*Final bell rings*

It was the end of the last semester. The end of my middle school life. Everyone was packing their things, taking pictures with each other, and saying their goodbyes. Everyone except for me. Throughout the school year everyone started to venture out and find their strong points and hobbies. I, however; had no such strong points or talents whatsoever. I was just an average teen going through life.

As I head through the gate I reminisce about my last school year here. I probably won't be seeing my friends anymore as we live in different districts and go off into our own schools of our choosing. Personally, I haven't chosen a school to enroll to yet. Better start doing so soon.

*Hours of walking later*

Walking through the door I call out to my parents, " I'm home now mom and dad... is anyone home?" I walk to the kitchen to see that they started the party without me.

Mom - "Ohh welcome home dear. I'm so proud of you!" she yells as she comes running towards me. I received a hug and sit down in front of the table.

Dad - "Well my boy... you've finally done it!! Come give your old man a handshake and a hug too!!" he says reaching over the table.

I was reluctant to celebrate because soon after I'll have to start getting my life together. "Ohh well let's worry about that later" I thought to myself.

Dad - "Come son!! Let's celebrate your day together now!!" "Come pass me the sake and share a drink with me!!" So up I go to fetch the bottle of sake out of the cabinet.

Mom - "Honey!! he's still just a minor!! He can't be drinking alcohol... Not in my house!!" she screams taking the bottle away from me.

Dad - "But honey, this is an important day in our lives. At least let him have one sip with his father" he says sulking over his cup.

Father ended up winning mother over so in the end I poured some sake into my cup. I starred into the cup and could see my reflection. Everyone jumped up the table and we all screamed "Cheers!!" as we clicked our cups together.

After the one cup I was starting to feel dizzy and light headed. I decided to head up the stairs and get ready for bed. I call to my parents and thank them for the party.

Dad - "You know you've really made your mother and I proud of you son. I know you'll grow up to be  a fine man with goals and aspirations." he says as I'm heading up. Mother let out a couple of tears.

I wash my face and brush and hop into bed looking at the ceiling. Tomorrow is the first day of summer, and when it ends comes the new school semester. I wonder where I'll end up going to. For now it's time to sleep and enter a new day.

*2 months pass*

Well... the whole summer passed like a typhoon. And here I am wasting my life away watching videos on metube. In 2 days school begins again, and I have yet to enroll let alone apply at a school.

*Downstairs* Mother calls out "Fu-kun!! Have you found a nice school yet!?!" "I heard from the neighbors that the new year starts in 2 days!! You better get your butt moving!!" her screams shake the walls of my room.

Me - "Yeah mom I'm still working on it! Don't you worry about a thing!!" I yell back. I think to myself, "Ohh man... time is really crunching down on me. I already know it's too late to apply anywhere... I'm dead"

*Bing* A pop up appears in front of my video. "Woah I was in the middle of watching that!" I was going to exit out of it but before I did, the words "school enrollment" caught a glimpse in the corner of my eye so I stopped my hand and decided to check what the pop up had to say.

As I skim through the ad it mentions that their school has a 100% acceptance rate for all those that apply. I thought to myself "This must be a scam.. there's no way this can be real. I mean is this my only viable option to choose from?" I sat in front of my screen for a couple of hours contemplating on whether I should give it a go.

Me - "What the heck, I've got nothing to lose from this" My finger presses the enroll button. A drop of sweat pools around my forehead as I read the next page. In bright and bold letters it says "Thank you for participating in the enrollment process of our school. All you must do is the following: Complete the following 1 Million questionnaire.

Me - "Are they for real?!? This is absurd!!" as I slammed my fists down onto my desk.

Mom - "Fu-kun is everything alright?!? What was that slam just now? I'm coming up to check on how you're doing" she says heading up the stairs.

Me - "Mom everything is fine! My books just fell no need to check on me. I'm very busy so can you please not bother me right now??" I say loud enough to be heard downstairs. "I really need to focus right now on something thank you!"

Mom - "Ohh darling I'm worried about our boy.. he still hasn't gotten himself enrolled into a school yet." she says holding onto Dad.

Dad pats her on the back to reassure her. "It's alright dear, I'm sure he's just fine. We raised him ourselves after all."

I mentally prepared myself for this immense task ahead of me. I wasn't sure how I'd do on this questionnaire. During school I was ranked right in the middle in a class of 1000 students at 500th. Academics weren't really my strong suits. In fact I was pretty much average in everything I did in life. Guess this'll be the only outstanding thing I've done in my life if I manage to complete it.

I take a deep breath and hope for the best...

*The next day*

Mom - "Fu-kun!!! It's time for breakfast!!" she yells down in the kitchen.

The smell of breakfast seeps through my door and catches my nose. I take a whiff and it revitalizes my body up from exhaustion. Without noticing, I left my computer on while I slept so I shut it off before going down to the kitchen.

Dad - "Good morning son" he says as he sips his coffee. "What on earth happened to you last night? You look like you haven't slept a wink."

Mom - "Fu-kun it's not good to stay up at night you know" she scolds me after putting food on my plate. "Ohh I almost forgot.. something came for you in the mail just earlier. You should open and check it real soon , it could be important"

I look at the envelope in my hands. It had an ornate and superior feel to it. I was suspicious of the sender and the contents inside. I open the envelope and took out a letter and read it over.

Dad - "Well son?? What is the letter for? Is it from your girlfriend perhaps? he says jokingly to my mother. She doesn't take the joke well and scoffs at Dad's remark. Dad changes topic and asks again with a grin, "Well son what's the letter for?"

I jumped out of seat nearly falling over and screamed for joy. I hopped onto our dinner table and scream "I finally got into a school!!"

My dad shot his coffee across the kitchen. "Did you really?!? My boy my boy you've done it again!!" he says springing up from his seat. "Darling did you hear that?? Our boy is going on his way to high school!!"

Mother drops her utensils and jumps onto the table too. "I knew you'd be able to do it Fu-kun!! I thought you'd never apply and it was too late. Your mother was very worried" she grabs ahold of me "So what exactly does the letter say? What school is it from?"

I read them the paper, "Congratulations!! You've been accepted into our prestigious Hiko Gakuen. We'll be delighted to see you when the new year starts. Signed from the Chairman of Hiko Gakuen." and that's all there is to it Mom and Dad.

Parents - "Hmm I don't think I've ever heard of Hiko before.. but they do say they're prestigious. Anyways we're both so proud of you son." They both give me a hug.

Me - "Thanks Mom and Dad, I don't think I could've done it without you guys!!"

Mom - "We've got to start packing!! You'll be headed off for your first day of school tomorrow!! Hurry up dear and get his bags and belongings!!" she says hurrying up to my room.

Me - "Ohh man.. I didn't think I would make it in time." I sat at the table by myself. "To think that I, Futsu, will be starting my high school life starting tomorrow on... I wonder how it'll be. I hope to one day overcome my averageness. We'll see soon enough" I head up to my room to start packing.

I hope that this one will be easier to read and follow.
