God's Domain Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The other Gods and I socialized a bit, and I found out that they were also all coma patients, and had no idea what the act that the window mentioned was.

ding!

Warning! Please note that you may not discuss the real world in Fields of Eternia so as not to disrupt the integrity of the world's lore. If you have to, say things extremely vague. Continuing this behavior may result in the reduction Divine Power. If you are purposefully trying to undermine the lore of the game, we will turn you into a blacksmith NPC, or even a cockroach. Don’t test us.

I looked up, and the grim look on all of the other Major God’s faces showed they all got the same message.

Thoth decided to start steering the conversation in another direction, which was mainly about what kinds of skills or abilities we had.

Everyone had the same communicate, teleport, bestow, temple, and high priest skills, but we all had one unique skill outside of the combat or production ones. Thoth decided to call these unique skills ‘godly skills’. Athena had both combat skills for spears, shields, and heavy armor, and a kind of mind reading ability, although she swears it’s more of determining actions instead of thoughts. For example, she could determine if you were about to back stab her, but not what you were going to have for dinner tonight.

Apollo had a combat skills for bows, and also had some bard skills.

His unique ability was to sing a song so powerful, that it could put his enemies to sleep, or even mind control them depending on their willpower and his charisma. As he tells us this, I was painfully reminded of my abysmally low willpower. Was it because I committed suicide?

Thoth had some kind of ability to tell truth from lie, and find out knowledge from books and stuff, While Demeter had gardening and potion making production skills, and the unique ability to grow plants faster.

Kali had light armor, and the quad blades skill, which had to do with the fact that she had four arms, all wielding daggers. She also had the ability to make somebody with less willpower than her go onto a rampage, destroying everything in sight.

Damn, there goes that willpower again.

Ares had all of the close combat skills, and I mean all  of them. He also had a skill that created a large aura around him that buffed allies, and applied fear to enemies based on, you guessed it, willpower.

Crap, I really need a way to raise that.

Cupid had some archery abilities, a charm level in the hundred thousands, and the ability to make people fall in love with each other based on, yet again, their willpower.

Mielikki was an archer with some bow skills, and the unique ability to control beasts in the Mortal Realm.

And that just left me, with some stupid ability to basically, more or less, read a newspaper.

I really felt left out.

I decided not to tell anybody about my huge weakness in willpower, and instead will try to find out later through books or something to raise my willpower. I don’t really get what the rules are for using abilities like charm on other gods are. Does it count as attacking? Or is cupid in his rights as a love god to make me look like a freaking idiot. Ergh! I hate this so much! Will Cupid actually influence my mind, or just make my body go on autopilot like with the event. Either way, I’ll kill that fucker if he tries anything. Or at least make his life a living hell.

Finally, we decided to finish up and talk with the Minor Gods. We all teleported back to the Amphitheater and went through the doors that Death had indicated earlier.

Surprisingly, we only found a couple of other gods there, and it seemed like all of the other ones left. After questioning a god of sailing, Thoth found out that all of the other gods had left to go to their Domain, as it was, and I quote ‘totally rad, dude.’

At that point, Thoth told the group that he will also leave to check out his Domain, and that the others may do as they please. I suddenly realized that all of us have been following Thoth's direction for quite a while now. I wonder if that’s because he seems confident, or maybe because he's really smart and knowledgeable in a world full of unknowns.

Thinking about it, I decided that there wasn’t much else to do, so I too teleported to my domain. Focusing on myself, I activated teleport. Suddenly, I was in a large Greek temple. ‘Cool’ I thought to myself. There was a huge golden ten foot tall scale on one side of the room, and a giant mirror that spanned throughout the entire floor and all of the walls.

ding!

Welcome to your Domain. Your Domain is a place of rest, relaxation, and healing. You may spend some money to customize it to your wishes. The mirror set around the room may be willed to show anywhere in your sphere of influence. Your sphere of influence currently involves a 10 meter radius around all shrines, a 50 meter radius around all followers, a 200 meter radius around your high priest,  the inside and 100 meters outside of a city where you have a temple, and inside and 500 meters outside a city where you have a first temple.

Current sphere of influence:

Shrines: 100

Normal Temple: 7

First Temple: 1

High Priest: 1

NPC followers: 300

Player followers: 0 (players must reach level 10 before choosing to following a deity)

Instantly, the mirror underneath my feet turns into a large map of the land, which is split into eight different countries, with all of my temples being in the capital’s of each country. My first temple appeared to be in a tiny country in the center of the continent, which was named the merchant city of Kello.

Hmmm... Merchant cities seem like perfect places to set up a religion, lots of comings and goings to spread everything.

You can bring up your god statistics at any time by saying ‘god statistics’

You can also bring up your follower skills at any time by saying ‘follower skills’

You may edit follower skills, however the more powerful the skill is, the higher devotion to the god is needed, and the higher the cost. It is recommended that you create a large amount of skills for both lower leveled players, and higher leveled players.

Making skills? Sweet...

Hey guys! Fairsky here! I currently have up to chapter 9 saved, and I've just decided to slowly release them over time.

I do plan on having God's Domain going into a more action-y route later on, I'm just trying to build the background and story right now.

Thanks for reading!
