Highgarden

/weeks ago the previous chapter/

Jim had sailed to the Tyrell kingdom and just reached the Highgarden seat.

The Highgarden received two rivers, one from the crownlands and one from the westerlands, ultimately joining the sunset sea.

Jim had sent a raven to the tyrells with the Stark seal, announcing his presence there a week ago, for easy reception so that he could leave early for North as his plans for there were many and most required his oversight.

He was sincerely welcomed at Reach's capital, outside of it at least, from which he was to join the heir to the Reach, Mace Tyrell on their way to Castle Highgarden.

It was customary for the guests of great houses, or important vassals to be welcomed by the heir or at least someone has the same name as that of the head.

The meeting with Mace was short, and there was no real conversation besides the initial greeting. There were also two Tyrell knights, one being a Redwyn and the other a Flowers.

Jim, of course, did not have anything against bastards, heck Loki, his nephew was not related to him in any way, blood or otherwise, but was still his favorite nephew.

They reached the castle Highgarden in a matter of minutes where Jim was informed Lord Luthor was outside for the time and would return in the evening banquet. While he was gone, a court session was held in his stead by his son.

The court was held by Mace, in his father's stead. However, the one who really held the power over the decisions was Olenna. Olenna Tyrell had not earned her reputation as the queen of the thorns in the whole of Westeros yet. She was still known for her slick tongue in the reach and its vicinity though.

"Next" The castellan called out to the peasant.

"My Lord! I am Sarol, a farmer. I come before you for justice. Milord my daughter, she- she was taken by force and now she is with child, Milord the Man has ended her perspective of marriage, which was set to be the next moon's end. Milord I demand justice against Ser Harp Flowers,"

"Call Ser Harp Flowers" The knight in question was brought forward by the Tryell knights.

"In the name of Lord Luthor Tyrell, Lord Paramount of the Mander, Lord of Highgarden, Defender of the Marches, High Marshal of the Reach, Warden of the South (yes these are legitimate titles.) I sentence Ser Harp to pay 8 golden dragons to the father of the girl, while he has to take the girl for his wife."

The knight in question showed a disappointed face outwardly, while happiness could be noticed with one talented in the matters of the eye. And he was happy too as he had achieved what he sought to do, marry the girl, just after paying 8 golden dragons.

The court proceeding carried on while Mace sought his mother's opinion in every important matter, and Jim just oversaw the proceedings. Finally, there was something that caught his interest.

A man with grey robes but no chains on his neck was carried forward by the knights when the castellan announced.

"Milord, this is Qyburn, he was a Maester when he was kicked out of the Citadel after stripping him of his chains."

"Why is he here then? The Citadel matters are there to judge?"

"Milord, he was stripped of his chains due to him experimenting on human bodies, deceased bodies. He has defiled corpses the faith demands his head for performing such unholy acts." The castellan was a follower of the Seven, a firm believer as could be discerned from his raging voice.

Mace looked at Qyburn and then at his mother, who nodded.

"Milord heir Tyrell, the acts I performed were for humanity. My research has taught me to fight disease with more success, and childbirth more easily and less painfully. It has taught me how humans work. This was necessary Milord for the living to live more. The corpses I used for the study were bought by me from the families of the deceased, and I paid gold for each body I cut."

"Please have mercy, Milord. The teaching of the human body could result in impossible findings if I was to pursue the matter, Milord, but I would put stop to them for me to be spared." The young Qyburn pleaded before Mae who alluded to his mother for change decisions, which was met with an indication of approval.

"Silence"

"The Citadel has already punished the ex-Maester, and with that, I exile Qyburn from the Reach in the name of Lord Luthor Tyrell, Lord Paramount of the Mander, Lord of Highgarden, Defender of the Marches, High Marshal of the Reach, Warden of the South. If he is seen again in the Reach, after this moon, his head would be on the Pike where the Pirates of Sunset sea hang."

The exile was the minimum Mace could have offered. The Seven's faith held quite some position in the South and the Lords needed to please them. Olenna knew if there was even a tenth of what this Qyburn said to be true, it would be worth a lot and would revolutionize healthcare.

Qyburn pleaded and thanked the Lord, while he was carried out of the castle.

Jim left the court while the proceedings continued, which was noticed by the Tyrell Lady. Outside the castle was Qyburn, thrown away by the guards.

"Qyburn, was it?"

"Yes, Milord?"

"Mimirsen Jim, and your future Lord, I want some Maester loyal to me and capable of brewing Wildfyre, which is a rare skill among Maesters, if you know how I would send you to my castle with a promise of pay in gold."

"Milord, I am indeed capable of making Wildfyre, but doing so is illegal in the eyes of the Citadel."

"But you are no longer a Maester of the Citadel, are you?" Qyburn eyes sank.

Jim brought out four sheets of paper from his bag. "Go to Winterfell and meet Lord Stark, tell him I sent you, and wait there for me to return."

"Qyburn looked up in a questionable gaze when he noticed the contents of those sheets.

It was a human body diagram, with markings of every bone, muscle, and nerve on different papers. He was perplexed and doubted their information to be true, but it was very carefully marked with almost no hope of mistakes.

"Milord." Qyburn took the paper from Mimirsen's hands to read them more carefully.

"Take these and hide them well, you will receive more information about the human body than the Citadel could ever offer."

Qyburn nodded and left while paying his thanks to Jim, while Jim left for the castle again, where Luthor Tyrell was back and was available to what he had to say.
