Chapter 2: Convergence

Chapter 2: Convergence

I didn’t move as the creature lunged towards me, its massive claws outstretched, its eyes burning with primal fury. It was an B-ranked beast, Mutated Wolf. To any other, it would have been a death sentence.

But to myself, it was nothing more than a distraction.

With a single, effortless motion, I raised my hand and caught the creature by the throat. The beast thrashed and snarled. I stared into its eyes, his expression one of mild amusement.

“A mere being, dares to touch me like that.” I said softly, my voice carrying an edge of cold menace. “You are but a speck in the grand scheme of things. A fleeting shadow in the presence of true power.”

With a flick of my wrist, I snapped the creature’s neck, its body crumpling to the ground in a lifeless heap. I looked down at the fallen beast, a faint sense of satisfaction stirring within me.

“Yes,” I said quietly, my eyes glinting with a renewed sense of purpose. “This world may have changed, but it still has its uses. Perhaps there is still something here worth my time.”

And with that, I turned and walked away, leaving the ruined city behind. I had returned to Earth, and the world would never be the same again.

I continued walking through the desolate streets, my mind occupied with thoughts of this changed world. There was something off, something that nagged at the back of my mind. I felt... diminished. The raw power that once flowed through me like a raging river now felt like a mere trickle. It was unsettling.

I raised his hand, examining it closely. Normally, a single gesture could reshape mountains, split oceans, or incinerate an entire city. But when I had struck the dungeon’s entrance, the impact had been far less than I intended. Even the B-ranked creature, which should have disintegrated upon my touch, had required more effort than it should have.

"What is this?" I muttered, frustration creeping into my voice. I focused inward, reaching out to the divine essence that had once been his strength, but I found it oddly muted, like a roaring fire reduced to embers.

Suddenly, a faint glow caught my attention. I turned my gaze downward and noticed a small, ethereal screen hovering in front of me. It was transparent, with letters and symbols flickering across its surface. I frowned, recognizing it as something akin to the systems mortals used in their dealings with the dungeons.

[System Notification]

Power Sealed: 99%

Reason: Unfulfilled Conditions

To Unseal: Complete the following conditions—

1. Defeat 10,000 dungeon creatures (current progress: 1/10,000).

2. Obtain the Essence of an S-Rank Creature (current progress: 0/1).

3. Reclaim the Throne of the Fallen Gods (current progress: 0/1).

My eyes narrowed as I read the text. my powers were sealed. The very thought was an affront to my being. I had never been bound by anything—neither by other gods nor by the laws of the universe itself. Yet here I was, limited by some unknown force, requiring me to jump through hoops to reclaim what was rightfully mines.

"So, this is the game I must play," I said, my voice tinged with a mix of irritation and intrigue. The system was foreign, yet it felt strangely familiar, as if some ancient force had decided to test me, to see if I was still worthy of my former power.

The first condition seemed straightforward enough. Defeating 10,000 creatures would be tedious but not particularly challenging, even in my weakened state. The second condition, obtaining the Essence of an S-Rank Creature, was also within my grasp, though it would require more effort. The third condition, however, was more puzzling. Reclaiming the Throne of the Fallen Gods—what could that mean?

I had left the celestial realm in disarray, with no intention of returning. Well, I was either kicked or sealed. Had something happened in his absence? Had other gods risen to take my place, or had they fallen into ruin? The thought of confronting whatever awaited me there stirred a faint sense of excitement within me, something I hadn’t felt in centuries.

"Very well," I said, my lips curling into a smirk. "If these are the terms, then I shall meet them. It seems this world has more to offer than I first thought."

With renewed purpose, I began to move, my steps confident and deliberate. my first target was clear: he needed to hunt down more dungeon creatures. As I walked, the dungeon loomed in the distance, its dark energy beckoning to me. There would be no shortage of prey within its depths.

But I also knew that he needed information—information about the current state of the world, the dungeons, and the Throne of the Fallen Gods. My journey was just beginning, and while the challenges ahead were vast, I relished the opportunity to prove, once again, that I was the greatest god of all.

The world may have changed, but I was determined to reclaim it's rightful place. The sealed power within me was not lost—merely waiting to be unleashed once more. And when it was, the world would tremble at my return.
