Day 1

Dear Journal,

I don’t know how to do this so I’m just gonna write down what feels natural to me. I’ll start by writing my name just in case this place makes me lose it and then just unload everything that has happened to me today. First off my name, is Jacob Nicholas though I prefer to go by Jay because Jay sounds less pretentious. I was your everyday 20-year-old; I studied, went to work, played video games, etc. So one day, that day being today, after being a responsible adult I decided to go out and reward myself with a few snacks.

I was in my car, minding my own business when out of nowhere I started to feel a little headache. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then it started to become so painful that I had to pull over. My head was throbbing as if my brain wanted to burst out of my skull, my ears were ringing so loudly that it was causing me to clench my teeth, and my body felt uncomfortably hot. Whatever was happening to me couldn’t be normal as I had been completely fine throughout the entire day. Next thing I know my vision begins to darken and I just black out in my car.

After that whole ordeal, I woke up and found myself on a dirt road instead of an asphalt one which was the first red flag. Confused I stepped out of my car, which I am forever thankful that it came with me, and decided to look around so I could figure out where the fuck I am. As I was surveying my surroundings I was seeing a lot of things that may or may not have caused me to panic. First no vegetation whatsoever, no trees, no flowers, hell not even any grass. It was just dried-out topsoil that stretched out as far as the eye could see.

Next, was the silence I didn’t hear insects, animals, or even wind, as someone used to city life and the outdoors to hear nothing was-no is- haunting.

Anyway, the final nail in the coffin was a blue panel popping out of nowhere and scaring the absolute shit out of me.
