Chapter 4: Unlocked features.

Five minutes passed, and soon enough, the ever-growing cocoon of light finally stopped pulsating. Discerning this scene, Liam carefully took several steps back while keeping his gaze fixed on the phenomena about to occur before him.

In the next moment, Liam stood in awe as he watched the cocoon of light transform into a magnificent castle. It was over 50 meters long and stood around 20 meters tall, with a wall covering the castle like a fortress.

The wall was at least 10 meters from the front gate on all sides, making it appear even more imposing. As the castle took shape, Liam could feel a surge of Power.

The walls surrounding it were made of sturdy Stone mixed with Wood, with wooden towers at each corner that stood tall and proud. The castle's main gate was a massive wooden structure that opened wide to allow troops to enter.

As he stepped inside the castle, Liam was greeted by a spacious, well-lit grand hall with torches mounted on the walls. The hall was decorated with blank banners on each of the four pillars. Surprisingly enough, the pillars were still there even after the transformation.

To the left of the hall, a grand staircase led up to the castle's upper floors. To the right was a large banquet hall where Liam could entertain guests and hold meetings.

But since it is a new building, there were only a few decorations other than the basic ones provided by the system. After checking the first floor thoroughly, Liam made his way towards the second floor through the grand staircase on the left, reaching the first hallway above, and all he could see in a straight line was door after door on both sides.

He was pretty surprised by the numbers as the hallway circled the castle in a squared shape. At the end of the hallway was a door that was vividly different from the other, visibly more prominent, and appeared more refined regarding the materials used to build it.

"So the bedroom got transferred to the second floor, and it appears there are many more rooms that can be used after this."

Walking towards the middle, Liam discovered another path that led towards the middle area. Stepping in, Liam found another spacious hall with six more pillars supporting the roof, a podium, and a simple stone throne.

"It's the throne room... "

Liam approached the throne and gracefully sat on it with his hands on both handles. Looking towards the empty hall while picturing the view of a king with his ministers standing in front of him, rows after rows, bowing.

"This feeling... "

"I kinda like it."

Liam sat there for quite some time, lost in thought.

As time passed, the sky outside gradually darkened, and the view was adorned with glittering stars.

He gazed at the sky momentarily through the window on the side, admiring its beauty during the night. The stars shone brightly, and the moon cast a soft glow over the castle and its surroundings.

"It's not bad here."

Liam softly murmured with the stars reflected within his eyes, shook his head, and summoned his panel.

From what he had read from the global chat, many new functions would appear in the Lord's panel once a lord had unlocked his castle.

Now, Liam intends to check each one of these features one by one to familiarize himself with them.

At first glance, there are no differences from how the panel looked before, but upon a second look, Liam noticed two different additions that were added to the panel.

One was the power column. Liam tapped on it, and an explanation panel appeared.

After reading it, Liam summarized that Power can be gauged through the number of troops available, the rarity of the soldiers, building levels, research power, and so on.

His slime each gave 5 points. Initially, his slimes would not even have any power to be gauged, but then, with the addition of the Skill, the system decided that his slimes possessed a lot of potential and thus were given 5 points each after a new assessment. The other 50 came from the castle.

And if a person were to look from afar, all they would see is a bubble of energy with a giant castle oddly filling the whole circle, looking like a war fortress. Down below is the Lord's name and the castle's level next to it, but Liam still needs to realize this.

Next, Liam shifted his gaze towards the second addition that was added next to his name column.

"A plus sign?"

Seemingly curious, Liam then tapped on it.

And what comes next into his view is a whole new panel, seemingly to be separated from the Lord's panel.

[Map]

[Quest]

[Alliance]

[Building]

[RankingRanking]

[Events]

[Sales]

Seeing all these, Liam was overwhelmed by the many features the Lord could explore.

"This is a lot to take in... "

He muttered and began to set his eyes on the first one.

"The map... "

Liam then tapped on it, and instantly, a circular Map appeared before him. On it, it depicted an area from a godlike perspective from above the sky. The Map can be dragged and stretched at will. He can slide the screen using his finger to see any area.

"This is convenient... "

His eyes shone at this thought, and he continued exploring this feature.

After dragging over 50km away in a circular manner, Liam discovered another player castle west of his location. Lord's castles look different, primarily based on the geographical situation and the materials used to build them.

Not all lords require the same amount of resources to build their castles. Some need thousands, while others only need a few, less than a hundred. It all comes down to their initial troop's rarity. Liam discovered this after observing the global chat before.

Focusing on this Lord's castle, Liam felt unsure how to treat his neighbor. He pondered while overseeing the one km-sized castle within the energy bubble on the Map, with the name [IreneVirst][Level 1 castle].

"A woman?... "

Liam pondered for a bit longer.

'And based on the appearance of her castle, her initial troops should be on the same rarity as mine.'

Liam tapped on the castle, and Lord's information appeared before him.

[Lord of the human race] [Earth, Human]

[name]: IreneVirst

[Power]: 70

The panel only introduces the basic information such as the name, race, and Power of this Lord. And based on the Lord's Power, Liam didn't need to be that wary against her.

This Iron rule has been engraved in this world: Power equals everything. Without Power, you are an ant that can be trampled at any point.

Thinking of this, Liam then shifted his gaze back towards the surroundings of his castle's area. There were different signs on the Map scattered across the region. All of these signs are resource points.

Resource points on the Map will allow lords to send troops and gather resources. However, the resources within these points are not infinite. There are levels to these resource points, and each level possesses a different amount of resources that can be gathered until depleted.

Once they are depleted, these resource points will be refreshed randomly once a day, and if these resources remain untouched, they will be refreshed once every seven days. And the locations will be different each time.

Though...

"With the slimes I have right now, I won't be able to farm even the lowest level in under one day. "

After exploring the map function to his heart's content, he began to set his sight toward the second feature.

"Quest?"

Liam tried to tap on it but realized that this column had been greyed out.

"So this feature is still not available now?"

"I see... "

Upon realizing this, Liam began exploring the rest of the available features. All the other features are usable except for the event, sales, and Alliance.

The building feature allows the Lord to build anything as long as the blueprint is present, but that doesn't mean the LordLord needs a blueprint to make everything.

For the early game, the system will provide the essential buildings required to progress in the early stage of this world, such as the barracks, summoning portals, research centers, basic houses, blacksmiths, and even decorations.

The lords can also use the building function to upgrade the pre-existing structures, such as the wall and the castle. But for each upgrade, some requirements need to be met.

For example, to upgrade the castle, the Lord will have to upgrade the wall first to level 1 and so on accordingly based on the castle's level, and these rules are applied to every Building.

Now, Liam shifted his eyes toward the ranking column with fiery anticipation for the last feature available.

Tapping on it, three columns appeared in front of his eyes.

[Power ranking]

[Kill point ranking]

[Resources point gathering Ranking]

As usual, only the power ranking was available for now. Liam wasn't bothered by this and immediately tapped on the power ranking.

And the sight that came into his view left him breathless...

"How can they get this strong in just a single day?"

Liam's eyes widened at the sight of the ranking.
