Excerpt 'The Name of Archior' from 'History of the Archioric Peninsula by Christopher Anderson, Scholar of the Department of History and Archaeology of the Imperial College at Skysea, Chapter I: Ancient Origins' written in the 460th year of the Fifth Era:

~ The earliest records we have of any form of civilisation upon our most Noble Homeland of Archior and what would eventually become Feldonia comes from the Ancient Elven Records from Explorers to the peninsula that told of numerous human tribes who bear much resemblence to the Gaolidain and Gaol peoples of the current era. No one is sure to this day even of the origins of the name 'Archior'. The common legend prevailing amongst the common masses was that it was named after a great Golden Gryphon, Archion, that reigned as the undisputed ruler of the beasts in the land. However, the more learned amongst our scholars have put forward another theory in regards to the origin of the name 'Archior' and that is coming from the Old Aurian tongue of the elves meaning 'Old Gold'. Some would posit that this theory is supported by the many deposits of gold in the Northern and Southern portions of our country that are the foundations upon which our country's many gold mines lay.

Regardless of any such origins of the name, the earliest record we have of such a name being in use was from as far back as the Golden Age of the Old Aurigenian Imperium of the Elves who reported trade relations being established in the 'Archius' Land of the Gryphons around roughly four millenia ago. The name of 'Caratacus' was recorded as being one of the more prominent 'warrior-kings' of the Gallian peoples who had established regular trade with the Elves, though much of that trade involved the selling of slaves and captives from amongst the captured peoples of many of his rivals and enemies from neighbouring clans and tribes. ~
