Chapter 392

CHAPTER 392

Madeline was speechless when she heard Caitlin's question. I mean, do you really want me to say that Ann is my love rival, Caitlin?

The moment Caitlin saw that Madeline did not deny that there was bad blood between her and Ann, Caitlin immediately assumed that there was. Of course, that was easy for Caitlin, as she would insist on Ann apologizing to her.

"Apologize to me. Now." Caitlin gazed at Ann coldly. "However, you can choose to fight me if you don't want to apologize." She practiced martial arts with Lucian since she was a child, and even though she wasn't exceptionally talented in martial arts, it was more than enough to beat this woman to the ground. "I don't want to fight you," Ann raised her chin and said contemptuously. "Are you a barbarian who only knows how to fight?"

"You have to apologize to my Mom!" Quincy looked at Ann with a stern face. "You are a bad person, and you framed my Mom!"

"Yes, exactly!" Joel stood with arms akimbo, staring straight at Ann with his big eyes. "Apologize to Mom, or you will have a duel with her!" Joel was convinced that his mother would win because she was a great fighter. So far, she had only lost to his father and no one else. She would definitely knock the nasty woman's teeth out!

Madeline was again rendered speechless by her twin sons. A duel is a bit over the top, but it would be great if I could fight Ann. She was not a fool, and it was evident that Ann harbored feelings toward Sebastian. While she did not regard Sebastian as her 'property', the fact that other women were coveting Sebastian made her feel uncomfortable. So, it would be nice if she could take this opportunity

to knock Ann's teeth out.

As the thought flashed across Madeline's mind, her eyes started glowing with eagerness. Quinton, who followed Madeline, saw the gleam in her eyes and tried maintaining a straight face when speaking to Ann. "Miss Evans, since our young masters have invited you to a duel with Mrs. Hart, why don't you pick what kind of duel you want to compete in? The Young Master's clubhouse has everything, from fencing room, boxing ring to martial arts arena."

Mrs. Hart was a capable fighter who could even throw Quinton over his shoulder, so Quinton was not worried that Mrs. Hart would be fighting a weakling like Ann; she could take on ten men simultaneously! It would be great if Ann accepted his Young Masters' invitation. That way, Mrs. Hart would definitely be able to have a good time.

As Ann listened to how Quinton addressed the brats and slut as "Young Master" and "Mrs. Hart", her heart ached as if countless knives were stabbing her, and she could not have felt more jealous. Why? Why does it have to turn out like this? I should be Mrs. Hart, not Madeline!

Everything Madeline had should have been hers, and she definitely started out in a more favorable position than Madeline! She was Sebastian's cousin; she grew up with the Harts; she and Sebastian had even lived under the same roof and were childhood sweethearts. She should have married Sebastian and given birth to his sons. Instead, everything that should have belonged to her was taken away by a bitch who appeared out of nowhere! She couldn't help the shrill insults that bloomed within her mind. Slut! Bitch!

The thought of Madeline being Mrs. Hart drove Ann mad, and she yelled, "Okay, I'll fight you!" When she was a child, she and Sebastian practiced martial arts together, a tactic for her to get close to

Sebastian. Even though she could not beat Sebastian, knocking a weak-looking woman should be within her capabilities. She resented Madeline so much that she would not miss out on an opportunity to beat Madeline to a pulp. She would definitely smash that face of hers!

"Yay!" Joel jumped and clapped his hands happily when Ann finally agreed to a duel. "Mom! Beat her!"

Quinton, who knew how well Madeline could fight, had to forcefully suppress the laughter that was about to bubble from within him. Still, his excellent upbringing prevented him from being gentle and elegant at all times. "Okay, since that's the case, I'll arrange the venue for the duel. May I know what you have in mind? Fencing? Free combat? Boxing? Or anything goes?"

Ann replied, "Anything goes! Fight as we see fit!" Only with such a condition, could she have an excuse to scratch that slut's face!

"Okay then, I'll have someone arrange the venue." He pressed the Bluetooth earphone on his ear lightly and instructed someone to prepare the venue and clothes for Ann and Madeline. After making arrangements, he made a gesture of invitation to both of them. "Mrs. Hart, Miss Evans, this way, please."

Grayson was a man of few words, and in the span of a few minutes, things evolved in such a weird way that he was not sure how to react. Why would Ann and Madeline fight when they were family?

"M-Madeline..." He felt awkward calling Madeline. "Madeline, Ann is outspoken and sometimes careless. But she didn't mean to offend you, so please forgive her. There is no need for a duel since everyone here is family, and it won't be good if anyone is hurt."

"You're wrong! Grayson!" Joel corrected Grayson. "She is hostile and malicious toward my Mom! She

deliberately framed Mom and wanted to ruin the relationship between you and Mom."

Grayson was unsure how to react to that since Joel was only five-year-old and spoke so maturely. He even knew what malice and hostility were!

Not giving up, Grayson tried to talk some sense into Joel by coaxing him softly, "Joel, you made a mistake. Although Ann can be a little proud sometimes, she is very kind and will not be malicious or hostile to your mother."

Joel immediately became angry upon hearing that. "No! My brother can't be wrong! My brother is so smart! He is always right!"

Well, Grayson tried his best. He knew how brainless his little nephews could be when it came to brotherly love, just like Lucas! When Lucas was younger, he would agree with everything Sebastian said, regardless of the contents. Oh, wait, Lucas was still the same even after he grew up. It had always been this way, and Grayson thought this cult-like belief was terrifying. So, he could not afford to offend them, even if the opponent was a five-year-old boy.

Furthermore, the two nephews were the apples of his elder brother's eyes. So, if he provoked and made them cry, he could not bear to think how his elder brother would deal with him. So, the moment he thought of his elder brother, he decided to stop whatever he was trying to do and merely agreed with Joel.

"Yes, you're right, Joel. You and Quincy are both brilliant. I don't mean that what Quincy said was wrong. Just that we are a family, so we should all live in harmony and not fight, right?"

"No!" Joel rejected his suggestion even without thinking. "She wronged my Mom. She is a bad person.

So, we're enemies, not family!"

"My brother is right. We're enemies." Quincy nodded in agreement.

Joel was delighted to receive his brother's approval, and he pointed his tender little finger at Ann's nose and harrumphed. "Enemy!"

The moment Ann saw Joel, who greatly resembled Sebastian and Madeline and was pointing his finger at her, she felt the last ounce of wit she had flown out of the window. Her mind went blank as her emotions went haywire. Unfortunately, she forgot to maintain her perfect lady persona in front of Grayson as she didn't hesitate to smash her handbag right at Joel's face and yelled, "Who do you think you are? How dare you treat me like this?"
