Many orcs gathered around to watch the contest for the leader of the younglings. Tarhas said, "Do any of you back down?" None of the kids back down from the challenge. So then every one of you are matched with one on your left. Take fighting positions.
Shad looked at the kid at his left. He was malnourished in the forest. Although one evening of feeding and resting did great for him he was no condition to fight against him. Also, he had been lost his weapons too.
When everybody took their positions and draw their weapons. Kid against Shad shouted, "Draw your weapon." Shad shook his head. At that moment Tarhas shouted "Fight" All the orc younglings charged at each other.
Shad watched the tierless orc youngling's pathetic attack. To him this attack was too slow, Shad felt he was watching some movie in 3/4 of the original speed.
He just used an uppercut as a counter. Kid fell. Tried to stand up again but Tarhas said "You lost, stop." When he heard that he stopped.
Out of twelve, six were remaining. The next fight was against someone with a two-handed sword. Shad felt sorry for his rival. The guy was pretty battered from his previous fight while Shad was in a pristine condition.
Fight began. This guy was tier one like shad. But his stats were clearly lacking far behind. Shad had no hard time dodging his badly telegraphed attacks while taking no risk and only attacking with low-risk low power slashes.
The fight looked like a fight between a matador and a bull. But the warrior kid used two attack skills one after another. Shad felt something he jumped backward. Before he knew it he was flying few meters behind. He opened a new movement skill.

The skill Shad saw the ranger adventurer used. He smiled. After his adversary's big attack the warrior lost his balance. Shad used this to use his lunge attack skill. He stopped right when his blade touched the warrior's neck. Tarhas said, "Shad wins." The warrior guy dropped his sword and take a deep breath of relief.
Out of three remaining three, only Shad looked like well. The other two got many wounds from their previous fights.
Tarhas get near Shad and whispered"You are going to win, but you need to earn your brethren respect. I recommend you to challenge the remaining two at the same time and show them you are the strongest. So that way your leadership position will never be challenged." Shad nodded and said "You two, fight against me at the same time. There is no joy beating an orc already wounded.
Two of them looked at each other, one of them was a shaman other was an archer. They nodded. Tarhas said "Start" the moment the command heard the shaman cast a healing spell on the archer while the archer started shooting with his quick shot skill, shooting arrows in quick succession.
Shad started to use his new movement skill to quickly dodge arrows zig-zagging getting near to the duo.
But while he was concentrated on the archer the shaman just fired toward him a bolt of lightning. Before he knew it he was on the ground and an arrow hit him while he was lying.
He quickly gathered himself and drank a health potion. Then in quick succession, while dodging projectiles drank a stamina potion.
He started to circle his opponents instead of directly attacking them. They continued to attack relentlessly. In the heat of the action, they didn't notice they depleted their stamina and mana.
When the time comes they had no potions. They just looked at the Shad which quickly closed the distance when attacks run out of steam.
Shad still had a lot of stamina left. He got near them. The archer drew his short sword and the shaman held his staff like a spear. Shad started to use his double blade slash skill again and again overwhelming ranged fighter's weak melee ability. Soon both of them were on the ground bloodied.
The crowd started applauding. Shad was happy. He helped his wounded opponents to stand up. They looked at him with respect, not hostility. He was the strongest among the younglings. That was the reality and nobody questioned it now.
