Sorry, folks. I'm quickly coming to realize that I just don't have the temperament to be a "real" writer - you know, actual plans and stories with meaning and conclusions. So I'm just going to take a break and re-organize my favorite story lines into a multi-universal anthology that will cross-threads and update randomly across characters and storylines, and realities. The overarching view will be from a godlike being orchestrating (more like tweeking) events across infinite universes and timelines. This won't happen for a while, but here's a prelude:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atum gradually regained true self-awareness as his ego-self reactivated from hibernation. He had sacrificed almost his entire being into self-evolution, and hadn't been sure exactly what he would become. Now he knew - he was "Humanity", and he was now a full-fledged god. He had created the "WORD" and given himself the power of speech to communicate and pass on knowledge within the mortal sphere, among his myriad manifestations. He was no longer limited to the "demigod" communications and self-perceptions of lesser species divine manifestations. Empathy and telepathy were fine - amazing in their own ways, but had trouble with the precision needed to build the kind of civilizations Atum was now envisioning.
He was far from the first to use this tactic, of course, but he was taking it to extremes rarely seen in this region of the multiverse. In fact, by going to such extremes, he had granted each of his manifestations, even the most trivial and obscure, the power of creation via description. Every story told would become a reality in itself, fully real and capable of interacting with all other realities, in a rapidly-expanding infinite progression.
Stolen story; please report.
Every being hearing or reading such a story would, again, expand and re-imagine it, exponentially expanding the greater divine reality of existence itself. He would now enter the full, dynamic flow of the self-creating universe, which defined basic godhood.
He had also reached the next threshold of divinity, in that each iota of himself, every "human", now also had infinite potential, creating yet another dimentionality of infinity through which to expand.
As for Atum himself - time now no longer mattered, he WAS the endless expansion of conceptual growth that was beyond all words and comprehension, despite, in some way, being enabled by them. Atum now reveled in the simplicity of BEING that aspect of the ALL that was defined as "HUMAN".
The rest of existence - everything that did NOT define itself as human, recognized that things had changed. An insignificant fractal of the ALL was becoming significant, and was reaching out to embrace, explore, understand, combat, befriend, destroy, and otherwise interact with anything and everything it could conceive of, while expanding that same ability to conceive of and communicate with and about whatever it might encounter.
The flow of reality shifted and the stories unfolded.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the forlorn hope, anyway. I really don't know at this point what I will or won't end up writing.
It's been a good lesson about myself - thanks all.
