CHAPTER FIVE: I PROMISE TO NEVER LOSE AGAIN!

CHAPTER FIVE: I PROMISE TO NEVER LOSE AGAIN!

Two little blonde boys raced through the streets of Konoha, tearing through markets and alleyways. Naruto acknowledged that 'Gil' could keep up with him and decided to use his extensive knowledge of shortcuts to gain an advantage and avoid persistent pursuers. Approaching a crowded area, Naruto seized the opportunity to lose Gil and cut corners swiftly. Gil, focused on matching Naruto's pace, soon found himself alone in the crowd without his running mate.

'Is that how it is? The Hokage's mansion is still the biggest building here, so I can easily locate it,' Gilgamesh thought as he continued forward, deciding to get serious. A mana fluctuation occurred in his body for an instant and immediately dispersed. New memories flooded his mind as Gilgamesh slowed down to jog, massaging his temples. He left accessing the new batch of information to continue the race.

'It happened again.' The masked ninja that followed Gilgamesh remarked in his thoughts. He recalled times when Gilgamesh, at three years old, would sometimes experience a slight headache and then speak in a foreign, unknown language or recall existences that were not known. But there was one thing he would say at least once a year since he turned three: 'I am the King of the World.' Whenever Asuma and Kurenai heard that, they would laugh and compliment how quickly he was learning new things and how ambitious he was getting. However, Kakashi would often remain silent at that remark.

Ever since he had raised Gilgamesh, Kakashi had never brought any books that had any form or nature of politics or kings. Despite the concerns of the masked ninjas, The Third believed that Kakashi would not let the boy go astray or wander the path of evil.

The masked ninja continued to follow Gilgamesh since the boy continued running forward. Meanwhile, Naruto easily made his way to the Hokage's mansion, smiling and laughing to himself. He might have just made a friend in a village that rejected him because of what he was both blessed and cursed with after birth.

Gilgamesh's body began to change unknowingly as he focused on defeating Naruto. His tissues became stronger, his body began to fill every strand of muscle fiber with oxygen, his vision became clearer, and his bones became thicker and stronger as he dramatically increased his pace!

The masked ninja experienced shock after shock as the little boy he tailed reached speeds that Genin ninjas could attain after circulating chakra throughout their bodies. 'He is just five years old! What a monster!' the masked ninja thought, increasing his pace slightly to keep up easily.

After running and jumping around to imitate the ninjas he saw daily, Gilgamesh finally made it to the Hokage's mansion without encountering Naruto.

"He beat that menace that knows the streets of the village more than some ninjas born and raised here. He did it," the masked ninja remarked as he perched on a tree not too far away from the mansion.

Gilgamesh basked in his victory and laughed out loud. "There is none greater than me!" he exclaimed, praising himself as he lifted his arms in the air.

"I will admit you are very fast… 'Gil'," Naruto said, jumping down from a nearby tree.

Gilgamesh slowly turned his head, recognizing that voice, and his happy expression turned sour. "Haha, you can praise me now. I am Naruto, I won, and you better believe it," Naruto chimed happily, chuckling to himself with his eyes closed.

"I… Lost?" Gilgamesh looked like he was going through a reality crisis, and another energy fluctuation occurred in his body as he massaged his temples again.

"Hey, don’t cry. Why don’t we go to old man Ichiraku and get ourselves some ramen!" Naruto walked over to Gil, who appeared irritated.

Gilgamesh simply agreed since he lost and followed Naruto. 'That boy, Naruto. In just a few short conversations, he brought out sides of Gilgamesh we haven’t seen before,' the masked ninja thought as he dispersed, leaving a small trail of white gas.

At Ichiraku Ramen:

"Hehe, I told you his ramen is good, right?" Naruto beamed with joy, finishing his third bowl of ramen. Gilgamesh didn’t fall behind and fully immersed himself in the experience.

"I… I promise to never lose again… you got that!" Gilgamesh exclaimed with his empty bowl raised as tears streamed down his eyes. The shop owner smiled and let Naruto and his new friend go without paying.

As it got dark, Naruto waved at his new friend and left for his residence. Gilgamesh did the same, walking back home as he reviewed the new memories in his mind.

The next day:

Kakashi was free and arrived at Gilgamesh’s residence, finding the boy trying to run up the wall only to fail and fall.

'Oh, he wants to learn how to do that,' Kakashi thought as he put the book he was reading back in his pouch.

"Oi, Gilgamesh! What are you doing?" Kakashi asked as he walked in.

Gilgamesh knew what he did would gain his attention and would possibly make him teach him how he ran up walls and would sometimes just disappear from the living room or jump to such heights that left him in awe.

"Kakashi-san, please teach me how to run on walls."
