Ch.4 first steps

After what feels like two weeks of about the same thing, I finally got a skill that will help me move. After thinking I ate a centipede which was actually a slime.

[{Skill act}

Sadly I already tried to make eyes but the cost is too high at the moment just to get them made then the channel cost of it is also high. I also need to know the part or have eaten the part. I start by picking the part I want which is centipede legs then I think of the place I want it. Now to concentrate on making that part or in this case just reread the bio of the monster. Presto a new limb. I make three more limbs to help with walking, each leg is at a corner of my body.

I slowly pick up my body from the ground sliping a few times but I stand up. I move slowly not to bump into any walls and not to step on anything uneven but this proves a lot harder. I also use trance to help avoid creatures. My mana runs out as I reach a corner. I continue this for a long time while figuring out the room I'm in.

The terrain is very rocky and the room feels like a cave but I found a hole that goes up… I think. I prepare for going in the unknown by filling up on food and having my mana maxed. I wonder what new food I can find and how it will taste. I set off into the unknown.

I continue to journey up and up. I lose track of distance but there are no monsters so it's a nice and calm journey. After a while I started to run into walls one after another. Left, right, right, left, left at some point I started going down without knowing. Monster also came out which gave me a nice snack for the journey.

I kept traveling, recharging my mana here and there. This area would feel giant if I wasn't taking small steps and moving around monsters. I eventually find myself walking forward for a long time and my legs even get wet so I find a good spot and set up camp for a while.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"Finally a break, ah it feels nice even if my legs are made of magic."

A few moments into resting I start to feel an itch just like the first time a centipede crawled on me but a lot more and a lot bigger. I don't think I should swat them off which could risk my life. Soon they crawl off in a hurry so I began my pattern. At some point I started to enjoy hunting and waiting and while doing this my mind wandered. I wonder if there's a setting menu.

"Ali is there a settings menu"

"Yes, the command is show setting."

So there has been a settings menu and I didnt even know it. Show settings. A huge menu pops up with so many things to change. I look through it all, having nothing better to do while hunting. No difficulty setting that would be op but there's a bunch of stuff like changing commands and how ali interacts, even a language setting. After a while of looking through the menu and adjusting it

P.o.v. change

I sit at my desk reading through paperwork, ones about dungeon taxes and others about changing dungeon difficulty. I hear knocking at my door.

"Come in."

A young man comes in holding paperwork.

"Sir, a new dungeon is sprouting in the east."

"Have you sent scouts to locate and check it out?"

"Yes but they still haven't found the entrance."

He puts the paperwork on my desk and I quickly skim through it. This gives basic information about dungeons but a lot of the info is unknown.

"When the scouts find the dungeon tell them to wait for others and make sure the word doesn't get out, this is now top secret information."

He shakes his head yes before leaving.

"This high of a mana level. I can't let this information get out or there may be a war."

I could already feel the headache this dungeon is going to give me.
