Chapter 4 is up, finally.
My vacation are now over, and with work, I'd less time to write , I will release as fast as I can. I want the story to move on but it's need the foundation before that so I will work hard ^^

Chapter 4 : Two months passed ;
It’s been a week since I started living in the forest, It’s a peaceful place, if you make abstraction of the monsters that live here too. I had a few battle already but nothing dangerous, thanks to my skill I was capable to handle anything that reside here and so , I had no problem with my food supply.
I started my training without delay, I want to be strong enough to handle myself and anything or anyone who might come at me. I do basics physical exercises, 6 hours per day, I start every morning with a two hours jogging and for good measure I attached rocks on my wrists, back, waist and legs and don’t use my skills. Then I do 1000 push-ups and other variations, it’s surprising how my new body can handle those things way more easily .
I was doing so at the camp but two days ago I found a lake in the middle of the forest so I started doing it inside the water, it’s really difficult to move while being restricted by, so it’s good practice and an effective one. And for the end I meditate for one to two hours, I don’t know if it’s really useful but , while doing so I try to manipulate my mana, without result so far, but I will persevere ! After that I practice my swords skills, I do shadow battle with my mind, even if I don’t had opponents, I have a good imagination so it’s not bad. I pass the afternoon to practice magic, practicing my void magic, bending it to my mind. I also try to understand the processus hide below the chants of my spells but i did no progress so far, it’s not that simple.
And every evening after training I will ate dinner looking at the sky , It ‘s a wonderful sky full of stars, it’s not the same that my old world, I couldn’t find any constellations that I know. But the most fascinating thing is the moon, the moons. Two, well it looks like one that has been split in two, a perfect cut that can not have been done by a meteor, maybe it’s magic. After all I don’t know anything about this world and its history.

It’s been a month already that I’m here, time sure fly by quickly. I had increase the weights I carry, the numbers of repetition in my physical training to. Also now I practice my swords skills underwater for more challenge. Why the change ? It’s because I almost died 3 day ago when I encountered a bear. He had a dark brown fur extremely hard, and when I said hard, I mean it ! I couldn’t cut it at all, event with the void.
So at death door I managed to stabbed him in the head with a new skill, created on the heat of the moment, a last resort, [Void enchant]. When I was about to die, in my last and desperate attempt, I imbued my sword with my void, unconsciously and it worked.
But when I absorbed the bear I was disappointed to see that it wasn’t a skill, probably a property of his fur, so I kept it. I will have to find someone that can make me a new armor with it.

It’s been one month and 3 weeks since I enter the forest and I can now feel a barrier. I didn’t do much progress lately. I can’t carry more rocks when I run and practice due to size issue . And my magic and swordsmanship seems stucked, without a trainer or proper opponent I don’t feel like I can do much progress now.
So I established a routine of 4 hours exercises and practice and spent the rest of the day meditate and trying to manipulate my mana. I had a small result but nothing probent . I managed to make the water waving a little but I didn’t managed to generate the skill and it took me 3 hours of meditation to do so, plus a pebble would have been more efficient … So yeah I’m completely stuck, it seems that the end of my forest life as come.

It has been two month now, well 60 days is more accurate since I don’t know how long are the months in this world. As the sun was setting up, I was preparing all my stuff, I don’t have very much, some wolfs fur and meat, the bear special ubber-resistant fur and that would be all. I had make bag with some of the fur and the rope for travel and now I am ready to take off. You could hear a “woosh” sound in the forest as I was moving in straight line at maximum speed, I imagine it at 110 km per hour, I am sure I could go faster if it was not for the trees.
As I arrive at the edge of the forest I could see the road a hundred meter away so I took an impulsion to propel myself into the air and make it in one go. One jump about 5 to 8 meters up and I landed on the road with a very loud sound and a ton of dust flying around. As the dust disappear my sensor immediately warn me , and I look to the right to see a carriage with about 10 guards.
*Damn it I should have active my sensor, it automatically detect thing if there are close by but not far enough fuck ! I could have make a better, less flashy entrance . Well sorry, don’t mind me, I just make mess ….*
Indeed All the guards were ready to draw their swords, even if they all have a dumbfounded face, which is quite naturally when you just saw a man jump 100 meter and land in front of you. But I don’t wanna any trouble so I detourn my glare and start walking in the same direction as them, I go that way too so it can be helped. I don’t want to run anymore, 4 hours of running at full speed between the trees is enough for the day so I walked fast to distance myself. Half hour after they’re nowhere to be seen so I guess they don’t move really fast.
*I wonder who was in that carriage, some nobility or so ? Well I don’t really care …*
As I walk I can enjoy the landscape again, this region is pretty damn beautiful, on my right there is the forest who keep going until it dies on the mountains in the background. On my left there’s only grassland, as far as I can see with a majestic blue skies without any clouds. In front of me , the road keep going until I lost its track in the valley. The sun is very high in the sky, whose radiant and warm englobe everythings. It’s not too hot, the perfect weather, like spring, when you can go outside with light closes without be frozen or melted .
After one and a half hour since the “carriage incident” I start to get hungry so I find a nic tree with a nice shade not to far from the road to put down my ass to eat some wolf meat that I had cooked yesterday. Yeah I like the sun but, too much sun kill the sun, plus while eating it can be unpleasant. Ah by the way my stats and skills look like that now :

Yeah it’s not too shabby considering that two month before I had 10 everywhere. But I don’t really know the standards of this world, if you look to the thieves form before, sure now they are just bugs in front of me but maybe they were bugs to start with, half-asset useless thieves. I know the ranking but not what it really mean, not the amount of strength it refers ….
As I was lost in my though, I felt the presence of the carriage, eleven souls, 1.5 km away, that the max range of my [Presence Sensor]. But that’s not all I felt, soon after I discern another presence 30 meters away from the carriage , at the edge of the forest, and another, and another. 14 people just came out of the forest and make their way toward the carriage.
*This is strange ….*
While saying that to myself, 4 presences, of who I assume to be guard disappear in a moment. It’s means one thing, their dead … It shocked me a little and then I realised.
*It must be bandits … damn it, what do I do … *
I realise that I want to be strong for myself, there is nothing here that i want to protect beside my life. I will not hesitate to kill for that, but even if I am not a hero, I’m not some kind of cold person that would watch people died in front of me, especially from the kind of thief, I have a grudge with them after all, so it’s time to see if I can help. Don’t get me wrong, I will observe first, if it is some suicidal fight I will go back on the road asap, minding my own business, my life first after all …
I let my stuff at the tree and dash toward the scene, and in mere second I am next to the battle, well the carnage . 6 guards are dead and the other take cover behind the carriage. The bandits played smart, 3 archer keep firing at them, keeping them for trying anything . As I analyze the scenery before me , I guess the strenght of my hypothetical opponents, three archers, 2 mages, 3 with daggers , 2 with axes and 4 swordsmans. But I can take on them, easily actually . I am 150 meters away from them and they still didn’t notice me. Two lightning step can put me at sword range. I had yet to identified their leader but I don’t care, the mages will be my first target, next the archers and after that I will follow the flow.
With my plan done, it’s time to move. As I predicted, two lightning steps and I appear before one of the mages causing surprised and confusion among them. But I don’t planning to take my time, with my void and a gesture of my right hand, the first head rolls on the floor in a fountain of blood.
I don’t stop and dash toward the archer, the second mage falling on the ground with the hole in his chest. Appearing in front of the archer, he react and throw a punch at me, I block with my left arm and with my right hand, I stole his sword and struck it into him, I spin behind him while two arrow hit his body, then I dash toward one of two archer and cut one of his leg as I pass by him and appear behind, in front of the remaining bowman, and slit his throat and turn back piercing the skull the second archer , front to back while he was kneeling holding his leg. Five down, nine to go.
Since the beginning, only 10 sec as pass and the other bandits just start to react and rush at me. The first two go down instantly as i sliced them with the void, the other stop instantly trying to comprehend what happened and what kind of monster is before them.
“ WHAT ARE YOU DOIN’ , KILL THIS FUCKER NOW !!!”
I assume that the man who yelled and who remain at the back is their chief so without wasted a second I throw the sword that I holding, the one that I stoled to the first archer, piercing the air it fly right into the skull’s man, He goes down and let the 3 remaining thieves paralyzed. It’s over the next seconds when six body parts fall to the ground, 3 legs pairs and 3 upper bodies .
Bloodbath, Carnage, Massacre, slaughter, butchery. This is the only set of words you could use to describe the scene. Blood dyeing the ground and grass in a dark almost black red. As the battle ends only the silence remain, a solemn one, where only the wind can be heard , carrying the scent of blood, odor of the death. I am standing here , in the middle of the corpses and I contemplate my work. I don’t feel anything while I had just murdered, exterminated 14 peoples in a mere instant. This is me now, or maybe it always had. Maybe it’s the reason while I didn’t have many friends in my old life, maybe I’d always have that in me. Refouled in the abyss of my own soul because it didn’t fit with my world’s moral. I can kill, I had killed and I will kill, every time it is necessary, every time it is deserved.
After this intense introspection, I proceed and absorb everyone of them even if it doesn’t prove to be very useful. I take all their gold, one bow and one quiver and the large sword of the chief that I attach to my back before heading toward the carriage.
