny. Maybe he’d left something in there, but she’d check. It was the same as always. Yir tried to reach for books, maps, or anything with letters on it. Why was a seven-month-old so obsessed with reading? Shouldn’t he be playing with his poop or outside with the other kids?

No, Yir wanted books. He wanted knowledge. She could see it when he watched Alexander train. He watched so intently that he almost fell on his face. Lyn couldn’t explain it and it felt wrong. Something was off with the boy. Then there was the thing with her breast. He was addicted to them; constantly drinking her milk and trying to lie between them. When did young boys become so perverted? Maybe he inherited it from his father? Lyn knew firsthand of his... prowess.

Lyn brought the matter up to Alexander and Nyx. They both knew he was too smart for his age. Nyx feared that a spirit possessed him, but there was nothing negative. There was simply too much off with his behavior. Yir was too calm, too smart, he didn't cry, and he was too mature. Most people would love that in their children. Those who lived in the magic world understood there were signs of spirits taking over dead children.
