You got a new message!

Such notification was received by Ichiroku. He opened his private message inbox and saw Yoon Jae message. Ichiroku had been in contact with Yoon Jae since they went to into the hidden dungeon that Yoon Jae found last time. They had been on their separate ways for a few weeks in Einstal World and decided to re-challenge the dungeon once again after they had level up. Since the day Ichiroku had met Clarissa, the Goddess of Luck. He had level up quite a lot by killing the monsters that he met during his travel to Beginner town.

Since the day Ichiroku obtained his first Gospel. There were a few changes that he had experienced. First, he is now able to learn a skill manually without having to learn it from book or passed down by an NPC. As long as he knows the condition and requirement, he can learn it.

For example, by slashing his dagger continuously he was able to learn a passive skill; which enhances his dagger base damage by 3%. Not only that, a few days ago he was fighting against an army of low level slime. Due to the large level and stats difference, Ichiroku only need to step on the slimes to finish them off. Thus he learned which gives out 23% chance to deal a stun effect to the nearby enemy.

One of the most obvious changes that he had experience was his stat. His stat description had taken great change in details.

Strength – Strength is power, it affect your physical defense and your physical attack. 1 strength stat gives you 5 attack power and 3 defense point. Strength is the most essential stat that is needed for a close range attack.

Stamina – Stamina affect your hit point, for a long and hard battle having a high stamina is very essential. Having a high stamina increase your survival rate, 1 stamina point gives you 50 hit points.

Dexterity – Dexterity is what affects your accuracy and aim and your critical strike rate. Every 1 point of dexterity allows you to increase your attack range of 5 meters. Dexterity is the most essential stat for rangers.

Agility – Speed, it increases your damage per second and your critical damage and your travel speed by foot.

Intelligence – Intelligence is important when it’s about deciphering an old ancient tome. Intelligence also affects your experience level and skill level up.

Wisdom – With great knowledge, you are awarded with great power. Wisdom affects your mana point that lets you activate a skill. Every 1 wisdom stats gives you 50 mana points.

Endurance – Endurance affect block rate and parry. You cannot distribute point to this stat.

Luck – Luck plays great roles in your activity. Drop rate for item are greatly affected by the amount of luck that you have. It also enhances your critical rate, skill execution success rate, evasion success rate, extra damage rate, and increase the probability to find a hidden dungeon.

Two of his stat had undergone a great change in details. Each 1 point of his wisdom now grants him 50 mana points. And his Luck stat description that was only revolving around things like gambling and games had began to show its real usefulness.

“Enhances your critical rate, skill execution success rate, evasion success rate, extra damage rate, and increase the probability to find a hidden dungeon…” Ichiroku repeated the word that he read from his stat info.

He was told to stop spamming his additional stats point and focus on his other stat too. He was also told that he can raise his luck stat manually by winning a game or bet in any sort of competition that he participates.

Thus, without deviating from his original plan after he reached Tidal Harbor. He went on his way to Beginner town, or rather to Beginner’s Town Game Centre. However, he was not travelling alone. He was travelling with a young lady who looked pretty much displease with their current situation.

“Hey… …” A soft maiden voice visits Ichiroku’s ear.

“What?” Ichiroku replied without turning his head towards the voice direction.

“Do you mind explaining what exactly are we doing right now?” The soft maiden voice was once again heard. However, there was a trace of irritation could be felt from her tone.

“What do you mean by what we are doing Clarissa? We’re travelling to Beginner town where else?” Ichiroku replied, sounding quite irritated himself.

“I know that you idiot! What I mean is why do we have to travel by foot when we can get a carriage?” The owner of the voice was Clarissa, the Goddess of Luck.

“Right… about that… It was your fault wasn’t it?” Ichiroku threw Clarissa a side glance.

“What do you mean my fault? It was your fault!” Clarissa retorted with a menacing glare.

“If you didn’t stop me from catching those wild horses we can get ourselves a ride already!”

“What are you, an idiot? Wait you are an Idiot. Those monsters are not wild horses, those are Centaurs! There are 30 level differences between us and the Centaurs. You may only lose 25% of your experience if you die, but I will lose a level!” Clarissa shouted out loud baring her fangs on Ichiroku.

Clarissa is a Pod user. She’s a Beast with the appearance of a cat. Beast has the appearance of a humanoid animal. Beast players will have their entire body covered by furs. However, their appearance can be altered with player’s customization. But of course, only those with money can afford to alter their appearance.

On the other hand, the only thing that is ‘catty’ about Clarissa was her ears and her tails. Clarissa is the first disciple of Mr. Satty, she was the person who was in charge of changing the patch index to enable a player to liberate Human race and unlock the race for all Pod users. There is no surprise on how she looked like because she can easily alter her appearance. She had thought about ‘patching’ her character’s stat too. But it had caused an unforeseeable bug, and she reset the changes made later on.

“Wait what? Are you serious? I can spam my Instantaneous Step and kill them all in a jiff.” Ichiroku replied.

“Seriously?! You will run out of satiety even before you can kill them all.” Clarissa retorted again. “You can’t spam your Instantaneous Step like what you had done in Verlassen Island.”

True enough, Ichiroku had not only experienced a change in his learning ability and stats functions. His Instantaneous skill that seemly to be the most useful ability that he had had also degraded in quality. His Instantaneous now had somehow affected by his satiety. Using Instantaneous Step repeatedly will cause a sharp decline in Ichiroku satiety.

This is the main reason why he and Yoon Jae group only managed to get to floor 15 of the dungeon.

He had experimented this before, the result was; spamming Instantaneous Step for 3 minutes will caused his satiety goes from 100 to 0. However if he use it with a delay of 1 minute of each instantaneous movement there will be no apparent change in his satiety. For argument sake, he utilized his instantaneous step to its max when he was fighting with monsters.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

“Ah! I guess you’re right. I’m sorry.” Ichiroku said in reply. He is used to apologizing to the opposite gender due to his sister’s strict education.

“I’m glad that you know that.” Clarissa replied while sighing.

In reality, Ichiroku still thinks that he can handle them somehow; his evasion technique had been upgraded with the change in Luck stat’s details. However, he kept his mouth shut, in order not to incur another sharp reply from Clarissa.

Along their way, they will stumble upon a group of monsters that came attacking out of nowhere. There were no real difficulties when they were dealing against the monsters. Acting as the vanguard, Ichiroku would always be the one who first launches his body forward.

Clarissa and Ichiroku are in a party. Regardless who were the one that does the killing, both of them received the same exp.

Seldom Ichiroku would initiate a conversation with Clarissa, trying to break the awkward silence. He had asked about Clarissa statement when he first met her about being his Goddess of Luck. Only later it was actually revealed that she’s not an actually Ichiroku’s Goddess of Luck. But she will become Ichiroku’s Goddess of Luck if Ichiroku followed her guide and order.

Ichiroku could only nod at her explanations and say no word of disagreement. Clarissa's profession is a Priestess; all of her skills are at Phase 2 Heroic. She does not have any other special skills like Ichiroku, but that does not mean that she’s weak. She was able to fight against a Spider on the same footing. However she is weak if compared to Ichiroku.

Clarissa’s beast race itself gave her a great boost in evasion. Even though her damages are considerably low, her nimbleness and healing skills confirms her survival. However, she too was the same as Ichiroku. She may have experience in fighting monsters on one on one, but she does not have any confidence facing off a group of monsters. But different from Clarissa, Ichiroku had gained his own share of experience fighting a lot of monsters right of the bat in his first quest.

Facing with a different situation, dealing with unnatural atmosphere, all sort of alien environment was fed to him right off the bat on his first day playing Einstel Online. This had caused a mental fatigue for Ichiroku. Ichiroku who was only a NEET before was not able to stomach the current situation that he was facing; he complains a lot and cursed a lot. However, he had gained enough confidence to fight against the monsters and explore into new unknown places.

Ichiroku, who does not have any sort of Martial Art skill in real life, had utilized every skill that he had learned during the fight in Verlassen Island. Through luck and perseverance he managed to defeat Poseidon. From there on, he had gained great boost of confidence.

“I find it quite weird for a programmer to have Priestess as a Job.” Ichiroku spokes out.

“I find it quite weird myself that I have become a Priestess. I would’ve work better as Dancer.”

Clarissa and Ichiroku started a conversation as they take a slow walk on a long empty road, under the shades of tree.

“… …” Ichiroku could not find word of reply to a conversation that he himself initiated. For some odd reason he was reminded of Hye Yoon dancing sexily on the dungeon floor wiping the ground clean with her voluptuous body.

“I mean, I can dance just fine. I tried dancing so many times but I just can’t seems to unlock the profession requirements.” She said.

“What are the requirements?”

“Dancing using your hand only, dancing using your legs only and dance with your entire body.” Clarissa replied short.

“Well that was easy; you only have to do 3 things. I need to have a certain item and a certain action before I was able to gain the Gambler profession. Now that I think of it, I am really lucky.”

“Was that supposed to be a pun?” Clarissa stopped walking and diverted her attention to Ichiroku.

“What pun?”

“Never mind…” Clarissa sighed and continued on walking.

They kept on talking about how they managed to unlock their profession. Ichiroku had also told Clarissa about how he fought against his first monster. To his surprise, Clarissa only knew about his quest in Verlassen Island, and not the details on how he managed to finish the quest. Clarissa kept on staring at Ichiroku with her mouth hung opened.

Clarissa gave Ichiroku a series of slow clap.

“I didn’t know that you had to fight that hard…” She said. “I would’ve run away instead of fighting those monsters. Having to fight more than 500 Mermen, and a battle against Mermen King, I didn’t know that Poseidon was actually a Mermen King. I was actually busy leveling up when the higher up told me that you have defeated Poseidon, and told me that I have to meet you to explain the current situation.

I took the liberty to look at your player’s info directly from our server data base and found out that you had invested all of your additional stat point. I guess I was pretty much pissed off because you invested all of your stat points to luck instead of strength stats when I had difficulties to finish off a monster due to my low attack ability. I may have sounded very arrogant and rude at that time, for that I apologize!” Clarissa bowed down.

“Wait, no!” Ichiroku tried to stop Clarissa. “You were right actually. I should’ve thought more about investing my stat points. After all we are going to do quests that is almost impossible to be completed by 2 players. It’s about time for me to think carefully on what stat build that I should do.” Ichiroku added.

“Even so I am sorry. When I saw your video feed when you were fighting alongside those Koreans I thought you were a showoff. But apparently I was wrong.” Clarissa said, she raised her head and looked at Ichiroku with her cat ears moving cutely.

Ichiroku, who saw that event, placed his right palm and covered both of his eyes. His face was beat red. “There is no way my helper can be this cute!!!” he thought to himself.

“No, it’s okay.” He added while moving his palm away from his face.

“Don’t worry, my knowledge about the monsters can be a great help in our adventure. I know almost everything about the monsters in this game; my teacher had told me almost 87% of monsters and their specialties. I even made a log of it in my computer.”

Clarissa does not have the ability to deal a great damage, however she knew almost all the details there is about monsters in Einstel Game. The reason to this was, her Teacher, Mr. Satty had always talked about the monsters that he had created and its behavior when he was teaching Clarissa online.

Clarissa, on the other hand was a good student. She never questions her teacher’s way of teaching and always put forth her attention at every single thing that her teacher taught her. This was also one of the reasons why Mr. Satty had sent Clarissa in his stead.

“Well then, please take care of me from now on.” Ichiroku said and bowed down humbly before Clarissa.

“You can count of me!” with a complete attitude change, she gave Ichiroku her thumbs up.
