The following day, after the utter defeat in the Fricted forest, the local Baron, Lornin Ciorn, along with Polyn Tusard, were sitting in the lord's garden. The garden itself was quite extensive but was more like an artificial forest than a garden. It was filled with different sorts of trees; some even had colourful leaves. Many of them were about to bear their fruits, but some only had decoration purposes, as they only had flowers.
The men were set by a fine table made of marble. As for the chairs which they sat on, they were made of some sort of wood, but it was so soft that some would mistake them for some sort of fabric. As Polyn slightly leaned back, the chair also leaned back slightly, but as soon as he moved, the chair returned to its original form.
"What to do... What to do..." Mumbled Lornin
"That really is a great question... We must avoid going to that forest..." Replied the mage soon after.
The two kept on blatantly staring at the table for minutes. The surrounding area was so quiet that they could hear birds chirping and even how the gentle morning breeze was moving the branches of the trees.
"What's the long face for?" Spoke up suddenly a deep and cold voice.
The men instantly turned around to see a young man walking towards them. The man had long blond hair and glowing green eyes. The man was equipped with a sword on his side, which was in a fine scabbard which was decorated with golden lines and patterns, which to some extent, resembled a flower. Also, the man was wearing a delicate white silk shirt under a leather jacket, along with insubstantial golden-coloured velvet gloves and dark grey hose. That person was Count Folen Radior,
"Oh, good morning, Count Radior. How can I help you today?" Spoke up Lornin, and he quickly stood up.
"I came to observe how the extermination is going... Also... You seem to have changed; you seem much younger than you were..." Replied the Count.
"Oh, thank you... And please, come and sit with us!" Invited the Count, Lornin.
Folen took a deep breath and then walked over to the table, and eventually sat down. At first, he looked at the mage, who didn't react, so the Count glared at the Baron.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"So tell me, how did you manage to screw such a simple task? Killing a small number of beasts? Only their leader would pose any sort of challenge; I thought you were quite capable!" Declared the Count coldly.
"Sir, you are mistaken. The reason we failed was not due to the strength of that village... But we engaged an entity we should have never messed with!" Replied the Baron hesitantly.
"Hah, you are reprimanding your dirt on some non-existing figure." Laughed the Count and slammed the table with great force.
"Sir, it may seem unbelievable, but we did meet that monstrously powerful being! We could..." Spoke up the mage but was interrupted.
"ENOUGH! I have no time for your excuses! I will take this matter to my own hand and liberate that forest from those wretched, vile creatures!" Shouted the Count in anger
"But sir... You can't... I believe not even you are strong enough to stand a chance against..." Stated Lornin, but he was slapped.
"You have heard my edict! We will reclaim that land, and YOU will also take part in the extermination. I will just show that being of yours that I am not someone he should be fucking with! I will send a formal invitation shortly. This will be your last chance to rid yourself of such failure! I suggest you take this opportunity!" Proclaimed the Count and stood up.
"Yes, sir... I understand!" Stated the Baron quietly, and he lowered his head.
The Count walked away, and the moment he turned around, Lornin started smiling while his head was still lowered; his purple eyes started glowing slightly, and then he started giggling quietly. He managed to hold it back for a few minutes until the Count was finally far enough not to hear him, and then he started laughing louder. He was laughing so hard that if it was not for Polyn to grab his chair, he would have fallen.
"It seems Lord Solo can have some fun with him." Said Lornin after a few minutes of laughter.
"I think you should be more careful about what you say. What do you think Lord Solo would do if you hindered his plans? Seeing how he resurrected us effortlessly... I would be conscientious if I were you!" Whispered Polyn and then gently hit the Baron's back.
However, despite being warned, the Baron just chuckled.
"If he wanted us to do something, he would have told us so; however, since he merely sent us away, it means he has no plans for us." Replied Lornin and sighed.
"Suit yourself, but I don't agree with your ideas. It is way too reckless! Still, you promised me a game today, so let's get it over with before some other events occur which will prevent us from relaxing!" Stated Polyn with a slightly deeper and colder tone.
"Alright then, give me a minute to fetch it." Mumbled the Baron as he slowly stood up.
As Lorning walked away, Polyn just took a deep breath, leaned back, and stared at the leaves of the trees around him.
"Lornin, you are too reckless, and I don't like it. It is a very dangerous aspect to have..."
