Chapter 2: The Truth

Chapter 2: The Truth

After the incident, everyone went their own ways. Wei slowly stood up and wiped off the blood traces from his body.

"Again I have to wipe off the blood from the clothes."

The place that he was currently staying at was in the Zhang clan. It was one of the five prominent clans in the Yong Empire.

The Zhang clan was a very famous and powerful clan in the Empire. It had produced many cultivation geniuses, so many that it could hardly be counted. These geniuses had wholeheartedly served the Empire. As such, Zhang clan could rise to prominence.

Zhang Wei was there under the orders of one of the Elders of the Zhang clan. That Elder told him that his parents were cultivation geniuses of the clan but meet with a sudden death.

As such, he had nothing to do but stay in the clan. It was later found that he could wake up his innate cultivation attribute. As for the reason, perhaps the Elder might know.

But the general people did not and thus he was labeled trash of the Zhang clan. The people of the clan ordered him to do their daily chores.

They worked him day and night like a slave without a pay and often the younger generations would thrash him around in order to vent out their anger or frustration on others.

The people would hardly pay him for anything that he did, yet order or rather force him to do their daily chores so that he could focus their mind on cultivation. As for Wei, he had to listen to such orders in order to survive.

Yet he had hope. Hope that one day he might wake up his cultivation attribute. It was not as if there were no good people otherwise the world would have already been destroyed from jealousy and hatred.

As for why he showed no emotions or felt any emotions, even he was curious. Sometimes he wondered whether being curious was an emotion.

Till date, he had treated it as an only emotion of himself. Thinking and questioning was the only thing that occupied his mind and he believed that those were emotions.

However, he would have dearly heart-broken and lost if he found out that those were not the true emotions of a human being.

Emotions, a term very hard to describe, could neither be explained no be expressed but only be felt. As for Wei, as he could not feel, he could neither explain nor express.

The day was still young. It was hardly noon and Wei decided to wash off the traces of blood from his cloth at the river that flows by his broken down hut.

As he was about dip his blood red clothes in the river, he smelt a sweet fragrance in the surrounding air, a smell quite familiar with women.

Responding to the sudden smell in the air, he turned around and saw a young beautiful girl with red hair. Her eyes had a tinge of fire in it as if burning with passion even though she may have lost her way.

As for her body features, she had a well-proportioned body with bouncy chest and a round perky butt. Such a beautiful view would result in any man to drool and have naughty dreams about her.

Yet Wei showed no such emotions. Not even the speck of admiration or respect or the male features of wanting to have her. His eyes were cold as it were from the morning and for his facial expressions, it's better to not ask.

"Why is there blood there? Little Wei who bet you up? Don't tell me it was those bastards."

"Don't worry. It's not like you can do anything. It's my problem so I should solve it. I can't involve big sis all the time. What would I do when you are not around?"

With a face, void of all emotions, he said those heart wrenching words. Words that were the bitter truth and hit hard in the heart of big sis.

"Zhang Li why are you mixing with that trash? He was born to die. Don't involve yourself with him but with us, we are going to pave the way for the next generation."

Zhang Li or the Big Sis of Zhang Wei could hear such words that the crowd was saying. And why did the crowd gather there. Because Zhang Li was a cultivation genius of the younger generation of Zhang clan.

As much as love he felt for her little Wei and the pain that he had been through, similar amount of hate was there in her heart for those bastards. If were not for the clan rule that one member cannot kill other, she would have already unleashed her attacks on those bastards that dare to harm Wei.

Call it sister complex or true love, one cannot deny the feelings of one's heart. And her heart truly loved Wei. As such, there was nothing much to say.

She tried to even raise her weapons against them but a cold voice stopped them.

"Don't escalate my problems from what they are."

And with that, Wei started rubbing his blood red drops from his clothes. Li had to stop from attacking them and went her way.

The stares with killing intent flashed in all the male cultivators present there. Yet they could nothing and mind their own business for he was sent by the orders of one of the Elders. Can't randomly kill a person sent from an Elder now, can they?

Thus they went their way and minded their own business.

....

Late at night, where Wei should spend his night sleeping so that he could gain some energy to do the daily chores of the next day, he was there in the garden strolling around.

As if tired of his daily life, without any way to awaken his cultivation attribute yet an undying hope not yielding to the current circumstances.

While he was strolling mindlessly, he heard certain talks going on privately. Moreover, the voice seemed too familiar to deny that person. If he was correct, then it should be the Elder that backed him up till date.

He tried to go close to them, to pry on their privy matters yet what he heard was totally unexpected.

...

"Can little Wei never cultivate?" said a sweet feline voice. It belonged to Zhang Li.

"It's not like he can't but I can't help. You have grown quite big so I guess you should know the truth.

Little Wei does not belong to the Zhang clan. I once found him near my door. His meridians are sealed. And a very powerful one. Even I, being an Elder can't help him. As for his parents, even I do not know who they are. So, I have left him to fate. Let nature take its course."

It was a shock for Li. Never did she believe that his little brother's life, whom she adored so much, would take such a turn.

...….

Wei on hearing such words had no facial reactions but inside his mind, there was a constant yell.

"I can't cultivate. My meridians are sealed. No wonder I can't awaken my spiritual roots. So this was the truth all along huh.

Well, my life is worthless as it is. Better be off to my death to relieve them of their duties of protecting me."

With a sigh from an emotionless face, Wei headed towards a cliff that was quite near to his hut. Sometimes, he wondered if the location of his hut was predetermined and now his premonitions were confirmed.

It was destined for him to die.

As Wei heads towards his death, Li on the other hand, self-proclaims to save him from all his troubles. Will her determine last long or will it break even before it starts?
