One thousand years ago earth changed, fantasy races emerged from the shadows to save humanity from itself. This had long lasting effects on earth itself, the other races had created several realms that they lived in up to the reveal. Once the doorway was opened all the realms merged into one.

This caused humanity to be slaughtered by the monsters released from these realms. This caused the human population to drop dramatically. From over eight billion to three billion, and this was just from the chaos of the merging. More lives were lost even with the help of the elves.

As the world was reforming the magic released formed something, this thing became the system. All beings on the world got a status and the ability to level up. The world has been stable for five hundred years, all the races adapted and claimed kingdoms to call their own. The old world is gone and a new one was born, Lutum.

Humanity adapted as well, awakening bloodlines that can completely alter someone's race. This caused the rise of several new races beastmen, demihumans and tieflings just being some of them. That is the world this story starts in.

Vis woke up in this new world, having lived in it for sixteen years. Today is one of the most important days in His life. It is the day anyone who is sixteen years old is gathered and undergoes the awakening. This will grant them a system and reveal their future. He quickly cleans up and puts on his school uniform. Simple black pants and white button-down shirt, he will be given a jacket to go with depending on his result today.

He left his dorm room, and heads towards His class. Vis could spot others like him, rushing to their homeroom hoping that their future is bright. Soon he arrives and goes to his assigned seat, everyone is silent. This is a combination of nerves and rules, on this day they are not allowed to talk until they are told they can.

The punishment is being held back and not being granted a system, this can greatly impact their chances of getting a good future. Soon the teacher, a dwarven male. Enters the room and nods to them and then just stands at the front of the classroom waiting the five minutes until class starts.

Everyone is already at their seats, when class starts, and the teacher Sargent starts talking. “You were all here on time, good. Now, stand up and line up by row in a single file line. We will then go to the awakening area, make sure you follow any orders given.”

Everyone lined up, Vis found himself third in line due to how they lined up. Sargent led the way out of the building to a large windowless one. Other classes are being led by their teacher. Soon Vis found himself in a line that led to a blank door. There are quite a few of these lines with teachers standing between them.

“The first person in a line, walk through the door in front of you and close it when you enter.” The voice came out of the sound system in this building, soon it sounded for the next person to enter. Now Vis is standing in front of the blank door.

“Next person enter.” Vis then stepped forward, opening the door and closing it gently once he entered. He looks up at a female elf sitting at a table with a glowing orb on it.

“Name?”

“Vis,”

“No last name?”

“I am an orphan, if I have one no one told me it.”

“School id.”

Vis held out a silver id card, this means he is second in his class.

“Place your hand on the orb to receive your system.”

As he did so, she felt tingles all over his body. Then pain all over it, once it stop, he gasps for breath. His voice is is a higher pitch then before, he quickly realizes what happened. Some races only have one sex, if someone gets one of those bloodlines then they will change to that gender.

As Vis looked at this, she could not help it. She reached up and felt for where her ear used to be, finding only smooth skin. She then felt the top of her head and felt a pointed fuzzy ear. Vis resists the urge to look down, knowing this is not the time.

The female elf spoke then. “Hmm, a magic and martial class. Good stats as well, and you are foxkin now, considering the gender change you got a kitsune of some kind. You will be sent to the Opulentia Academy to continue your training.

This is one of the best, make sure to not disappoint me. Now take this new id and notice of you having a gender change. Once you are free to talk let your teacher know and some materials will be provided. You will most likely get a senior female student to teach you what you need to know. Go through the door behind me, someone will tell you where to go.”

She nodded and took the silver card. As she starts to follow her orders, she almost loses her pants. Blushing she pulled them up and tightens her belt, then she continues. On the other side a man stood a few feet away. He held out a hand, “new id card.”

Vis handed it over, he looked at it then gave it back. “Enter the third door on the right down the hall behind me. Find an empty seat and read the information on it.”

Vis nodded and followed orders. When she enters the room, she sees a neko waiting off to the side. “Let me see your id so I can give you your new jacket.”

Vis did so, she nodded and gave back her id. She eyed her for a second before flipping through the jackets behind her. Once she found what she is looking for she handed it to Vis. It is plan black with a silver patch on the left breast. This silver patch has a blue and red rectangle on them.

“This is a temporary jacket, once at the academy you will be fitted for your personal jacket.

Vis nods in response.

“Put it on for now and find an empty seat. Good luck foxy.”

Vis blushed and quickly moved to find a seat. It is not hard; she seems to be the second person in a room made to hold fifty at least. She picked up the packet on her seat and starts to read it.

If you are reading this then you have been chosen to attend Opulentia Academy. It is located in the capitol of the Aurum Imperium; it is mainly a demihuman nation.

It soon goes into common sense rules, then it gets interesting again.

When it comes to the markings on a school jacket the color determines the rank of a student. The colors in order are bronze, iron, silver, gold and platinum. When someone enters, they are given a rank based on their potential. Most will enter as a bronze or iron rank, there are exceptions to this though rare. The blue, red and green marks determine your classes. Blue for a magic class, red for martial classes and green for other.

It then went back to things like the dress code and other things like that. After about an hour a mature rabbit woman enters the room and moves to the front of the room. She looks over the twentyish new students. “Welcome, you may call me teacher while we are together. We will be heading back to Opulentia Academy directly, you will be able to get what you need there. No outside influences are allowed on campus.

We know about any medical needs for students and such care is provided. Just so I know what I am working with, bronze to the right and iron to the left. Anything higher in the middle.”

Vis is one of two people in the middle. The rest are split almost in half.

Teacher nods, “good we have two high ranks. I know some of you have not had time to fully read the booklet that was left on your chair. There will be travel time, you can read it then. Even with the teleportation network it will be four weeks of travel time. This does not count who long we will end up waiting for everyone to get back to the ship.

Now, we will be leaving. Follow me to the teleporter, high ranks in front.”

Everyone lined up quickly and followed her orders. Vis and the other high ranker, a lamia at the head of two lines.

As they follow the teacher Vis needs a distraction, so she does not stare at that tempting rear. She has it as soon as they pass through the teleporter, they find themselves at the main port of her hometown. In front of them is a massive ship, it looks to be over 800ft long and has what looks like a mansion on the deck. The vessel looks like it is powered by magitech, due to the glowing runes carved into its metal hull in circuit like patterns.

Teacher speaks up, “welcome to your home for the next two months. We will be picking up more students as we go. If you wonder what we will be doing, well we will be testing you and sorting you more thoroughly during this time. There is a chance to go up in rank during this time, so make sure to put your best foot forward.

Once onboard you may talk, those of you who were given notes by the person who oversaw your system granting. Line up in front of me and hand them over. The rest of you board the ship in an orderly manner, you will be given orders once aboard.”

Vis moves to stand in front of Teacher, holding out the notice of gender change.

She glances at it, “well. All things considered you have kept it together incredibly well. I will see to it that you get what you need, stand off to the side for now. I will introduce you to your big sister once we are back at the school, until then come to me or any female staff with questions. Keep the note you showed me on you so you can show it if you need to ask someone else.”

Vis nods and moves off to one side. Soon the small number of students that lined up behind her finished talking to Teacher. She motions her to follow, leading her aboard the ship. Soon Vis got completely turned around, she is having to move to fast to read signs in order to keep up.

They soon stop in front of a door and teacher opens it showing a simple room. “This is your room while you stay here, on your desk is a tablet with all the information you will need on it. I have already added extra material due to your gender change, make sure you read it before using any of the public bathing facilities.”

Vis nods, “thank you teacher.” She finds out her voice is now a soft alto.

She nods back and leaves.

Vis looks around the room, it is an eight-foot square with a bed against the back right corner. Against the left wall is a desk and chair, a door leads into a small bathroom. Front right is a small kitchen area, already stocked with the basics.

Vis hung up her jacket next to the door and stepped into the bathroom to get a look at her new body.

She has a feminine face, covered in light, smooth skin, with rosy freckles. She has a head of shoulder-length, ginger, hair, which is messy. She has a pair of fox-like eyes, the irises and pupils of which are larger than a regular human's. They have round, green irises and vertical pupils. She has a pair of pointed, fox-like ears, which are positioned high up on her head and are covered in ginger, fluffy fur, with white markings.

She still has her fit body standing near 5'4”, her curves are slender with her breasts being b-cup in size. She has a ginger, white-marked fox tail it is quite big and very fluffy in proportion to the rest of her body.

Vis realizes it will not be that bad, something seems to have reprogrammed her brain to correct her balance and ensure she knew how to use her tail. Though her clothes are rather loose now. She adds new uniforms to the list of things to get with things like food she likes and other little things.

Before setting out though she sits down and looks at the Tablet left on her desk. As soon as she activates it there is text to read.

Welcome to Opulentia Academy, this document will go over what you should do on your first day. It will also go over the basics of what a student here can expect while on board this vessel.

There are three main things you will want to do today. First is go to the tailor and get your new uniforms. Second is selecting your weapons, as a hybrid your magic will be one of your weapons. For the other please go to the quartermaster for your rank and they will help you. Third is getting any miscellaneous things you might want or need.

In order to pay for these items, you will use your id, you start with a set amount based on your rank and other factors. You will be able to use these points on other things as well, including things to evolve your classes and even gain new ones.

Starting tomorrow you will be attending classes in the morning and then the afternoon is dedicated to self-improvement. Based on the degree of improvement rankings might change, use this opportunity to reach the best starting position you can.
