Ashura Plane
Red Haired Guy POV
Godammit, He found her. He bloody found her. What the fuck should I do right now. The ephemeral plane is closer to her. Even if I set out now there would be a week delay between our times. FUCK.
Argghhh. And she hasn’t awake….
“ehem”. My thoughts were cut off by that foreign cough. That sound should be an impossibility. There’s no other living thing here because I am the only existence on this plane. Everybody else is gone.
I craned my head to survey this cave again. The cave wasn’t that big, roughly around 3 meters in height. The smell of sulphur was thick. Dust floated idly obscuring whatever little vision I had in this dim place. Cracks littered its damp walls. On every crack were runes that dated back to the primordial Ashura. They said he was the person that build this entrance to Gehenna but I know better. He didn’t build it. It built him. I closed my eyes again and tried to feel the other’s life force but nothing. No living things in my current proximity. Strange. Was it my imagination?
“No it wasn’t”. That reply confirmed it. I’m not alone. And whatever’s here with me is stronger than me by at least two fold if it can escape my detection. Godammit. Problems after problems keep popping out. Why the fuck is this happening to me.
“Who are you?” I shouted to the void. I’m on edge right now. My eyes widely taking everything in. Muscles tensed ready to react to any situation and that’s when the reply came, its melodious voice ringed in my ears and I just stood there staring, blinking dumbly. Its words and the familiar voice that carried it stunned me.
“What?” The scream escaped my lips. It can’t be him. I watched him die. Heck, I killed him off myself. He can’t be alive.
“Sheesh, you’ve got hearin problems don’t you. I said I’m your father”. An amused chuckle escaped resounded still in that same baritone voice I’m familiar with. Just hearing it is sending shivers down my spine, igniting memories banished a long time ago.
“Lies. You’re not my father!, I killed him off myself and I devoured his soul. There’s no way in gehenna that he’s alive” I roared. My mind was at a frenzy right now. I frantically searched for the source of the voice but nothing came to view.

“hahaha, Out of everybody’s reactions. Yours is still the best”
“No, I’m not your father dumbass. I’m your mother” This time ringing laughter made its way to my eardrums. It was high pitched but still pleasant. It was the same voice that sang me lullabies when I was little. The voice that soothed me when I fell and scraped my knee. The voice that anchors my nightmares to this port, never to see a ship of dreams ever again.
I can feel the blood rushing to my head.
“Show yourself” I roared a second time. My face red from anger or at least that’s what it seems from the outside. On the inside, my senses are exerting its fullest abilities. Trying to detect this abomination.
“Jeez, all of you ashuras can’t take a joke”
All of a sudden. A mass of white mist materialized on top of a stalagmite a feet away from me. It expanded till it covered the whole cave. Then, it condensed itself. Congealing into a mass of pure white clouds that took the shape of a rabbit. It grew smaller and smaller while its details even out.
Scarlet streaks crossed it bodies, blood trickling down dying its snow white fur a deep crimson shade. It was standing on its hind legs. An olive green top hat hanged on one of its ears leaving the other one bare. Its body was propped up by an obsidian black walking stick. Its head had an ornate ivory carving of a crow. Its iris was a deep willow green.
“You’re…..you’re Jest”. I mumbled slowly. Denial heavy in my words. If this guy really is jest then I’m in deep shit.
“The one and only” His words destroyed any sliver of hope I had left.
“What are you doing here?”
“Hahahaha, such a cliché question. You know why I’m here. He paid a great price to keep you occupied while he does his business. But I really am intrigued. To think that you’ve been hiding her all this time. Once they get her, the others will also be hunted down. I’m pretty sure none of them are as troublesome as you”
“sigh”, A sigh escaped my lips. This really is the worst fucking day of my life.
