**_2 MONTHS LATER_**
A white campervan with a blue stripe pulled up next to a picnic bench and a burnt out fire pit. The door slid open. A short man stepped out wearing a black hoodie and Jean’s. His white hair was spiked upwards as he paced towards the bench with his red duffel bag. He looked around and finally set his gaze on a stone archway. It was covered in moss and cracks. It looked ancient. It had strange runic symbols on it that Jacob took to be Latin. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He switched it on and loaded up his audio log app.
“Okay then. I’ve arrived at the scene of the supposed disappearance. There’s a strange archway of some kind with a foreign language written in it. There’s a duffel bag on the bench. I’m opening it.... Oh my god! There’s a glock inside. A 17 I believe. Maybe Kaden came out here to hide it or himself. Its modified in a way.” He picked up the gun and pulled back the case. 2 red and yellow cylinders fell out into the bag. “Its loaded with shotgun shells... somehow. I’m gonna take it with me into the woods. Log 1.” Jacob put the gun in his pocket with his phone then set of into the forest...
He wandered through the arch and into the clump of trees that shrouded it in damp, stale darkness. Though when his face was under the shade of the trees, it seemed to lighten up and fill with small glowing bugs and plants. A large lake sat just up ahead. The water was bright and blue. The bugs flew in small numbers towards him, slowly surrounding his head, then speeding up, they jabbed at him, pecked and burnt him.

“Gah, get, off of me you, you parasites!” Jacob turned around and ran to leave. The exit had vanished. He backed away then fell to the floor. In shock and awe he pulled out his glock and fired several times at the bugs, still staring at the arch; the only thing that remained. It was odd. All the bugs swarmed together and flew away into the trees. A terrible trampling noise came from the lake. He slowly looked around, mouth open, to see a pack of large white spheres with black striped and brown wings speeding towards him. He dropped his gun in fear. He shut his eyes and braced for impact. BANG. BANG. BA-BANG. 4 loud gunshots occurred from the left. Jacob opened his eyes. The spheres lay silent and cold in the floor, blood pooling around them from their sides.
“Cowtermelons. Fierce but weak to guns. Very, weak to guns. In Reece. Who are you?”
“I-I’m Jacob. Are you the guy who went missing a few months back?”
“Months?? That was two days ago mate. And no. That was Kaden. Kaden Churcher. Seemed nice. He’s dead.”
“W-what? I’ve been searching for him. The- the police gave up weeks ago, but I... I kept hope. He was here?”
“You seem a little shook Jacob,” Reece walked over to the cowtermelons and scooped a handful of flesh from inside one. He walked back over to Jacob, “eat some of this. It tastes like water melon and its filled with sugar. It’ll wake you right up.”
Jacob took a sip from Reece’s hands. His eyes widened as he quickly took to his new surroundings. A whoosh of blue flew past Reece’s head. “A whisp”
“A what?”
“A whisp, they’re really rare in these parts of the wood. They lead to hidden truths and riches! Get up, were following that fairy”
