The Prolouge

Godlike Prologue

Imagine a world where dreams come true, where the impossible awaits, and where things you've only imagined become reality. Take all your childhood innocence, where you could be the hero or princess, and battle against mythical monsters, and unholy demons. Now compress that into a new world, that is what awaits in Forever Eden Online. Escape the masses, grasp at power and prominence and Unleash Your Inner Adventurer.

16 year old Alexander Rose rolled from his bed still groggy from last night's endeavor. His body was covered in numerous bumps and bruises that he had endured from what he would later recall as hell on earth.

"Ow ow ow, this game better be worth it" Alex grumbled

The game he was referring to was the highly anticipated Forever Eden Online. It was announced a year ago and was still shrouded  in mystery, there were countless rumors and hype, but a ridiculously low amount of actual facts to corresponded to them. All that was known about the game was three facts that came from its lone website and worldwide aired commercial.

• The world's first VRMMORPG, equipped with a one of a kind super computer AI and a automatic multilingual translator that allowed for worldwide play

• A completely unbiased system where anything and everything is possible with hundreds of undiscovered races and an infinite amount of hidden classes

• First 10,000 copies sold 1 month before its expected release date.

This was interesting because the site or commercial didn't specify exactly where these few copies would be sold or how many would be sold at each retailer, so logically avid gaming fans went into an absolute frenzy searching for where these few copies could be.

Alexander received his copy with a combination of single-minded determination and luck. Bored with his everyday routine, he was immediately started to explore the internet for his copy, and continued his search for a full six months until he "came across" (hacked) a private chat room where the participants were excitedly talking about making sure to keep the location of the store (which was conveniently placed 100 miles away)  a "secret", on the internet? Amateurs, Alexander chuckled as he recalled the badly spelled chat page. After finding the page he quickly began encrypting it and protecting it with numerous pc killing viruses from anyone who happened to come across it as he did. He was thorough so this process took and additional week, he was confident that this page could crash the CIA's main computer.

Most people would view this as excessive, but in Alex's mind this sort of calculating procedure would qualify as the norm. Alexander had been called a genius throughout all his life, which in fact would be far from the truth. He wasn't born with excessive brilliance but he did possess an avid curiosity and a stubborn personality that hated to lose in anything he cared about. You may not believe that this could cause much of a difference in a child's development, but the affects do add up.

For example, Alex doesn't understand math, so he studies until he can write an award winning dissertation at the age of 4. Alex's mom has back pain, so he memorizes every pressure point on the human body to relieve her. Alex's computer has a virus, so he designs and builds a super computer powerful enough to run 4 different satellites simultaneously, the point is he will strive forward until his goals are met no matter the obstacle.

After stretching for a few minutes Alex heads toward his already installed capsule. Even though he had tried to explicitly to hide the location  and even arriving a week early to the pre-sales there was already a large crowd. The fact that he got the last copy was due to a large part the crowd "suddenly" feeling drowsy and falling asleep. Of course Alex wasn't responsible for the sleep inducing gas that was released, (directly) but he didn't bother staying any longer than necessary.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"Well hopefully this will be entertaining" Alex replied with a wry smile, while stepping into the capsule. Immediately his vision darkened and was blinded by a white light. When his eyes readjusted he was in an all white room. He was greeted by a cheery female voice, as he regained his senses.

The scan on your iris and vein has determined that you are an unregistered user. Do you want to create a new account?

"Yes"

Since you are part of the starting adventurers you are allowed one reasonable request of your choosing

Interesting, he expected a boost for being part of the first to 10,000 but the AI gave him more freedom than he was expecting, he began contemplating the wheels already turning in his head.

Select the name of your avatar.

Hmm he had neglected to think about his name much, after struggling for a bit he picked a named he felt was dignified yet not too snobby " I'd like it to be Cassius"

Select your gender

"Male" he said quickly, 16 years of one gender would make it hard to get used a new one, he thought logically.

Forever Eden Online has a total 50 known races. You may select your race from the primary twenty...

He took a look at the list of potential races and was slightly disappointed, he's seen all these races already and maintaining the status quo was not something he prided himself with

"Excuse me"

Yes

"May I choose a different race from the primary selected"

No I'm afraid you cannot,  you must choose from the primary races. You may  restart character creation at a later time if more races have been found, or if you meet the necessary requirements in game to change races.

Hmm he still didn't feel like resigning to fate, when he remembered he had an ace up his sleeve "May I use my request to choose a race not yet found?"

Let me check...

Request denied, Not Reasonable

Alex maintained his calm since he had expected as much, but he was not done yet " I understand, how about instead I use my request to select a random race that has yet to be found?"

Checking...

Request accepted, are you sure you want a random race selected?

"Yes" though he hated leaving things to luck, he hated being ordinary more and was self-assured he would succeed regardless of his races weaknesses.

Race humanoid in nature, please select your appearance

Yes!!! This was going to make adapting to the game that much easier" Alex could be considered relatively attractive so he wasn't worried to much about appearance, so he gave himself something he's always wanted." Yes can I get a specific tattoo on my upper arms, I want spiraling engraving from every past civilization...yes just like that thank you" he said beaming

Your account has been activated. Your stats and class shall be determined while you are playing Forever Eden Online.

Your race has been determined, you have been born a GOD

Welcome to Forever Eden, good luck on your journey as you Unleash Your Inner Adventurer

Wait...Wah?

Suddenly his vision darkened once more, Alex's last thought was "Why me?"
