[Prologue] - Disaster is a foot

“Oblivion, the old world; a vast desert of its former self, the result of a inevitable cataclysm.” —Revai Macon

<< 2061 | Disaster is a foot >>

Humanity had long stripped the crust of its natural resources only to face disaster. Once mining development began pushing into the mantle, Mother nature turned the tables over upon the greed of corporations and retaliated viciously.

As if it was fueled by rage, the earth erupted into a spiral of hell fire from the mined deposits. The moisture within earths crust evaporated which caused downpours of corrosive rain to spread across the globe. In the matter of three months, the earth was plagued with death and life was no longer sustainable on the surface.

The ocean however remained stagnant but on further inspection acidic composition’s enveloped the epipelagic and mesopelgaiac zones (Ocean layers) leaving corrosive properties.

In the deepest depths of the ocean is where four artificial biospheres reside. A single sphere exceeds forty-eight million square kilometers and houses roughly a three hundred million individuals who were wary of prospecting deeper towards the earth’s core.

The spheres accommodate various forms of life and gene samples to prevent possible extinction and has come to be known as Eden, the new world. Eden was initially created years ago when there existed high risk of nuclear fallout during the third world war.

Inside Eden contains another world smothered with life and systems created to establish man-made biomes. All four biosphere’s separately house different terrains and environments that coexist with each other.

The alignment of the spheres is coordinated with one in the center and the other three on the outside forming a triangle. They are all connected by various tunnel systems.

The center houses a neutral climate when opposed to the tropics, polar and desert biospheres. Against expectations most life that isn’t necessary for humanities sustainability and pleasure had been cryofreezed for preservation to prevent overpopulation and reserve resources.

Naturally the biospheres were created for various species which resulted in being a irreversible world structure that initially wasn’t prepared for the absurd amount of human beings. It was built in the past when there existed a lower population density as a result of the WW III.

It took humanity decades to grow accustomed to their new life style. Just as sudden as their eventual change, the center biosphere was contacted from a outside force that caused  technological advancements. It has however been established as a myth rather then factual information. Artificial suns were one of the newest advancements that not only reduced power consumption but enabled solar energy to flourish.

Operating the biospheres was sole automatic system had been implemented with the coming of the new age. The system calculates precipitation and temperatures to create artificial weather. Due to this establishment the landscape would of course gradually change even without human intervention.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

During the years mining developments was needed, not only to to procure materials but to offer potential work. Mining of course was heavily moderated and eventually this led to the creation of outposts. The coming of mining also initiated a change in the monetary system.

Years went by as each biosphere created their own monarchy; all biosphere’s featured their own kingdom or queendoms. Paper money downgraded back into metallic money such as gold, silver and copper. This change was to allow trading to become effective and establish a better economic situation within each monarchy, gradually giving them more power of the populace.

Humanity flourished within its peaceful environment (excluding the weather) and maintained a steady incline while ignorant of the outside reality. The world within had continued to separate classes by the monetary system causing greed and envy to induce crime; even Eden can’t be perfect.

Settlements became larger as decades past. Disputes were hurled against each other but hostility was rarely expressed. Certain parts of society advanced while others downgraded. This sparked a more green reality. Instead of large robust vehicles that emit pollution, transportation had downgraded to horses. The conditions for mining however used fossil fuels for underwater transportation.

The focus of mining gradually shifted over to advancing technology as forbidden fruits were unearthed.

As time passed technology grew but didn’t become as wide spread in certain areas of society. Capsules are one of few examples of technology that developed in larger settlements but the further you would go the less you would find.

They however were prized due to the capsules ‘time manipulation’. Virtual reality came to age shortly after the release of capsules thus booming their sales and gradually becoming more widespread.

One of the global laws laid down prevented special treatment based on lineage or stature within virtual space. It stated that royalty, military or nobility would be on equal status as commoners only within the game and prevented any repercussions from conflicting either side. One would be stripped of rank, wealth and other privileges if they brought their hated for someone into the real world.

Over time companies flourished while others fell into bankruptcy. Eventually a company by the name ‘Regal’ awoke the public with its newest release of a senix capsule. Regular capsules that had been used for decades only converted time by one:two hours while a senix converted time by one:four in hours.

The company announced their capsules will only function with 'Galaticore' their sole 'virtual' game thus sparking controversy.  Only time would tell what would follow after the events were set in motion.
