It was a totally blank and black space, the infinite permeates through the endless black place generating a devastating feeling of loneliness.
Only darkness could be seen in the endless black world with no light anywhere.
In this endless emptiness of endless solitude it was possible to see a person floating as if floating on water.
He was a normal looking young man with brown hair and black eyes and a normal physique.
He wasn't ugly, but he wasn't pretty, he was just plain normal.
The boy's eyes could only see the endless darkness of where he was.
This boy could only come to one conclusion.
He had died.
Even so the boy didn't try to deny his death or anything, he had accepted that for him.
But it seemed that his death wasn't something the Higher Beings wanted to be permanent.
Welcome to the player!
The boy's eyes widened as he blinked in surprise as the words appeared in front of him.
He just couldn't believe what was in front of him, after all this was something that only happened in fiction, or to be more exact, fanfiction.
This was simply impossible!
But if he learned anything from reading fanfics, it was that it could be as real as he is.
His entire life turned into a video game. Do what you want with it... but first, you must start.
Please choose your Home World.
The worlds:
1: My Hero Academy
2: Transformers
3: Campione
4: Star Wars
5: High School DxD
6: Dragon Ball
7: Naruto
8: Star Treck
And so went the list. I couldn't even make out the rest of the worlds where the list simply disappeared into the darkness of emptiness that was my temporary existence.
Still…the choices I could make were more than appealing to me. In fact... I already knew which one I wanted to go to.
"Campione!"
That's right. I wanted to go to the world where the gods could walk among mortals and where mortals could kill the unfathomable.
I wanted the power to kill gods. To command the very essence of nature, depending on which god I gave my life to kill.
The world around me shone once, then twice, and finally a third time.
[Campione!]
[The world of gods and men.]
[You who seek the power of the gods... you will start your adventure here. Be excited to know that you have the blessings of the Old Ones!]

Well... wasn't it a kick in the stomach?
Then someone threw a hand at me, ending up with this amazing gift! And apparently they were very poets themselves.
I moaned as I tried to open my eyes. I could feel the heat of the sun against my skin as I tried to force my body to wake up. It was one of the many curses of being human when your mind woke up before the rest of your body. Still, I had gotten used to it.
Slowly I got to my feet as I sat down on the floor.
I looked up at the sky when I felt a drop of rain fall on my face. The sky was dark and overcast. A storm was coming, I could feel it.
I needed to get under some shelter and fast.
So I ran. As fast as my deadly legs took me, I ran to get under solid cover. I wouldn't have a bad cold just because I wasn't smart enough to get out of the rain before it hit hard.
"Hello" Someone spoke behind me. I would have been scared to death if it weren't for the fact that I was out of breath. I had just run about a quarter of a mile to get under the big tree in front of me.
I turned and took in the appearance of the stranger, a handsome man. He had long brown hair and amber eyes that seemed to glow with a weak force.
"Are you alright young man?" The man asked me with a touch of concern in his voice, or at least something that was close to concern.
I smiled at him, "I'm fine. Just some crazy things in my life, you know how it is"
A laugh escaped his mouth as he left the seat he was sitting on. He was taller than me, which meant I had to look up.
But when I looked above him something came up.
John - Unknown - Unknown
Race: Divine
Age: ageless
Holy crap!
Was this my first encounter with a god? Would I take him down now?
I shook my head to strengthen my emotions. Ignoring that I basically saw a status over his head. I couldn't anticipate it. There was a reason Campione was a rarity in the world and no longer abundant like the gods.
Something told me that if I tried to take down 'John', which I'm pretty sure isn't his name, I'd end up dead with nothing to show for it.
"You're the first boy I've seen who had a real head on his shoulders, did you know that?" He spoke to me with a smirk on his face. The way the words came out of his mouth was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was as if he had a real silver tongue and we mortals were nothing but his puppets.
I shrugged, "Well, I like to think I have a few more brain cells than most other idiots that live on this planet."
He laughed once more, but this time I joined in. I saw no reason not to laugh after all. He wasn't my enemy…for now.
"So what brings you to these parts of the forest?" He asked me as we watched the rain. There was something about the sound of the rain falling that made me a little dizzy.
Well, I couldn't tell him the truth that was right. Even if he were a god, my truth was too different from the world to be believable. So I shrugged.
"Oh, just watching nature in all its glory"
It was at this point that I found myself flying. It felt like a train had hit me full on and I was nothing but a car on the track. That's right... I felt like a car that had just been hit by a huge train.
"DAMN IT!"
That was the only sound that came out of my mouth as I crashed into the tree behind me…and then through it and into a huge boulder.
"Be glad I restricted my hand, mortal," John spoke, his voice high and clear across the clearing, "It's only my will that you didn't die from the painful wound I inflicted on you."
Warning!
Boss battle coming up.
Geez... I didn't know that. Thank you for letting me know. Again, note the sarcasm.
"Who are you really?" I asked the man as he tried to get to his feet. The pain that was running through my body was nothing compared to the pain I felt when I met my death in my previous life.
He looked at me... and smiled once more. The air around him seemed to glow once... to reveal him in all his glory, except for one important thing.
He didn't have a normal human head...but that of an animal. To be exact, a hawk.
Well, that told me everything I needed to know. I wasn't dealing with a normal heretic God... but with the king of the Egyptian Pantheon himself.
"...Ha" The words escaped my mouth before I could stop myself.
The King of Gods of Egypt, the God of the Sun who faced the serpent of Chaos Apophis that wanted to consume the world, the God of Creation of the Egyptians.
"So do you know who I am?" Ra asked me, looking amused at my situation. He waved his hand and we both watched as the storm faded to reveal the blazing sun.
Ra was the sun god. It would make sense that he had complete control over himself and the temperature he gave off to the world. Making a normal storm disappear was nothing but child's play for a god of his caliber.
"It's good to see that there are still some mortals who haven't forgotten us, gods. Don't say I'm an evil god. Once my new realm is firmly established, I'll make you Pharaoh over all these lands."
As good an offer as it sounded... I knew I had to decline. I still didn't know why he had attacked me like that. Also, I wanted to be a Campione. That couldn't happen as long as the god before me was still alive.
He needed to die. That was a simple truth. The shame of doing this wouldn't be so simple. Maybe I was lucky and someone showed up with a grimoire? Not that I let them steal the kill.
