Chapter 6
POV Mark
I entered the church as the priest stood standing at the entrance, the interior had a holier then thou feel going on. Crystals lined the walls in different sizes and colors. Some bland while others looked like I was on shrooms, one reminded me of a lava lamp.
The priest would have been helpful if he came with me to explain anything I had a question for. Like for an example, why was there so many crystals along the walls. Or, did the color have anything to do with ones class.
I had many more but I didn’t want to go back out there and look stupid.
Oh well, I looked at the crystals hoping one would stick out to me but none did. Or rather, they all did. I kept walking ahead to the biggest one, in the center of the room was a white glossy stone.
By now I didn’t care which stone would give me a class, so I opted by based on size. Size mattered, like my father always said “Go big or go home.”.
I stood next to it while I thought about all the amazing classes I could get as I placed my had on the crystal.
"Congratulations, you have gained the class illusi□□□□□□□□□□- error. You have gained the class pugilist Illusionist."
That was weird.
I didn’t care too much by that fact as I had finally gotten a class. My nerd dreams were finally coming true, all that I had to do now was get rid of Kim.
“So, I just have to touch that stone right?” A voice said behind me.
Speak of the devil.
“Yep, afterwards we can go our separate ways.”
I took a step away while still facing the stone and bumped into someone behind me. I looked around and found the priest there watching.
“Well, hello there father.”
…The priest starred at me unblinking.
“I’m not your daddy.”
...
“Sorry, slip of the tongue.” I intoned.
A brilliant flash went off and another message appeared in front of my view.
"World announcement, congratulations saint Kim has emerged."
That didn’t seem right. As I was about to voice out my disagreement with the world message, doors swung open, people started to pour in from every corner of the building.
Were the hell did these people come from.
Windows were lifted just to get inside faster, I think a nun just shoulder checked me out of the way causing me to fall to the ground.
“You have suffered 1 point of damage”
“You have suffered 1 point of damage”
“You have suffered 1 point of damage”
“You have suffered 1 point of damage”
“You have suffered 1 point of damage”

The message kept coming as more people walked over me to get to the center of the building. At the center was Kim, getting thanked and praised aloud for her coming efforts for what God could only known.
What felt like forever, people slowly left the chapel with wide smiles plastered to their faces. I finally got the chance to get up to only see Kim getting offered to reside at the church free of charge.
“Do you have a place for the night Saintes” the priest asked.
“No, I just came to the city today.” She looked as if this was all part of her plan. What with that knowing grin and evil gleaming in her eye.
The door burst open, again.
I looked but didn’t see anything. After a few moments a small man came into view as he walked around the corner at the entrance.
POV Kim
The door busted open at the front of the chapel. A large women and small child was there. The women wore brown leathers up and down her body. A green shirt covered her large chest, along it was several knives on a bandolier. She had wild brown hair draped over a bear skin shawl.
She was over 6ft. and pissed.
The child, Kim recognized, was the one Mark had knocked over. She clung to what Kim found out to be her mommy, the supposed bar floozy.
This wasn’t going to be good.
Then a small man stepped out wringing his hat as he stood starring down at his feet.
“Hel-hello, my name is Bert. I-I-I’m th-the mayor of-” He stuttered.
“Shut it Bert! I’m here for blood. That Twig over there shoved my girl down and I want a proper duel.” She had a Scottish accent.
The bear of a women pointed at Mark who looked at Bert. Bert seen Mark looking at him and ducked back behind the large women.
Could Mark still see Bert?
“There is nothing to be ashamed of, maybe someday you’ll have the courage to stand in front of me and speak. I don’t mind. I use to have a problem with giving oral before people too, the best way is to keep trying.” Nope, He could definitely see him.
That didn’t sound quite right. Because the bear of a women’s face turned red as a tomato.
“Shove off it! If your not out there in the street here in 5 minuets, I won’t care about a sanction duel and will break every bone in your body. Starting with that mouth!”
She turned on her heel and stomped out of the door way. Bert the mayor had to step out of the way before he got stepped on.
Kim turned to Mark, she warred with her self over if this was Mark’s fault or her own. Definitely Mark’s.
“Mark, did you see any of that?” she asked but she already knew the answer.
“Yeah” he stepped closer and whispered, “The mayor has a speech impediment”.
Of course he would think that. Well, this could be healthy for Mark. He needed to know that he couldn’t survive without her. He would get beaten up, then be homeless here in the town and come crawling back to her.
Yeah, there was no way this could go wrong.
POV Mark
Kim’s face went through different emotions in a few moments until it rested with glee. That wasn’t good, particularly for him.
“Well, lets go look for a, um, merchant or something. Don’t you always say that you should always stock up before we head out”. Kim said.
Definitely had something going on in that twisted mind of hers.
“With what money?” I asked.
Kim looked around untill her eyes landed on an alms box near the door. She walked over too it and pull the box right off the stand handing it over to me.
“Here, I’m sure this is fine, I’m a saint class now”
That was wrong on so many levels. That caused a spark to burn as I remembered about me trying to be a good guy. Shit, I still had to report on that death of the old man. And the young one too.
I’m a good person.
I left the alms box in her hands as I decided to head over the towns guard shack.
I left the church walking down the steps back onto the main strip when I saw the whole street surrounded by passerby’s. I looked around at angry faces as the sky over head started to get cloudy.
I stayed put until a town guard walked up to me with parchment in hand and a feather.
“Signe here and here” the man said.
I didn’t know what was going on and didn’t want to signed anything until I read it. I couldn’t read.
“What is this for?”
“To make this legal” the man stated like I was an idiot. Thunder crackled way up high as I took the feather.
I did a quick flourish thinking that the paper was some kind of legal document for me entering the town. The guards at the gate were a lot more lax then I thought appropriate.
The guard step away and went back to the middle of the street. I followed wondering why I didn’t get a piece of paper stating I was legal when he abruptly stopped.
“Both parties have signed knowing the stipulations of the parchment. Are you ready Malinda?” he turned to no one, then seemed to have gotten an answer as he turned to me.
“Are you ready?”
I looked around, “Ready for what? I don’t see any thing but the storm over head”.
He sneered at me.
“Didn’t think there were actual people like you, Fight!”
I don’t know what I was expecting, but getting a right hook from nothing wasn’t one of them.
Pressure hit me in my right jaw sending spittle out in a spray, then blood, then one of my teeth. I saw stars as my breath was choked out of me as I spun around in a 360° ballerina style.
Holy ant on a ant hill, the fuck was that. Then sudden realization dawned on me.
The only thing in this world that hasn’t made sense was the lack of women. I mean I seen kids and thought I saw a girl or two but I haven’t seen one women.
Another blow took me on the other side of my face. I didn’t lose any teeth on this one but I was starting to get scared. How the hell do you fight something that you couldn’t see!
I got rocked by a 123 combo, to the right shoulder, the gut then right under the chin. It knocked my on my ass, the taste of blood was prominent in my mouth. I was sore and messages were blinking in my corner.
Fucking facing something invisible wasn’t fair, fuck you Kim.
Then an idea came to me. I knew some one that was invisible as well.
