Having spent several days recuperating in the infirmary, Vilhelm had healed significantly from his injuries and felt prepared to depart. Stepping out into the open air outside the Adventurer's Infirmary, he encountered Thalion, who greeted him with a cheerful exclamation, "Leaving so soon? Ah, I brought you some fruits, you see! Haha!" Thalion remarked, brandishing a bag of assorted fruits. Vilhelm approached Thalion and expressed his gratitude, "Thank you for your assistance these past days... but why did you extend your aid to someone like me, a mere nobody?"

Taking an apple from the bag, Thalion bit into it and replied, "Why assist a nobody? Well, you, my friend, are one resilient individual. Even when we discovered you unconscious and infested with leeching parasites on the riverbank, your spirit persevered, and I couldn't bear the thought of a man with such a tenacious will to live meeting his end in some anonymous corner of the world." Thalion continued to eat the apple as he spoke.

"So, you had no ulterior motives, then?" queried Vilhelm, to which Thalion responded with a knowing smirk, "Ah, well, I'm an elf, you see... Our kind is blessed with longevity surpassing that of most races, although limited by physical strength. I have lived through the passing of almost 346 summers, bearing witness to death more frequently among ordinary folk than among companions. Death is an inevitability, yet one can choose a worthy place to meet it, provided they possess the resolve. I've witnessed every aspect of human existence during my long life... Greed, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride, but never have I encountered a determination to defy Death itself, even when the odds seem insurmountable."

"Come with me, and I will demonstrate to you how you can channel your fate of narrowly escaping death into a purposeful pursuit," Thalion declared, placing a reassuring hand on Vilhelm's shoulder before leading him toward the Adventurer's Guild.
