It was not day. It was not night. Motes of multi-colored light danced in the wind as it blew furiously through the nature defying landscape. Vibrant sequoias grew from the arid desert. Patches of both frozen and unfrozen water littered the landscape, some floating in the air swirling about. A rocky cliff covered in gravestones rose to one side of the landscape, while a deep crevice filled with lava decorated another.
A man sat in the center where sand met liquid and howling wind met absolute stillness. He lounged on a throne of jagged glass and tossed a seven foot tall halberd like a frisbee through the air.
“Was this your doing?” Battar’Vedel, God of Gods, asked. He didn’t like to come here. It was unseemly for the Supreme Leader to enter another God’s realm like a common messenger boy. But, Chaos was hard to work with. Always had been.
“Badel! It's been centuries, and you don’t even ask how I’ve been doing?” Chaos said with a pout. “Is that the way to treat your sweet little brother?”
“Maybe I’d treat you better if you stopped calling me by that immature nickname,” Battar’Vedel paused before adding with gritted teeth, “Chrysalin’Helio.”
“Now where’s the fun in that! You gotta call me Chelio,” Chrysalin’Helio said as he caught his jagged halberd from its loop through the air.
“Now, what was it you required of me and my humble knowledge?” He said while tapping his halberd against his head.
“You know sometimes things escape me, it gets pretty crazy around here.” A chuckle escaped his lips as he jumped to his feet atop his uneven throne, starting to dance upon the sharp edges.
“You know damn well why I’m here. It is only out of respect for our kinship that I’m coming here in person instead of simply locking you away for a few millennia,” Battar’Vedel said.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
The God of Chaos settled down, glaring at his brother as he tossed his halberd again. This time in the direction of Battar’Vedel. “Where was our kinship when Stability wrenched control from my hands? When she stilled my earthquakes and closed my volcanoes? Where was our kinship when you watched my realm die?” He snapped.
Battar’Vedel narrowed his eyes but did not flinch as the halberd whirled past him, nearly cutting his flowing hair.
“We have been over this. A new era was required for the greater Godhood, you could have embraced it instead of throwing a tantrum,” he said.
A snap of lightning shot from the heavens to strike Battar’Vedel upon the head, materializing a crown of jet white studded with blood red jewels.
“I will ask again. Was this your doing?”
Chrysalin’Helio jerked his hands before his face in mocking fright. “Ooooooh, scarey!” His brow tightened, “now what the heavens are you talking about?”
Battar’Vedel gave him a measured gaze. “Your champion freed a suspect of immense curiosity from our grasp.”
“My Champion? Hah!” He barked. “As if I have control over her. Where would be the fun in that? I am Chaos after all.”
Chaos leaned forwards intently as his halberd circled past him forgotten.
“But it is true then? The rumors?” He asked.
His halberd hit a tree in the background and sent a world shattering explosion that rocked the land. The two brothers didn’t react.
“It is true. His influence stains the world once again.”
Chaos rose to his feet once again. Sweeping himself into a deep bow. Far deeper than was necessary, nose nearly touching the ground as he smirked.
“In that case this is going to be very exciting,” he purred. “How may I be of service to his Lordship?”
