The morning sun awakened the village of Gordonol, which was bustling with activity. The housewives were doing their jobs, ranging from cleaning, to laundry, to cooking, to dealing with the children, while the old of the village met up to drink and remininsce of times long past. The men were either out at the farms, or doing their trades, just like Godrics master, the Blacksmith Zehna. Zehna had gone out for awhile, leaving Godric of the store to take care of things, and that is what Godric was doing. From sharpening the old and dull blades and tools left by the other villagers, to cooling down the flaming red weapons his Master had left to cool overnight by dipping them into water. He detailed the hilts of weapons, and burned sigils into the blades.
Godric walked into the inn, leaving the door swinging behind him when he suddenly heard a roar come from deep within the inn "Godric, you lil' shit" a hoarse voice echoing across the inn floor "Havn't I told ya I'll bash ya head in if ya keep fuckin' with my front door?" suddenly, the owner of the voice appeared from within the kitchen of the inn. The voice belonged to a giant of a man, who had to bend over within his own inn. Long unruly hair, a thick beard almost as tall as Godric himself, and a eyepatch. This was the infamous 'Bartender', the man who had no past, and ran the only inn within Gordonol.
Godric simply laughed off the Bartenders threat "If you were going to kill me, I'd be dead by now ya old bastard" following Godrics words, the Bartender gave him a short grunt "Give me the usual, I need to be out of it for when Zehna scolds me when he gets back" Godric said as he slumped into a chair. The bartender nodded, pouring a thick glass of whisky before rolling it to Godric .
"Drink and get out, you still owe me 6 months of alcohol you little bastard" the hoarse voice pierced into Godrics skull. Godric simply whimpered quietly as he downed his whiskey and walked out, giving the Bartender a short glare before bolting out the door.
The, very second Godric had left the Inn. He saw a group of people surrounding something. Godric rushed to the scene, hoping it was a fight and hoping it wasn't. But, when he got there. It was clear It wasn't a fight. Instead it was 5 knights walking forwards without speaking to the hord of questions rolling into their ears. Like, "Whey are ye 'ear?" and "Anything, we can do sirs?". Godric, was worried as hell. It, was unusual for even 1 knight to come. But, 5 of them?! He had to know what was going on. Just, then something grasped his shoulder and pulled him back so fast, he nearly fell down when he landed. It, was Zehna. The Blacksmith of Gordonol.
"Godric! What, are ye doin' here! Have, ya finished with the shop already! Any, customers?" Shouted Zehna at Godric with his yellowey tooth.
"Yes, I have finished with thy shop. And no. No, customers. But, a man came and asked for a uhhhh- Sword, detailed with serpents and arachnids." Lied Godric. Zehna, would always get angry if there were no customers when he left Godric in charge. He, thought thy wouldn't buy anything from him since they thought he was weird. Zehna, grunted then said.
"Get, back to the shop. I, have one more matter I have to deal with." And like that Zehna made, his way to the Knights.
Stopping In-front of them. Zehna, looked them up and down. And, apperantly so did they. The knights smiled but that quickly faded, they saw the Massive axe on his belt. They grasped the hilt of their swords.
"Move, village-man. You, wouldn't want us to get angry. You, have no Idea what we can do." Said the Knight In front of the others.
Zehna, kept his ground firm. "No, you move."
He, said with his deep voice. Zehna clearly scared the knights as They took a step back. You, see Zehna was massive. Atleast, the size of 2 knights. The, knights looked at him big eyed. They, weren't used to gettin defied by such men. The same guard took out a quarter of his sword, showing Zehna how it shined, and frankly attempting to threatin' him.
"You, think I'm supposed to be scared? I've, fought a horde of mountain trolls alone. You'd, think 5 guards would be hard for me to kill? Now, tell me. Why are you here?" Said Zehna, in his intimidating voice.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
"Is, that a threat!" Shouted, the knight at the very back.
"Yes. Now, I will ask you again. Whey are ye here?" Repeated Zehna. The, knights clearly didn't want trouble as the one who took out the sword put it back in. "Don't, make me ask again."
"We, came here by the order of the king to alert you. The, country is going to war. We, came here to ask for some extra soldiers, you might be able to hand to the king." Said the knight as he was trembling in fear.
"We, have no men to give you. Now, go back to your king and tell him you didn't find any." Said Zehna in his mighty deep intimidating voice. At, these words. The knights walked to their wagon that they arived in trying to seem like nothing happend. While, they felt like shitting themselves. The Knights steel armor left a deep imprint with every step they took. 3cm deep was the footprint left behind by them. Their aura sweeped through the villagers, making the villagers feel weak at their knees. Even the strongest woodcutter, who carried large logs, weighing at least a hundred kilos, didn't leave a footprint deeper than half a cm in the ground. It showed just how powerful these knights were compared to the average commoner. Zehna, who blocked the path of the knights, looked to appear as if he was exuding something, like a aura. But Godric, nor any of the other villagers were capable of feeling it. The knights on the other hand, felt it very clearly. They were petrified. Why was someone so powerful hiding in this backwater village? Zehna's aura overshadowed theirs, and made them feel like little children faced with a Great Grizzly bear.
They, boarded their wagons and were leaving. The, horses was going suprisingly slow, enough for someone to walk past it. Godric, saw what happend and couldn't help but think about fighting in the war. He, had always wanted to feel the thrill. It, was a minute decision. Would, he go and board the wagon secretly leaving everything behind? He, wanted the adventure. Yes, he would do it. He would go, and tell Zehna he was going. So, Godric rushed to the blacksmith and told him he was leaving.
"I'm, going Zehna." Said Godric.
"Going, where boy?" Asked Zehna.
"With, the knights." Replied Godric.
"In, your dreams boy." Said Zehna laughing a little.
"No! I'm, serious. I'm, going." Said Godric again.
"No." Said Zehna once more.
"You, can't decide for me! You, know I wanted this since I was a kid! You, can't take it away from me when I have the opportunity." Shouted Godric at Zehna.
"Fine, but you think they would take you huh? I, told them to clearly fuck off. They, won't take anyone from this village." Replied Zehna.
"I, can try." Repeated Godric. And, like that He had wooshed off to his room, grabbed his most valuable things. And, just as he was leaving. He cast one last look at his room. The, bear head Zehna had put over his bed as a present when he was 9, and the piece, of wood Zehna had made look like a sword but left a circle at the top so Godric couldn't stab anyone, When Godric turned 13. Godric, took some food and water with him. Then he, finally bolted out the door, with his backpack swinging on his back. He, jumped onto the back of the wagon. Then, climbed to the top and layed there. Casting, a look back at the village once a while. He, could have sworn, that someone the size of 2 Knights was waving at him. It, was hard to make out thoe. And, finally. The Village had been swept out of view by the trees. Godric's, dream was coming true. He, was going to become a Knight! Godric, smiled at the thought of this. He, closed his eyes and drifted off to a goods night sleep.
