My name is Arthur and I'm dying.
It's been a couple of years since I've been stuck at my home, bedridden.
I use to rarely have these minor episodes of headache but I always thought that was due to taking one too many hits to the head during the many military operations I've been on.
But it all came crashing down when I literally crashed after my last op and that was three years ago. After rushing to the hospital and doing a whole bunch of tests, I was told that I've brain cancer and terminal stage at that.
It seems the headaches all these years were my symptoms and I would have had a fighting chance if I went to the hospital to get checked when they first started, all the head trauma I've endured up to now didn't help much either.
Who would have expected to have problems with their brain when they were in their twenties?

I certainly didn't.
Even if I knew I wouldn't have been able to afford the cost of those treatments at that time. It's not like I was rich during that period. Actually, I was broke until my mid-twenties.
I was an orphan who moved around from one place to another until I was at an age where I was eligible to join the military which I did and spent the rest of my life slowly improving my way from a regular grunt to the leader of an elite special ops team.
Anyways, I was told I had two years to live and I didn't want to spend these last two years in a hospital so I moved back to my home and started spending my limited time on the few things that I enjoyed during my childhood, which also helped me go through the hard phases of my life and those are novels, comics, and games.
Before, I didn't have much money so I used to rent them at a very cheap rate for a while but now as I don't have to save my money anymore I started splurging on them and spent the rest of my remaining time binging on these and just like that I was able to eke out one extra year than the doctor promised
And right now that's how I'm dying, while playing a game.
